Birthday. They did a excellent job
I had a 8:45 dinner reservation. Upon being seated, the waiter advised that we only had 1 minute to order our food before the kitchen closes. The waiter was very nice and professional so this review should not reflect on him at all. I find it odd Ruth Chris confirmed my 8;45pm reservation only to have us come and be rushed. What made matters worse....??? They couldn’t make the Desert portion of our order because the kitchen was closed even though we put the order in when we were advised to moments after being seated. We asked for a manager but was told they all left for the day. No refund or comp drinks or meal to compensate. No visit from a manager or someone in charge to assist with the issue. This was supposed to be a special occasion celebration and the experience just left me very disappointed. The food was great but Ruth Chris definitely could have provided better service.

We have been dining at Ruth Chris for many years. We have always had George as our server going back to the original location on Broad. George recently retired (congratulations George). We arrived Sunday about 15 minutes early and Christian seated us right away, in a small room we have not dined in before. The table was nice. the room only had a couple tables in it, not to loud and secluded. As soon as being seated our server Joe introduced himself and asked what type of water we wanted and if we were ready to order, we didn't even open a menu yet as were just seated. We got our water and Joe returned 2 minutes later asking if we were ready to order yet, no happy valentines day, no would you like to place a drink order, no going over the specials that were happening that weekend for Valentines day weekend. As Joe was walking away again I said how about a cocktail order and he went on his way. 5 minutes or so after placing our cocktail order we placed our food order. Veal Rosso bucca and salad arrived very fast, but no cocktails and no Joe to check on our appetizers. Our entrees showed up along with cocktails. This was the last time we saw Joe until I had to ask another employee for our check. No one checked to see if our meals where ok, if we needed another round of cocktails or even water. This is the second bad experience we have had at Ruth Chris since they moved to this location. The other bad experience George was off that day. We won't be returning for a third bad experience.
Food was cold and found a piece of glass on my wife’s plate. Told manager and he took 20$ off
But not I. Special days food as extremely cold and everyone was over worked just not same

My husband and I went for Valentines Day and overall had an OK experience. I think the food is overpriced - lobster Mac and cheese was definitely not freshly made and the mashed potatoes were not warm. The steaks were good but not the best I’ve ever had. Our service wasn’t anything to brag about - our waiter was inattentive. For the price and overall experience , I would recommend going elsewhere.

As usual, the whole experience was great. The crowd, the wait staff and the food were amazing. The best restaurant in philly.
Lobster was exceptionally delicious the best I’ve ever had at an Ruth Chris.

It was a birthday occasion and it was wonderful!!
Soooooo... I was really disappointed! Everyone has an off night, and I’m going to chalk it up to that, but from our arrival to the time we left, I was underwhelmed in a place I’ve come to expect and take for granted, great food, service and environment. I was late for my reservation, because my colleagues flight was late, so I had to set a new reservation. When we arrived, the hosts quibbled (or rather, the young lady quibbled with Cristian about where she was going to seat us) about where we were to sit, and then sat us in a booth that was way too big to accommodate us. Cristian worked to move us, and we ended up sitting in the booth we usually are seated at when we come for dinner.
Che was our server and he did a good job, but we realized that we needed to rush to order since we arrived 30 minutes before the kitchen and bar closed. We ordered and once the food arrived, I noticed the quality was not the norm. The appetizers were ok, but my steak arrived at the wrong temperature (medium well instead of medium rare). Zeke noticed that the brussel sprouts were not up to par, and brought us a new order, and the sautéed spinach looked like spinach salad sitting in a bowl of oil. We sent the spinach back and were told that it usually comes al dente, but the amount of oil was way too much. I asked Zeke about the issues with the food, as this was extremely uncommon for our experience. He, Che and the manager on duty made sure that our remaining experience was ok.
My mentor and I come to this restaurant at least four times a year, we are used to most of the wait staff, and Liz is now a great friend to us. I was shocked by this experience, and hope that this will of be the case the next time we come in May. I hated to rate my experience the way I did, but there is certainly a lot of room for improvement. We look forward to returning and finding that everything has returned back to our regular high regard and standards for our favorite place in Philly!

Ribeye cooked to perfection and crab cakes were delicious
I might recommend it. The staff (except the receptionist) was excellent. Our waiter Michael very accommodating. The food is expensive but my colleague and I split a large ribeye and it was excellent and beautifully cooked. The accompaniments were OK but nothing special. However, my friend is lactose intolerant and the only non-dairy desert they had was sorbet. Not acceptable these days. My biggest complaint, and the reason I down graded the entire experience was I made a reservation way in advance and asked for one of the side-rooms with a curtain so our conversation could be completely confidential. When I arrived, a bit early, I was told by the receptionist that they didn’t have any of the rooms. “Yes but I reserved it.”. She said, “you did, but it is first come first served.” I was actually speechless. But I have regained my voice now and, on its face, the policy is absurd. Either let people reserve the rooms or say it it first come first served. Overall, the steakhouse is average (with prices way above that) but the waitstaff we had was terrific.

Server was unprofessional and had way too much cologne on. Drinks took way too long to come out and my appetizer came with my meal after I reminded server appetizer never came out first. Expensive which is fine but the service is what I would expect at an Applebee’s. Not thrilled.
Great filet cooked “rare plus” as Che told me, was just over the cold center rare and just how I like it. Che was a great server and knows his basketball! We were staying at the Sonesta Hotel and the steakhouse is just off the lobby. Short walk on a full belly back upstairs. It’s expensive but good.
Wonderful environment to have a celebration a anniversary a birthday or just a good dinner.
Me and my fiancé had the private booth. We loved it , so amazing! Food was great, server was nice.
It’s was very relax date, however they had added bacon to my dishes after I ask for no pork bacon for its my religion beliefs that I dont eat pork and the fact that my Appearance was clear that I was Muslim. The young men did bring me a different salad that was dry (Caesar salad) but the whole overall dining was enjoyable and yes I would come back.
Food was good - service was (generously) lacking. Bringing entree while we are still eating appetizers is something I would expect at a restaurant where I am spending a considerable amount of money.
In addition to the issue with apps / entrees - the service was just not sincere.
Normally Ruth Chris is very good - this time very so-so.

We love Ruth’s Chris. Sadly it’s changed - not for the better
The BBQ shrimp is boiled not barbecue - it use to be bbq .
The sauce is different - I miss that special quality it had.
We would go dressed - people walk in there now with sweatpants. Like no one cares. And neither does the restaurant it seems. I guess business is business. I feel like everything lacks quality. While the place is still very pretty.
I miss the Broad Street address.
Steve is still the beat waiter - that is one of the best part of the restaurants.

Filet mignon was ordered medium, came out medium rare. Was still a great meal!
First I want to say I love where we were seated at. Which was the booth.... It was real intimate and cozy just what I was looking for. The service was awesome and our waiter constantly checked on us. The food was good as well. I had the stuffed chicken breast which was so good. I would highly recommend this place for a date, special occasion, or business dinner etc. Great place will be back again very soon.

Charlie was our waiter.. Meal and service was great as usual. Requested special seating in one of the few private booths but all were reserved when we arrived. Mentioned that to the hostess when she seated us in a regular booth. Suggested that she could move us to another table but kind of got a stink attitude when we took her up on the offer. My husband and I have dined here on many occasions, service and food are always excellent except for this minor issue. This was a special occasion and when you're spending that kind of money, expectations are high. Expecting it to go well from start to finish. The host/hostess set the tone and mood for your guests, the first person diners interact with, the face of the establishment. There are many excellent choices in the city but we chose to come here. We will return, this is one of our favorite restaurants. Please make sure your hostess keeps that in mind.

Overall the experience was great...Didn’t care for the cheesecake.
We’ve dined here several times and always have exceptional food and service. The veal ravioli appetizer is delicious. And, of course, my petite filet and my fiancé’s ribeye were absolutely perfect. We were in a private booth that had rose petals and a card from the staff for our anniversary which was so sweet. They also comped our dessert, which we would have ordered anyway, and wrote Happy Anniversary on the plate our creme brûlée was delivered on. All in all, a wonderful dining experience with excellent food, wine, and great service!
My server was rude. I changed seats and she literally grabbed the silverware from one side and threw threw them on the table. I was shocked and so were my guest. I then had a similar experience with the host when I asked for my jacket and she gave me the wrong one. When I said that to her she was clearly upset and went back and gave me my jacket with an attitude. Restaurant is good but it clearly needs to retrain their employees on how to treat customers that are paying premium price for their restaurant.
What stopped me from giving an overall 5 star rating was the greeting by the hostesses, or lack of, upon arrival. Two women were working the hostess desk, and neither were welcoming. My husband and I both felt like we were bothering them and were apprehensive about how the rest of our dining experience was going to unfold. Luckily, our waiter Kyle was EXCELLENT and completely changed the atmosphere around. Kudos to him!
Upon going up to the desk, neither woman said anything and I had to be the first to talk and simply said "I have a reservation..." One woman just said "name" and after that, the two women talked amongst themselves and never said another word except for "follow me". It was all very odd and very unwelcoming.

Food was great. Restaurant was empty and they sat us next to a large party with screaming children. My husband and I were trying to enjoy a nice dinner so this was less than ideal. We ordered salads after having our salads for five minutes they bring out our main course. The food runner took my salad away as I was mid bite. Very rushed. We were in and out of the restaurant within 40 minutes.
We were very happy with our first experience. We will be back!
