The food and service was very good and professional
I would recommend more for the ambiance and view than the food.
As usual, the Rusty Pelican's seafood was great. We were there at lunch and so it was relatively quiet.
Our first time to visit on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was packed and very noisy. Perhaps it's always like that or maybe it was the holiday weekend, but we'll be sure to pick a quieter time the next time.
Rusty Pelican, always a great place to have brunch, drinks or hang out upstairs at the bar. The outside patio also great place eat by the marina, Dock N Dine, boat watch while having Champagne
Great birthday brunch for my daughter and I. Waitress brought a special desert with candle without me asking.
A group of couples went to this restaurant for a date night meal on a Saturday night and I LOVED it! This place was delicious! The food and service were great. I had the sea bass since it was in season and it was the best fish I had all weekend.
Rusty Pelican is a great date night restaurant, the restaurant faces the harbor which means there’s not a bad seat in the whole restaurant. Service is great! And the food is great too, their garlic bread is definitely a must order item. The crab risotto is ridiculously good. All in all just a great spot to wine and dine!
Wonder and the view of the docks is beautiful
The food was superb, environment was beautiful, overall fantastic experience. Would highly recommend for a high quality date or special occasion. Pricing was on the higher end, but everything we tried was cooked and prepared expertly and well worth the expense. The Chilean Sea Bass special had one of the best sauces I've ever tried.
This is my favorite restaurant. The food is great, the service is great ( Brandon was very attentive), and the atmosphere is very comfortable.
If you are looking for a great restaurant, The Rusty Pelican is a perfect choice.
Waiter was amazing. Food was perfect.
We go there for special occasions. It’s a very nice place with good food, nice atmosphere, a harbor view and good service.
A great Price Fixe menu for Valentines Day
Went for Valentines Day and although the Price Fixe menu was not a ‘bargain’, it was a delicious variety of seafood items. Loved the calimari and chowder, and the swordfish and Maui were awesome.
Was surprising my date with a new car gift, and since it was only two hours old didn’t want to use Parking valet. Was told to park on the street, even with a mostly empty lot before 5pm. Okay-
Always enjoyed outdoor dining with beautiful view of the Newport harbor. The seafood is always fresh and perfectly grilled and presented. Service was excellent as usual.
Manager Kim was always there to greet her customers with a warm welcome and beautiful smile. She is attentive yet personal. Thank you for keeping Rusty Pelican the same way all these years ..
Was for Valentines and they did not rush you and our food and service was GREAT.
Food was very bland. Nothing special, particularly for the price. Won’t be back.
Food was good, a bit disappointed though. I asked if my dish was gluten free, I got sick that night due to an uniformed server.
Last night in the OC. Menu was more limited than usual per our waiter, as it was tailored to Valentines Day. Plenty of choices however and the service was excellent.
Took my husband there for getting promoted after 4 months on his new job so we celebrated!
service and food were excellent. Enjoyed the view of the harbor and boats. Went to bar upstairs after dinner. Very enjoyable.
Rusty Pelican is a five star casual attire fine dining waterfront experience . EVERYTHING was phenomenal ! Garlic bread is a must. Caesar salad perfect. Oysters awesome, salmon delicious!
Our experience was disappointing. We went to have fresh fish and they only had sea bass. Food was mass produced because of Valentines Day weekend. If we had known we wouldn’t have gone. Servers were nice.
Hi this was my second time dining at Rusty Pelican and I was disappointed. I felt the service was pretty average and the fish choice quite limiting. The kids menu was good but it fell down when it came to desert - we were told by waitress 'no kids deserts' when I probed her to see if she could provide a bowl of ice cream I was told 'we only have vanilla'. So we didn't have desert and went to an ice cream shop instead. Took an age to pay the bill as the waitress was too busy, so all in all I would not return which is a shame.
Excellent food, very good service, beautiful location and view. This place has it all. Definitely recommend it.
We had an amazing meal of maui and swordfish. Cooked to perfection
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Every time it is amazing. The bread is from the local French Bakery a block away. They use it to make the garlic bread which is a must try. They specialize in fish which is always fresh and prepared to perfection. However my kids are not fans of fish, but they have other items on the menu to satisfy their picky tastes. The service has always been perfect. For the location they are unbeatable. They are on my favorite list!
We live in San Diego but always look forward to coming to NPB and eating at the Rusty Pelican! Without question, they have the best all-around seafood menu in SoCal. They have a nice variety of fish and shellfish and their calamari is to die for! Othe seafood restaurants have one or two choices of fish and maybe 3 shellfish choices. Here you will get a much greater selection and the best part is they don't overcook the fish!!!
