Took my wife out for her birthday dinner. The food was good and the service was good but unfortunately we were seated in a small back room with a party of about 20 people who were noisy and loud. Not what I had in mind. The room could have been arranged differently so this group could have been seated at the back of the room instead of seated along the length of the room. Overall a costly, unpleasant experience.
I came here with my fiancé for our anniversary. Our server was great and we got free dessert for the special occasion. They have 1/2 bottles of wine on Mondays so we took a bottle home. I would definitely come back.
This is an old standby in the Winston Salem dining scene. I personally thought everything was excellent in a kind of retro 70's style. You should ask to be seated next to the window .Although other people have raved about the she crab soup, I think it was just OK. However, both my steak au louvre and my sister's lobster were first rate. My brother asked for his steak "medium" and that is the way it came. If you want rare meat, be sure to order it that way. We will be back!
My wife traditionally has been, for business, a more frequent visitor, but we have never been disappointed in a Ryan's visit. It can be a little noisy, and some tables are more pleasing than others, but I can't say I've had a negative experience yet.
Outstanding quality. Prime rib is amazing.
Service above average. Ambience: romantic.
Wife’s birthday so I made a reservation in advance notifying them of the occasion hoping I’d get a nice table. Instead we were placed in a corner in the restaurants upper main level. Not exactly overwhelmed. Service was adequate but not what I’d expect out of a fine dining establishment. Food was very good except our bacon wrapped scallops. Scalloped were very small in comparison for the amount of bacon they were wrapped in. The Wagyu steak and prime rib were however delicious, but I’d expect so considering what you will pay.
Anniversary dinner. Service was top rate. Very nice wine list. The grouper was cooked perfectly and the oysters perfect. My wife had the rack of lamb and said it was delicious. Their key lime pie is made in house and very good. Our favorite place for special occasions.
They had a very busy evening going on and still provided excellent meal and service. They are consistent. We have eaten at Ryan’s many times and will return again.
I would not recommend this restaurant, very old and dated. The waitress did not even mention the specials for evening, mediocre service. Spent time with great friends ~ only positive of the evening.
We were there on New Year's Eve so the noise level was high due to so many people and excited. It was our anniversary as well. The food was very good, but feel that it is way over priced. They did offer duck breasts, which I didn't get, but is a nice touch on the menu. The only negative really was price.
