Rusty Pelican Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Overall a really good experience. Reservation was for 715 we arrive about 705. Seated at 712. Waiter was great, greeted us right away, explained the specials and answered any questions. Drinks were prompt and a really good pour. Food was good and tasty. The table was right at the window with great views of the bay and passing boats. We will be back.
The food was great and the atmosphere was lovely. However, we ended up paying more for a couple of specials than anticipated. Our waiter spoke too fast and we failed to ask the market price on the specials. Obviously, we were shocked when we received our bill.
Excellent dining experience! Our waiter Brandon was great, finally a polite, funny and attentive server. Great menu, hard to pick with so many selections. The evening's special Chilean Sea Bass was delish. This restaurant is one of the best in the Landry's Corp. group, compared to others, M&S's, they operate. Best restaurant experience in a while!
First time in Rusty Pelican. January 1st,2018. Order oysters, soups and chili an sea bass.
Oysters were fresh and good.
Clam chowder and crab soups just average and not warm enough. Very dissapointed with fish. We attended this restaurant because we love this fish. Cook had no idea how to prepare this expensive fish. Fat was not cut off, over the fish a lot of strange looking sauce that kill taste. Very bad experience. Awful food.will not coming back again.
Exceptional restaurant with food, service, and ambience to match. The regular ladies bathroom could use another stall or two but I wouldn't let that keep me away. An all-around delightful experience, including the valet staff who are always very helpful and attentive.
We came for New Year's Eve. What a delight. Food was fantastic. Server, top notch. Brooke L - we will be asking for you when we return. We hadn't been in a long time. Rusty Pelican is definitely a fine dining experience! Going back for no special occasion next time, going for the outstanding service, food, and ambiance.
Returned to Rusty Pelican after being out of state over 40 years . The restaurant is still as good as I remembered it. The entire staff was friendly and attentive and the seafood was excellent. Our waitress Kelly is one in million and made our evening one we will never forget. Thank You.
Made reservations for lunch a week ahead although probably not necessary. Only valet parking but it is inexpensive ($3-5).
Nice waterfront location, good service. The menus is 95% seafood.
I had the swordfish topped with crab which was just OK.
The worst thing we all four commented on was the bread. It was so dry and tough.
It crumbled in your hand if you tried to tear it.
Others had a Cobb salad which she said was good. Coconut shrimp and a steak salad.
Go for the location, not the food.
A family favorite! We had reservations for 7 and they had a nice cornor table waiting when we arrived. The mirror on back walks allows everyone dining a beautiful view of the bay and boats crusing by. The food was fantastic. From the crab cakes and garlic bread to the clam chowder, steak, salmon, swordfish and Mahi mahi every thing was prepared uniquely with yummy veggies rice or relishes. We celebrated my sons birthday and their white chocolate ice cream treat was a hit. Been going here for over 25 years and this chef really is the best.
This was a wonderful dining experience. The Rusty Pelican was always one of my favorite restaurants when I lived In Orange County. I hadn't been back in years, so it was extremely satisfying to find it still offering the same high quality service and delicious food.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at the Rusty Pelican. Our table was great. The service was excellent. The food was great. The garlic bread was so decadent, dripping with butter and garlic. Our server recommended the Russian River Chardonnay which was the best choice to accompany the Chilean Sea Bass, Oscar style (topped with lump crab, asparagus, hollandaise sauce). This was one of the best dinners that I have had in a long time.
