   The Maryland steak without a a question was the best steak I’ve ever eaten. The seafood platter appetizer was also fantastic. My wife had the strawberry martini and said it was amazing. The bread service was great. The young woman who waited so informative and willing to talk us through any item on the menu. I will drive the 150 miles one way just to have diner some day.

   Great food. My 10year old did not like his food and I thought they might remove it from the bill but I don't think they did. I thought it was very overpriced. Probably will not come again due to the prices.

   Excellent food and service with a beautiful view. The filets was cooked perfectly and so tender. Creamed spinach and Brussel sprout dishes were enough for 3 to share and fantastic.

   Food was great! Service slow! Took awhile to get our food. Then took extra long to get a to go box and check. Normally, service is spot on.

    Got a bug in my salad that clearly would have washed out of the lettuce had it been cleaned. Filet tasted more like a roast and server never asked once to fill my water. First time here… probly won’t be back… especially at those prices.

    Again, we had a great experience! Our server was great, on hand when needed and not around when we didn’t need him! Food was excellent and I maintain that this is the only place my wife and I will order steaks because they are the best since Peter Luger’s!

    I made a reservation on 4/22 through Open Table for DINNER at Ruthies for Mother’s Day May 14 for 4 of us 5:45 pm. Imagine our surprise, when our server told us they were not serving anything off the menu only the $55 pp buffet. I went back to view my May Offer email from Rhythm city and it was stated BRUNCH at Ruthies 10AM-3PM. I would have NEVER made a reservation if I would have known the BRUNCH was extended, however, I was going by the info I was given by Rhythm City. As a group, the 4 of us made the unfortunate choice to stay. Every entree each of us tried (we all had different items) was cold…not lukewarm, cold. The choices were meat, meat and more meat! Not one vegetable offering of any kind, only one sad looking bowl of soggy lettuce with a blueberry dressing..no other salad . Fingerling (cold) potatoes with a Smokey flavor no other side. Went to the bar, which had been turned into a pasta station.. I did this as it was cooked to order and was the only warm food I received. I am sure, if a health inspector would have taken the food temps, the line would have shut done immediately. We asked our server for a bread/roll basket. “Nope, we are not serving bread” was the reply. I noticed there were lox served at the seafood station, but if you want to eat them in the traditional manner, on a bagel with cream cheese…neither was offered…out of luck. Crab claws… no butter, cold beef filet no bernaise only au jus. Desserts were plentiful but not worth $55pp. No coffee, tea, etc was offered. No flowers on the table for the occasion. The entire experience was dismal. We have eaten dinner at Ruthies several times before and loved the food, the ambience and service and we were excited to share Ruthies with our friends . I was embarrassed that I had talked up Ruthies in such high regard. Ruthies please stick with what you do best, fine dining with a great atmosphere leave the buffet to Roberts. We left hungry, dissatisfied and $300 poorer.

    Fist, let me start by saying that we have been here before and everything has been EXCELLENT. But last night when we went, finding out the only offering was the buffet we were highly disappointed because when I made the reservation (on April 26) it gave me a choice of buffet or ordering off menu. I picked order off menu. The buffet was decent, better than your average buffet food, but it still wasn’t what we planned on, as I had brought my son for his birthday dinner and he had never been. According to our waiter we were not the only party that had been misinformed about this being buffet only. Just wanted to leave this so maybe going forward it doesn’t happen to other guests that visit. We will definitely be back… to order off the menu.

    Was very disappointed for Mother’s Day dinner. It was mostly seafood, which I cannot eat. I could not eat the salads because of the cheese. The chicken and pork that I could eat was dry. This was very expensive. I was looking forward to having a good steak. And the bread and butter. And they didn’t even have bread out for this tonight.  way too expensive for what was offered that I could have. Very disappointed.

    We went for the Mothers Day dinner buffet. We were very disappointed in the quality of the food. Hot items were barely warm at best. Cold items were not fresh. The quality of the food and lack of options did not live up to the high price. We were very disappointed. We made our reservation for 5pm and were surprised to see empty chafing dishes, over cooked vegetables, dry chicken and cold meat at the carving station. The only positive was the server was pleasant and attentive.

    We've eaten at Ruthies many times. We've always enjoyed it and bragged about how great it is. This time, we were disappointed. The food was great but very slow.     We eat here a lot and our experience in the past has always been very good. Last night we had some out of town guest join us for dinner. We had heavily promoted Ruthies as on of the best restaurants in the area. we were proven wrong last night. Restaurant was very busy. Our server was very pleasant and engaging. We all ordered steaks and sides. All of our sides came out hot as expected. The steaks were COLD. Not even warm. When we brought it to waitress attention, she apologized and said they had gotten slammed by a big party. Special events are great but should not take precedent over the loyal patrons who come often. We were confused by the tables that arrived after us were served long before us. We were deep in conversation so we were not terribly concerned about the delay. Had I known that the food was going to be compromised, I would have asked as to why we were waiting so long. Fortunately my guests do not live in town as they said they would not come back to this restaurant in the future. My wife and I were disappointed but, we will write this off as just a bad day and will come back again. Hoping for better experience in the future.

    Way over priced, especially on drinks. Food was good but served lukewarm. $19 for a cocktail is too much. Service was very good. Fine dining prices without the small details that make it worth the money.

    We had a absolutely wonderful dinner and our server was outstanding. The restaurant was extremely busy due to prom and a concert but we had no complaints in regards to the food quality, cocktails, service and speed in getting our dinner.     My filet with pork belly marmalade was superior and cooked perfectly. My husband enjoyed his tomahawk pork chop as well. Dessert and coffee were delicious. Ruthies is always great and we make a point to dine there whenever we drive in for a stay at the casino.

    I had the shrimp and medallions with garlic mashed potatoes It was serviced only warm and not hot at all. Sent it back it was a little better but not much. If I’m spending money a nice dinner I want it to be hot not just warm The flavor was good

    Nice place for great food and nice atmosphere. It's Iowa, so you are just as likely to see patrons in suits as in a hoodie, but that doesn't take away from the spectacular food, the attentive service, and the view from the 6th floor across the Iowa landscape.
