The food and service lived up to the high standards set in the reviews. Unfortunately, the noise was majorly distracting. We could not hear conversations. I sincerely hope the owners invest in soundproofing materials.
EVERY TIME WE GO TO RUTHIES I ALWAYS PLAN WHAT I'M GOING TO HAVE ON MY NEXT VISIT. IT'S ALWAYS SOMETHING THAT A DINER AT A NEARBY TABLE HAS ORDERED THAT LOOKS IRRESISTIBLE. IVE BEEN PROVEN RIGHT ON 4 VISITS LEADING ME TO BELIEVE EVERYTHING IS SCRUMPTIOUS. THE BISCUITS & THE YEAST ROLLS ARE EXCEPTIONAL & PERFECT ACCOMPANIMENT TO THE 'MAINS'.
We ended up moving inside owing to the threat of rain. It was very kind of the hostess to accommodate us.
My friend and I sat next to each other at a table in the middle of the room. It was so noisy we had to shout to hear each other, and I still could not catch some of what she said (there's nothing wrong with my hearing!). I hope something can be done to dampen the noise level inside. It takes the fun out of catching up with friends when conversation is so difficult.
That said, my brisket bennie was amazing!
Great date night dinner! The smoked oysters are incredible. Very fast service and good food.
This was a great and tasty experience. We were sat quickly, the food was great, service was great, leading to a great experience
We had a reservation but had to wait for 30 minutes before we were seated outside. The woman seating us told me our drinks would be comped but they were not. I love traditional meat and there’s in the South but usually the vegetables and the bread are the best part. Here, the meat was cooked really well (we had chicken tenders and brisket) but the sides were disappointing and the bread was cold and was served without butter.
Excellent experience. Nice patio area. Great service. Outstanding food. Will return.
Second time at this restaurant and will definitely go back. Like that I could reserve outdoor seating.
First time there for dinner and enjoyed everything. The spare ribs were perfectly done as well as the Branzino, which was delicate.
The Halibut special was superbly cooked, the rhubarb gastrique & kale were perfect complement. I know RAD is a bbq joint but they have a knack for delicate & extraordinary cuisine. So many other reasons we will continue to visit their knowledgeable servers, great bar selections, fab managers that greet us like family & a kitchen that rocks🥂
Went in the evening and service was VERY slow and VERY intermittent. Food, including appetizers, took more than an hour...wasn't sure if our server forgot to put in the order. The experience was difficult, but the food was delicious. I've only been a couple of times and had a very different experience both times thankfully - quality of service, ambiance, and food was on point and delightful. Hoping this negative experience was a once-off.
The food was outstanding! The servers were attentive and the outside porch had a relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be back!
As always, had a lovely meal - although I hope you can work on the acoustics in the near future :)
Awesome experience. Patio is lovely, plenty of shade but when the sun was intrusive we asked the waiter to adjust our umbrella which was not an issue at all. High chair available for my little one, no kids menu which for us was fine, portions are huge. All of the food was SO good. Service was prompt and friendly.
Fabulous food, helpful server. A few more servers on the patio would be great!
The food was amazing, full of flavor, generous portions and attractively presented. The restaurant was bustling and the staff was quite busy. We were lucky to be seated at an outside table. Inside the restaurant the noise was deafening.
What a little gem this place is. There's something for everyone on the menu and the food is excellent. I had the grilled curry shrimp with a side of the fennel arugula salad and the roasted sweet potatoes. The arugula salad had just the right amount of dressing and the sweet potatoes, as simple as they were, were buttery and perfectly seasoned, probably the best sweet potatoes I've had anywhere! The curry shrimp was phenomenal and not too spicy. I can't wait to return and try other things on the menu.
Our first visit to RAD was a good experience. The weather was splendid, so we ate outdoors. We each had "simple" sandwich, with a side of the roasted sweet potatoes. The brisket was quite tasty, although one piece was extremely fatty. The coleslaw topping and the pickles were good compliments to the brisket. The potatoes were excellent -- not too sweet. No room for dessert -- we will try that next time! Parking can be a challenge if they are busy.
I've eaten here twice already with plans to keep coming back. Their food is very good, and they have friendly and professional staff that provide great customer service.
Great restaurant to visit. Good variety of food and nice front desk and table service. Prices are very reasonable. Try for outdoor dining though as quite noisy inside for some.
Great, casual place with outstanding food and service.
We arrived a bit early for our reservation but they were able to seat us right away. Quick, attentive service, the portions were generous and the food was very good. We were seated outside so the noise level was fine. I’m a retired restaurant lifer and very happy to have a quality place like Ruthie’s All Day in the neighborhood.
Had a lovely meal outside with great food; we enjoyed everything we ate. Can’t wait to come back.
This is the second time I have visited Ruthies All Day and sat at the outdoor patio. Both times we have had excellent service, excellent food, and an overall excellent experience.
We were a group of 6 for brunch. We started with orders of both the deviled eggs and cornbread; both excellent and worth ordering. For our mains we ordered: Fried Chicken Cobb (Great), pimento sandwich (worth ordering), vegetable benedict (Great), grain salad (hearty, but light), breakfast plate (standard). We really enjoyed brunch, but loved dinner, so will probably come back for dinner again next.
We didn't order breakfast cocktails, but saw some come out, which looked very nice and colorful. It was pretty busy, so it looked like the bar may have been a little backed up, but everyone around us looked happy.
Also, order dessert. The campfire cookies were amazing. Unbelievable. I am mad at myself that we skipped dessert after dinner on our first visit.
Great food and service! Plenty of outdoor seating.
Good food. Nice to have a quality local place to visit. We will
great food, a tad expensive.
love the variety of food.
I thought the "starters" would be made to order; however, the cornbread was a tad "less than" warm.
We ordered the brisket and pulled pork. Delicious food and great service!
Politely attentive service. Tasty brunch menu options, so long as you’re not being hyper-sensitive about calorie counts. Skillet cornbread appetizer is a tasty treat for a few shared nibbles between a group of four. Any main option with a biscuit will leave you full and happy.
We entered a highly lively atmosphere heightened by concrete flooring, an expansive space my brisket was tender and smokey. The sides of cheesey mac n' cheese and creamy coleslaw were traditional tasty comfort accompaniments; the charred brussels sprouts with fish sauce was awesome. The substantial portions unfortunately did not leave us with room for dessert...next time! Ruthie's is a terrific neighborhood spot to relieve the stresses of the week (parking is not a problem, no worries there!).
Very good food and generous servings. Noise level beyond comfort. The noise level distracted from the dinner. Something needs to be done with the noise before I would return.
Amazing food! Highly recommended and will be back!!
Excellent food and excellent service.
We Go there often and it is always the best. The food the atmosphere the servers. It’s a very friendly place and we really enjoy going there and always bring new people.
Dont soak the grilled shrimp in curry sauce. The shrimp with old bay is enough. Delicious! Butterscotch pudding is the best close to a terrific dinner.
Great food and service but noise level really needs to be lowered. You can hear people yelling to each to each other at other tables!!
overall review would be higher except noise level was absurd.
Better service than previous visit, and seemed like fuller staffing. Portions are huge, even for a meat-and-three diner. French fries were least successful side. Smoked brisket was good but could have been a touch moister. Would welcome some classic sandwich options (egg salad, ham salad, pimento cheese). Cookies and ice cream dessert also huge, so two cookies came home.
Service was a bit slow. Entrees came out lukewarm, not hot.
Some of our food was very good, especially the Mac and cheese and the Brussels sprouts. We both had brisket, I thought it was way too salty and had to cut off pieces of the seasoned coating for edible pieces. Pinot Noir was overpriced for quality and quantity poured. Cauliflower overwhelmed by the smokiness and the odd sauce it had. But overtaking all the good and mediocre food was the noice level it was almost painfully loud. They definitely need some sound deadening materials added for me to want to dine inside again. Menu had some promising offerings—might try again on day when we could eat outside because of Tom Seitsema’s good review.
