Rye embodies Brooklyn's living and breathing history - a poignant example of how both past and present continue to coexist harmoniously on Williamsburg's south side. Rye, free from outside investors, remains true to the DIY spirit and history of the Brooklyn neighborhood in which it resides.

Rye’s last service
Very sad to say goodbye to our favorite restaurant!
will be greatly missed :( always a staple for special occasions
So sad this place is closing!! Rye is absolutely a gem - I’ve brought almost every visitor to Brooklyn to eat here. Worth a visit before it shuts its doors.
Sorry dudes- by the time you're reading this Rye will be closed forever. It was great while it lasted.
Happy hour was great! The place looks amazing and the burguer, while simple, was on point.
The food and drinks were great. Unfortunately, the table service was terrible. We had to remind our waitress multiple times for seemingly everything (water, a new round of drinks, etc).
When the food came out, 3 out of 4 of us were served, but nothing was said about the entree for the 4th in our party.
The front of house staff and the bartenders were all great. I hope that when we go back, we get a different server.
Rye was the perfect venue to celebrate my birthday with 8 of my friends; two of whom were visiting from outside of NY and haven't stopped complimenting on how delicious the food was. Rye is little more expensive than your typical NYC restaurant but it's an amount that was well spent and will be spent again.
The food and beverages at rye were outstanding. The service left much to be desired. Almost half an hour to get beverages is way to long. The server also hardly checked in on our table. Overall the food made up for the poor service but it was something I would question before returning.
It was a lovely date night for me and my boyfriend. Perfect ambiance, amazing food, and great service. We are looking forward to our return! Thank you!
We had a really bad service experience, they informed us only after a while they were out of oysters, they did not serve any meatloaf yesterday (even if it was on menu) they forgot my juice and brought us the wrong beer.
Went for NYE - the prix fixe menu was varied and we all loved our food. Portions were generous and the kitchen was prompt. Sat at the bar beforehand, bartender was attentive and lovely. Very nice dinner/lunch place!
What a great surprise! Been coming to Williamsburg from the other side of the bridge (LES) for the last 10 years or so and can’t believe we never ate here! Had heard of it but thought it was a super high-end, fancy place. Instead it was a wonderful, warm and cozy place with high-end quality food and drink but not a snooty atmosphere at all. Our server was terrific, super knowledgeable and friendly and the food was amazing! Still dreaming of those grilled artichokes, cauliflower gratin and meatloaf sandwich. Oh and the donuts and homemade ice cream weren’t too terrible either. Look forward to our return.
Very nice place with excellent food.
Very well prepared and delicious meals, after which you won't be hungry anymore without having too much in your plate.
Service is fine, maybe a bit too insistent.
Consistently good in a great location. Est here as often as we can.
Amazing happy hour deal of a crafted Old Fashioned and cheeseburger slider for $6. The dinner was cozy and delicious. Service was a little slow but the food and ambiance is completely worth it.
Nice dinner with my son and his girlfriend. The food was surprisingly well prepared. The service was good. The restaurant has charm. We would return.
Great dinner. Go hungry, the food is rich. Casual, cozy vibe.
I've taken my staff here for a Holiday meal two years now and they never disappoint. I also do birthdays, dates and general everyday dining here. Excellent cocktails and food. The Pickles are particularly good and always an eye-opener for those who haven't tried them before. I love the bar it's just beautiful and while the barmen can be on the gruff side—never effusive— but they are bearded and professional in a too old to be hipster way lends the place a very masculine American feel.
Very, very poor experience which was surprising as we're frequent customers.
great vibe , good food but not very clean. needs an overhaul...dim lighting couldn't hide the stains on wall's. Very dirty mildewy smell by the bar....Hostess was great, server was amazing bartender lacked personality. Also to 86 any entree on a Saturday is a huge industry no no. The only fish entree was sold out by 8:15...not a good look.
Inventive and delicious ! Wonderful service. When we had a problem getting a cab, they arranged a last minute (really last minute) car service. Great cocktails!
Everything was perfect!
We had Thanksgiving dinner at Rye, and wholeheartedly enjoyed the food and great service - the only reason I wouldn't rate it outstanding across the board is that it was very noisy and hard to hear my dinner companions.
Went there for Thanksgiving and the Prix Fixe menu they offered was fantastic. Every course was delicious but the crème brulé was to die for!
Came here for thanksgiving and their three course menu did not disappoint. Incredible food, cozy environment and a perfect evening.
The food and the dining experience at Rye was excellent . Everyone enjoyed their meal. Overall superb .
Thanksgiving meal was superb! A bit more pricy than others, but worth it...service was exceptional! Wish they had included coffee and tea with the meal, tho.
I went on a cold and busy Saturday night where diners were flooding the hostess area. Despite the fact that the hostess was obviously overloaded, she was incredibly nice and sat us at a great booth in the back. Food and drinks were impeccable. I though it was a great spot for a date that isn’t overly fancy with great food and character.
The cocktails were amazing and the food was incredible. We got the porterhouse for 2 and it was so delicious and tender and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend.
The staff was in general nice and the food was really good - but they were just too busy. We had to wait an hour for our table that we had reserved (and we weren't the only one), in general it look a long time to get our order in and recieve our food and drinks. At one point the waiter accidentally spilled hot coffee down one of our friends back. Overall they gave us a 4 dollar discount (on a black coffee they had forgot that we had ordered)...
Meatloaf sandwich was good. The fall ravioli was amazing! If you’re planning dinner, plan to be there a little before 5:30pm. If they say they open at 5:30, they’re serious! You can’t even wait at the bar!
Biggest steak I’ve ever had
Love this place but horrible service - they were definitely understaffed. One table near us legit got up and left. At least they comped one of our drinks. Will go back but pls hire more waitstaff!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rye. The atmosphere is subtle, cozy and a respectful nod to the past. The bar is worth the visit alone. The food was simply elegant and delicious. The staff superb. If we lived closer it would be one of our regular spots. If you are in Brooklyn, don't miss Rye.
Absolutely loved Rye!! Great food and lovely ambiance
Rye is all around an incredible experience! The ambiance is cozy. Great for a date night and small groups. Decor and music takes you back to the Prohibition era. The Old Fashioned is superb, and the food is top notch. Small portions, but packed with flavor!
Nice spot for quintessential Brooklyn dining , cozy, great food and easy parking
