Very good food and experience overall. Our waiter was new and a bit inexperienced but he responded well when needed.
Service and food were excellent and the view was outstanding. The only issue was that there were little children screaming and when you go to a place such as this, I would not have expected that. Overall = Outstanding dinner out celebrating our anniversary.
Terrible, terrible experience - took over an hour to get our food and noise level was atrocious. There was a birthday group in the main dining room that kept yelling and whooping and management did absolutely nothing about it. When we complained all they said was that they didn’t notice the noise and that the food delay was due to them overbooking for brunch which backed up the kitchen. We rarely leave reviews but this was so bad we thought other should be warned.
Food and service was amazing, my only complaint was that my reservation was split into 2 tables even though I had booked the reservation over a week before, so food came out at separate times and being that the reservation was for a birthday brunch, would have liked to have everyone together.
With mom visiting from out of town we had a great Sunday brunch. Food was excellent and portions were generous. Our server was wonderful; service was prompt and she accommodated requests without comment. Arrive early otherwise have a reservation to avoid a long wait.
Beautiful views, great service and food. Can’t wait to go back!
Very nice, quiet, food was great and portions were substantial. Unique choices for brunch.
Its been a great while since we visited since covid but the menu was different and I wanted chicken but they were out so decided on the fish. It wasn't that great but the restaurant is so amazing and service outstanding. I was a bit embarrassed because I chose the restaurant. For my birthday and they forgot the creme brulee since it was my birthday.
Parking was a problem, but we were early and a wedding was just getting over.
The Rusty Pelican had great reviews online so we chose this place to have a nice dinner at. I had the stuffed grouper and to be honest, I've had better at other places for a fraction of the price. My husband had the snapper and said it was just "ok". The drinks were good and the ambiance and view were great, but we didn't feel the quality of the food justified the cost.
Absolutely perfect place to eat. Beautiful environment. Only thing is parking lot needs some work.
Brunch was poor in quality. Food wasn’t worth the over an hour of waiting.. if you are into chicken & waffles maybe.. just maybe.
But if you haven’t been in places to compare, location maybe nice.
It is cheap for “ high end brunch” I guess you get what you paid for..
Our waitress did everything on her power to improve the experience.. we appreciate it.
The cornbread was the best I've ever had, pan seared scallops appetizer was delicious, me and my BFF shared our meals and both were very good, we got a perfectly cooked NY strip steak with lobster tail (lobster tail was small and arrived a bit after our meal so I'm not sure it was worth the extra $15), we also had crabmeat stuffed grouper with risotto which was very good,
followed by a delicious creme brulee dessert. Overall a great meal.
Our waiter was outstanding!! Please tell him we enjoyed our meal and the excellent service. He’s a very nice young man. The only issue with the restaurant is the noice level is really up there.
It was nice place.
Once again another 5 star dining experience at the Rusty Pelican
Food was amazing, service incredible and beautiful place!!!! 100% going back
Food was amazing, and Carmens service was impeccable. Amazing experience.
Megan our server took great care of us! Our meal were fabulous (as always) and we both had the crab stuffed grouper. Got a free creme brûlée for hubby’s birthday which was a nice touch. Don the mgr came over to check on us at least three times. We told him we were very happy.
9 years anniversary!
Three out of four of our meals were pretty good. The fourth meal was sent back twice because the filet was overcooked then under cooked quite a bit. The blackened Thai rice was not a good choice for a side because there was no flavor. Noise wasn’t the best because a few kids running around making noise for the type of restaurant it was. Could hear the music in the dining area from a wedding going on in the banquet room when you would think that for the ambiance it should have been more relaxing. Would be willing to try again if in the area but wouldn’t be my first choice.
Alex was excellent! Great service all around! Food was great! Steak cooked perfectly. A rare find!
Our server was great! And even though it was storming all day, the view cannot be beat! We saw dolphins the entire time. Everything was super delicious. Excited to come back
This was our second time eating here. We loved it the first time but was very disappointed this time. We were sat at a nice table with the incredible view. We waited 15 min. to get our drinks. Another 45 min. for our appetizer and another 45 min. for our main meal. The food tasted fishy and was not the same quality we had remembered only a few weeks ago. It was very busy and looked like they were severely understaffed but I can honestly say the food is not worth the wait. Not sure if we’ll be returning.
We arrived at 11:15 for our reservation. We waited in the bar area until 12:30. At the time, it was not an issue. There was a large party that seemed to cause some chaos. However, after seated it took forever to get anything. I actually had to ask for bread, we were starving. Turns out, you don’t offer it!
Had not been to RP in years. This will be our last visit. The views save it!
Food wasn’t that great. Neither was the service. Didn’t even get my water refilled. Food was Luke warm and chicken had no flavor.
We had a wonderful experience at the Rusty Pelican. The food was fantastic and the view was incredible.
I have never had to leave a review before. It was my mom’s 60th birthday and we made dinner reservations in hopes of a great experience, however, that was not the case. Her chicken that she ordered was completely dry and the vegetables were raw. My sister’s grouper was not cooked thoroughly and was raw, and my other sister’s calamari appetizer was extremely greasy and fried extra hard. The manager comped the items but I was very disappointed, because of all the complaints from my whole party and because it was my mom’s special day and I had chose the restaurant. The service was mediocre for the price of everything on the menu. You may need to look into more dinner options in the future because it’s a nice place. The only good thing was the ambiance and beautiful view.
We were celebrating my wife's birthday. I made a reservation for 7:15 and still had to wait at least 15-20 minutes for our table. I told our server, Courtney, that we were celebrating my wife's birthday and she advised she would do something special for dessert. The meal was good, however, when we did order dessert it took at least 40 minutes to receive which was very disappointing. Courtney did apologize, but nothing further, she did nothing extra to make up for the extreme time delay. She should of at least offered to take it off the bill or something and nothing was offered. Of all the places to choose to celebrate we chose Rusty Pelican, but never again. The attention to detail and the customer just was not there and for spending over a couple hundred dollars service should be outstanding.
I ordered the fillet mignon, medium, and broccoli. They were totally out of veggies, so I went without, but ordered a side my wife wanted so she could have two sides (which was a good thing-keep reading). Wife also ordered fillet, medium rare. Mine came out medium rare, which I ate and enjoyed, but my wife's was barely cooked. She'll eat fillet if it's been run through a warm room, but this was bad. She sent it back, they cooked it longer but came back still very rare and also with a very bad burnt taste on the outside. They said they'd just make her another one from scratch, but then came back out a few minutes later to ask if we'd just rather have it comped. So we agreed to that and just decided to leave. Can't remember ever leaving a restaurant review, good or bad, but leaving this because I expect more from $42 fillets.
We went as a family of 4. The noise level was off the chart loud! We were seated at a window table which was a very nice, water view. The server was very nice. My husband ordered a smoked old fashioned and loved it. Our daughters and I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich at $17 each. My husband got a burger. We received our sandwich and the chicken was so tough and overcooked we could barely eat it! Extremely disappointing. Also, that old fashioned? Said $16 on the menu which is already over priced, but then they charged us $18. When I brought it to her attention she apologized but didn’t fix it. Not sure why. We wouldn’t mind the over $100 bill if the food were good, but it was awful.
The food was amazing I went for brunch and we ate everything off our plates . Staff was super professional and helpful
Although the place looks very nice, its too loud to enjoy anything. The food is below expectation. Not worth it at all.
The service was extremely poor. It was our first visit, so this may not be reflective of the service usually given at this restaurant. Danielle was our server, she introduced herself and stated that Kyle (who was in training) would be assisting her. We sat there for quite some time before she even acknowledged us. She took our appetizer order, did not offer bread (which was excellent , btw) for the table until I asked for it. The appetizers came, also excellent, I believe brought by Kyle. They did not take our main course order for at least an additional 15-20 minutes and I had to flag her down to get her to come back to the table! The entrees took at least 20-30 minutes to arrive. Danielle did not come back to the table to explain why there was a delay until I flagged her down again. A good server would have kept us informed of why there was a delay without me having to ask. She explained that a power surge caused the delay for our entrees. Reasonable explanation, but I shouldn’t have to flag her down for that information. You would think that Danielle was an experienced server who knows how to take care of customers properly if she is given the task of actually training someone. Such was not the case in this instance.
On the positive side, the ambiance was nice, the view was awesome and the food was spectacular. I will have to give this restaurant another visit at some point. The food and the view were too good to not give it another try!
Very good service. Enjoyable time
One of the best views in Tampa. Great ambience. The Chilean seas bass was amazing. The boards looked amazing. The smokey old fashioned was amazing.
Service was a little slow and the worst part was the stone crab claws were close to 90 dollars and they smelled horribly spoiled Really ruined our meal.
Carmen was fantastic. Exceptional knowledge of Celiac to ensure a safe dining experience from cocktails through dessert. Food was great and can’t wait to go back.
We made at 7:45 reservation and was still waiting at 8:30. Host was rude. Server was very nice.
Excellent food and service. Beautiful setting. Pricing is a little high but a good experience. A hidden gem worth discovery.
The view was outstanding and service was great. Food was a little cold for my primerib.
