I would recommend The Rusty Pelican as the view was beautiful from our table. The service was excellent. Our server could not have been more attentive and helpful. My steak was excellent, the best I have had in Florida. However, the fish( snapper) my husband had was deep fried and fishy. So, skip the fish and order the steak and enjoy the sunset!
The steak was too salty definitely was not worth what we paid service was good food not so much
Amanda was amazing. The food was very good and flavorful. The lobster in the shrimp and lobster risotto was overdone. The wine selection was lacking. I would suggest a German Riesling. The ambiance seemed severely downgraded. The first time I went to this restaurant, the guests were appropriately dressed for this quality of establishment. This time I was seated next to people in shorts, ball caps and holes in their pants. I came in for a special occasion, if I would have wanted my special occasion to be with that type of crowd, I would have gone to Chili’s or Applebee’s. I understand that during this covid time business is business and they need to make the money. My suggestion is next time place customers dressed alike in the same dining area. For the amount of money spent on meals there, I expect a certain level of class in the establishment. Aside the from that, dinner was fantastic. I look forward to my next visit
We had a really nice dinner here. Was in town for a wedding. The service was phenomemal and the view was spectacular! We had a table right by the window on the water which was really nice. The food was just ok but not great.
The serve was friendly, the food was incredible. Great place for a friends get together for brunch or dinner. Would recommend this place and WILL be back!
Our server Jade was exemplary. She truly made us feel welcome. She was fun, polite, and truly exceeded our expectations. Jade is a keeper!!
The view was amazing and our waitress, Sandy, was top notch! We will definitely visit here again.
Owen was amazing. She was so great with our kids and made our experience memorable.
Our Server “Owen” was AMAZING, OUTSTANDING and went beyond to make us feel VERY Special...
💝🥰🥰🥰🥰💝
Food was ok, the risotto was a little mushy and side dishes were lackluster. The sticky toffee pudding was on point.
Great omelette and hash! The salmon was excellent. The salad needs more... lettuce and tomato for a $24 salad...expected more...can't beat the view!
This was our first time to the Rusty Pelican, and it was fabulous. The location is great as the view was beautiful. Our waitress Danielle was fantastic. Food and drinks were wonderful - we had the Crab Cake and Lobster Benedicts, with the bottomless mimosas. We will definitely be coming back!
Birthday was PERFECT
Beautiful place, outstanding view and good food!
We were treated extremely unprofessionally by someone who calls himself a manager of this establishment. He harassed one guest of our party as we were at the bar ordering drinks, waiting for our table to be ready. His issue was that one person in our party was standing at the bar, rather than sitting. He rudely addressed him, demanding that he can't be at the bar unless he is seated. The second issue was that another guest in our party walked to the bathroom without a mask on (the hallway to the bathroom was directly across from the bar, and you don't pass any tables on the way, in fact the bar is separated completely from the dining room, and no one else was around). The manager confronted us and threatened to kick us out for not following the rules and for "disrespect" when in fact the manager lacked any respect for the us, the paying customers, from the moment we entered. He could have found a more professional way to handle this situation. Needless to say, we left and went elsewhere and we will never return.
Dan (manager) was the man of the evening. He was very attentive to our problems and took care of each one. We were not really complaining so much as we wanted them to know. We ate the food, so we didn't expect anything for free, but he took care of it. If he had not listened to our concerns we would NOT be coming back, but because he genuinely knows patrons and what is expected he understood and took care of us- we will be coming back and giving it another try. We generally go with 2 strikes for dining experiences anyway.
Awesome place. Great vibe and we were given an awesome seat with a view of the bay
Upon arrival we were immediately welcomed, provided with recommendations and the food was excellent. Server was very attentive
Had the filet mignon and Caesar salad. Delicious!!
It was my wife’s birthday. We enjoyed our breakfast.
Grear restaurant and food. Wasnt a fan of all you can drink menu but everything else was great. French toast and chicken sausages amazing!! I will definitely visit again. Social distance was top priority. Rooms werent crowed at all. View of the water right at your finger tips. Love! Thank you.
Great atmosphere, terrible dinner. The food was unremarkable, zero wow factor. Overpriced.
Excellent! We had crab cakes, blackened scallops and conch fritters to start! All were incredibly tasty. We dined on NY STRIP, Mahi, grouper, salmon and sea bass. Every meal was phenomenal. Our waitress, Marina was very knowledgeable, friendly and service was great.
Portions are smaller, and the quality was pretty awful. They must have got different chefs. The only thing good is the corn bread. Service was great too, the waitress was patient and understanding when we complained about the food. Crab cake was not as good as it used to be, broccolini was over cooked and had no taste, mashed potato was worse than what you can get from grocery store, main entrees were just ok, we ordered sea bass and lobster/shrimp risotto. Very disappointed!
Very nice and romantic for a date or proposal. Will definitely be back.
I made a reservation for my wife’s 60th birthday and asked for a nice quiet table. We were seated in a banquet room next to a family with small children. Not what I asked for.
Amazing service
Great food and experience
Great scene for photo op.
Came here for a wedding before Covid and brought my family back for NYE celebrations. Although the menu was limited for this day, the food offerings were amazing. Desserts not so much. Service was good. Likely would come back on a regular day, and during the day so we could enjoy the view more.
Spent a lovely New Years Eve there with the family.
The service was exceptional and the server did a great job handling our family which included 4 girls (3 teens and 1 toddler).
The two champagne glasses for the adults was a nice touch.
One recommendation would be to offer teens the same with Apple Cider.
Food appetizers and entrees were great.
Desserts could have been better and they were cold.
Overall, great place.
The food wasn't great, but the service was extraordinary. I probably wouldn't go back for a prefixed menu.
New Year’s Eve Dinner
We have been several times and normally very good. For New Years we were seated in an overflow banquet room- not the normal restaurant. This is a room set up for wedding receptions. The two of us were seated at a round table made up for 6 - very odd and uncomfortable! The food was ok - but clearly not made to order rather is was prepared in mass ahead of time. Again like we attended a cheap wedding reception. There are many outstanding options for a $250 dinner for two in Tampa - and next time we will be dining elsewhere.
One of the best dinning experiences of our life. My wife and I not only celebrated the New Year but our 32 Wedding Anniversary! The meal and service was epic! We are definitely coming again!
First time to Rusty Pelican, definitely not our last. Their NYE special was absolutely fantastic!! Way more than we could have asked for. View was beautiful. Service, impeccable.
The service was excellent! The views of the gulf were great. We were there for the sunset, so it was a perfect backdrop. However, there were 3 of us in the party and we all found our main course to be dry and overcooked. I will definitely try it again on a non-holiday and see if that makes a difference.
Drinks from the bar were nice. We sat in an empty banquet room with rap music playing. Our appetizers took 45 minutes and our entrees took another 45 after that. Whole fried snapper came with no head, no tail, no fins. I basically paid $36 for a fried fish basket. Greens were wilted. Other people in our party ordered the feast for two. Extremely underwhelming and over priced. There is probably 50 restaurants much better than this for half the price in a ten mile radius.
Food was fantastic and so were drinks.
Service was very good but as a big fan of the Miami location, other than the service, this was a very disappointing experience. Although romantically lit from the fireplace and having a nice enough view, the place is tired. Putting that aside and even worse is the emotionless food which was the real let down.
The highlights-onion soup and the sticky toffee pudding that was the ugliest yet best tasting recipe of this classic dessert that I have had. The dry crab cake that is not the one pictured on the website (with the corn that we love from Miami), the snapper that was poorly cooked and bland and the creme brûlée which had an over cooked hard custard were all very disappointing. Btw-the cornbread is not worth the carbs either. Such a shame....we were excited.
It’s time for a refresh. Maybe go benchmark the Miami location.
So disappointed in our visit. A phone call from management would be helpful 9012372193
We had heard so many wonderful things about the Rusty Pelican Restaurant. But we were not impressed at all. Seems to be overpriced for the menu items for brunch. We were disappointed. We will probably try it again in the future for dinner but will pass on brunch in the future.
