Ruzia’s is a cosy little wine bar in Caulfield North, built on big love and beautiful food. It’s inspired by Ruzia, a Polish-Jewish woman whose story—surviving the war, starting over in Australia, and building a home filled with warmth and generosity—has shaped everything about the place.

Her grandson Ravi has brought that spirit to life in a space that’s all about sharing good wine, comforting plates, and genuine hospitality. The menu takes cues from Ruzia’s Polish heritage, but with a fresh Melbourne twist—think small and medium dishes that are refined but relaxed, and perfect for sharing.

The wine list is a handpicked mix of local favourites, with a focus on producers who care about quality and craft. Whether you’re popping in for a quick glass or settling in for a long, slow night, Ruzia’s is all about connection, comfort, and the kind of food and drink that brings people together.

We had a lovely evening. The food was excellent quality and professionally and interestingly prepared. Portions were a very good size and a nice choice of wines. Service very attentive and cheerful. We'll definitely go back as we want to try other items on the menu.

Too bright. Too loud. Too skimpy on the bread. And how about providing the good rye bread with the shared plate in the first place? $7 extra for 4 pieces (ie 2 slices) of Baker Bleu rye is a bit rich. And the wine list is very mediocre. Lovely though somewhat inexperienced staff. I was so hoping for a great neighbourhood bar. Hoping Ruzia’s settles in and gets it right.

Quite disappointing as when we arrived we had a table set for us and the man who sat us down said you can have this table. If you’d like in the window as it’s not booked we ordered a bottle of bubbles ordered two different plates of food had another two glasses of wine and when the bill came we paid and both did quite a fair tip of around $15-$20 each. Then I went to the ladies and when I came back my friend was standing ready to leave as the man said we need to have this table now for people outside it was quite disappointing after a lovely night and fair tip

A wonderful new wine bar run by a delightful young couple, with delicious Eastern European food that brought back many fond childhood memories. I look forward to many lovely evenings here.
