Great food thats quality and fresh! We ordered a lot of different dishes to try. My favorite was the seabass with squash and heirloom tomatoes. Also calimari amd cajon shrimp are delish! Try the orange blossom martini!
Great service and very accommodating of a family with a toddler and an infant with a carseat! Delicious brunch food - highly recommend the crab eggs Benedict.
After waiting for about 20 minutes past our reservation time, we were shown to a table next to the emergency exit door. It was freezing there. To their credit, they finally turned down the air conditioning and sent an appetizer to the table as an apology. The wait staff was very attentive. The food was mediocre for the price. We will not be returning.
Do not go on a rainy day, seating capacity is a challenge. Although we had a reservation we had to wait 35+ minutes.
The food was very good.
Beautiful waterfront view and the sea bass was amazing! I will definitely return. A reservation is a must!
We were disappointed that everything we had was very greasy or heavily breaded. The flavor of the food was masked. Since this is a fresh fish place I expected the flavors to come through more but didn't.
It was OC Restaurant week and we were looking forward to the special menu options available. The service was horrible. The waitress kept trying to upsell us by asking us if we wanted extra items without mentioning there was an additional charge. The sourdough bread was not fresh. It seemed like it was just heated up after sitting out for a while, so it was hard. My lunch was served with the incorrect vegetable. So she left me with the fish and brought the requested vegetable a long while afterwards. I had long finished my fish by that point. The fish was just adequate. The only redeeming food item was the chocolate torte, which was delicious. We had told the manager we had to get back to lunch, so she brought our bill. Then it took forever for the waitress to pick it up and provide the change. To top it all off, the incorrect change was returned. Fed up and not wanting to be there anymore, I went to find the manager. Unfortunately, I could not find her but did find another waitress who tried to help us. This was a very disappointing experience!!! Too many other good restaurant choices in Newport Beach to have to suffer thru this experience.
Enjoyed our meals and the ambiance. Service was excellent!
Excellent food, service and setting! A beautiful dinner!!
We came here for a seafood lunch with an ocean view. Service was great, food was great and view was great ,, all was great.
We went to Rusty Pelican because we had heard how good it is and decided to take advantage of Restaurant Week. The three course special was outstanding and the service was excellent.
Nice view, good service and fresh seafood!
Great food, lovely view. Would go again. Sat by the door, not so brilliant.
The restaurant is next to ocean with a very nice and pleasant view. The food is very fresh and setting is beautiful. Everyone in the party had a good time there.
Make a reservation but call just before to confirm a table is ready or not...most likely it won't be ready...took 40 min after our 8pm reservation to be seated. Also, live music is way too loud and a large party was celebrating a birthday in a raucous and rowdy way...the F bombs were too much for our three kids. Having a Landry's card didn't help at all in getting seated timely.
The restaurant was overwhelmed with a party of 20 just before we arrived. Our reservation was for 7:45. We finally went upstairs to the bar at 8:30 to continue waiting. We were finally seated upstairs at 9:00. The waitress was very apologetic, and the restaurant comped us with a very good appetizer for the late seating.
The food is wonderful, but the music upstairs is too loud and makes it difficult to have a conversation. It is better to be seated downstairs.
We had a great time. The food was fantastic. There were seven of us and each had a different entree. All of them were great. I would highly recomment this restaurant.
Our go to place for fresh seafood, great steaks and great atmosphere. Laid back beach attitude with a bit of fine dining. Fresh fish daily and able to accommodate special requests. The manager noticed we had a plate of fresh spinach, he commented that he missed the spinach salad they once had and returned with the original recipe of warmed bacon and red onion dressing for that long lost salad. It was absolutely incredible.
Beautiful views of Marina. Excellent Brunch. Nice and friendly staff.
If you like seafood, it doesn't get any better than the Rusty Pelican in Newport Beach. Our party of 5 at a Sunday brunch had outstanding service (Hailey), excellent food and terrific ambiance. Hailey introduced us to char, a wonderful fish that looks like salmon and tastes similar to trout combined with a lemon, caper sauce, it was fantastic.
Sea bass was delicious! Sides dishes were so good. Our waitress, Hannah, was so amazing!!
We had reservations but arrived early and rather than wait, decided to eat at the open bar seating. It was generally nice until about 7:30 when it became a very noisy bar crowd. People hovered waiting for our table. Service wasn't the best. Our waitress brought our bill almost immediately upon bringing our desserts - didn't ask if we wanted any additional drinks. Clearly, wanted to move the table for other patrons (even though the table next to us had been there longer and were not even ordering food). Wonder if service would have been better downstairs if we'd waited for our reservation seating. Food was very good and we would go back - just would not sit in the bar.
Truly an incredible fine dining experiance. As soon as you enter the front door it is obvious everyone is a consumat professional.
Inviting no rush atmosphere and exquisite food and drinks.
Dino and Jake were our servers, our every expectation was met with only our every pleasure in mind.
Looking forward to another great time soon!
Absolutely delicious and beautiful!
The food and service was very good and professional
I would recommend more for the ambiance and view than the food.
As usual, the Rusty Pelican's seafood was great. We were there at lunch and so it was relatively quiet.
Our first time to visit on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was packed and very noisy. Perhaps it's always like that or maybe it was the holiday weekend, but we'll be sure to pick a quieter time the next time.
Rusty Pelican, always a great place to have brunch, drinks or hang out upstairs at the bar. The outside patio also great place eat by the marina, Dock N Dine, boat watch while having Champagne
Great birthday brunch for my daughter and I. Waitress brought a special desert with candle without me asking.
A group of couples went to this restaurant for a date night meal on a Saturday night and I LOVED it! This place was delicious! The food and service were great. I had the sea bass since it was in season and it was the best fish I had all weekend.
Rusty Pelican is a great date night restaurant, the restaurant faces the harbor which means there’s not a bad seat in the whole restaurant. Service is great! And the food is great too, their garlic bread is definitely a must order item. The crab risotto is ridiculously good. All in all just a great spot to wine and dine!
Wonder and the view of the docks is beautiful
The food was superb, environment was beautiful, overall fantastic experience. Would highly recommend for a high quality date or special occasion. Pricing was on the higher end, but everything we tried was cooked and prepared expertly and well worth the expense. The Chilean Sea Bass special had one of the best sauces I've ever tried.
This is my favorite restaurant. The food is great, the service is great ( Brandon was very attentive), and the atmosphere is very comfortable.
If you are looking for a great restaurant, The Rusty Pelican is a perfect choice.
Waiter was amazing. Food was perfect.
We go there for special occasions. It’s a very nice place with good food, nice atmosphere, a harbor view and good service.
A great Price Fixe menu for Valentines Day
Went for Valentines Day and although the Price Fixe menu was not a ‘bargain’, it was a delicious variety of seafood items. Loved the calimari and chowder, and the swordfish and Maui were awesome.
Was surprising my date with a new car gift, and since it was only two hours old didn’t want to use Parking valet. Was told to park on the street, even with a mostly empty lot before 5pm. Okay-
