This was not my first time at The Rusty Pelican. I have frequent the restaurant over the past 20 years. Always a go to for special occasions, in the past my dining experience has always been great and memorable. However on this occurrence, the service was slow and not up to standard. There was a large party in the table next to us, and all the attention and detail was given to them. They definitely received a better and more prompt service. This was intended to be a congratulatory dinner for my daughter and her boyfriend on their recent engagement. I was disappointed to say the least. Lastly, yes I would recommend because this was one bad experience out of many others that were not.
Very slow service.
I celebrated my birthday here. The server knew the menus well. Everyone was welcoming and very accommodating. I was an hour late and decreased my party size and they still sat us. We always was asked if we wanted an outside table once it became available but we enjoy our inside table.
Service was subpar.
The food was terrible! The lobster tasted like Clorox, and overall it wasn't a good experience. Plus it was quite expensive for what it was. The only thing worth it was the view. We're never going back!
Great experience overall. From the waiter to the servers, the attention was phenomenal. The food was delightful and very flavorful. Enjoyed Octopus and crab cakes as well as the sweet corn from the appetizer menu. For the main course the Chilean Sea Bass with mashed sweet plantains was an incredible explosion of flavor. Finished with lemon merengue pie and the amazing view of the Miami Skyline. Definitely recommend it!
Excellent service. Superb quality dining experience and amazing views of downtown Miami. Brunch is fantastic. Jennifer is great.
I have been going to the Rusty Pelican for over 35 years. Unfortunately, it has lost all of its original charm and has turned into a high priced tourist trap. The best thing going for it are the views of Miami. The menu is weak and not cohesive, and cocktails at eighteen dollars and up a bit much.
Great service. My server was excellent. Grace was nice to accommodate ocean view seat. My snapper was great . Margarita was A+
The food was very good, the service was excellent and the view was awesome
I know I gave the Rusty Pelican 5 stars and rated it as "outstanding", even though it's not, but by Miami standards it's pretty darn good, just a little pricey. I was there recently for dinner, and as always, the view is incomparable. The service was strong. The food was very good, certainly not gourmet, but very good. Face it, although Miami Dade has tons of restaurants, not many are really very good. Actually some of my favorites are small, neighborhood places. But Rusty Pelican compares favorably and rates highly among the large, upscale, pricey places. The views, alone, make it a must-go place either with a date or with out-of-town company.
It was my mom’s birthday and it was memorable for her.
As always the ambiance view and food is perfect for a beautiful morning brunch
Excellent service and food!
Sit outside if you can, absolutely beautiful. I can't remember our server's name but he was charming, efficient and made our brunch perfect.
The service was great and so was the food. We had an amazing view, but the hostess was absolutely horrible.
Worst hostess I have ever encountered in my life. She rolled her eyes at my mother and took a double-take when my mother politely asked if it rains if we could move to a more covered table. She then began to complain about us to a waiter in Spanish. She needs immediate reprimanding.
Our first time to the Rusty Pelican but the food, service, ambiance and the waterfront view of Miami was great. It was a bit expensive but worth the price. I will definitely go back the next time I am in the area.
Great food and amazing ambience. Sautéed clam appetizer was among the best we e ever had. Outside eating is beautiful!
We sat outside to take in the views, but the service was mediocre and the food arrived cold. Thanks
Rusty Pelican never disappoints. Food was fabulous, as was the service. The restaurant has amazing views of Miami skyline and sunsets.
We have not visited this establishment for almost 30 years and we were not happy with that experience.
This visit was very different. The food was excellent and the service was very good. I have to commend our waiter
Douglas. Pleasant and attentive. We would be happy to return.
Worst meal I have had in a while, and so expensive!
the view was spectacular!! Ask to seat outside. Don't forget to order the Sea bass and cake with oreo ice cream.
The waitress completely forgot our appetizers, so the food service was delayed, also he wasn’t checking on us on a regular basis , we had to call twice other waitress for assistance
My server was excellent and the staff was so coordinated. Everything ran smoothly and our food was served relatively fast. I found the snapper a little dry, but the bass was awesome. Ocerall it was a great experience.
It was amazing but you have to be careful with your choice of food
I would recommend for food but the enforced valet parking at 6 dollars is outrageous. It should be a choice especially when you pay their prices which represent good food and views but should not be a ‘rule’ as I was told
Just another way to cream off the customers
Nice place and service and tasty food!!
Thank you for joining us. We hope you'll come and see us again soon.
Breath taking views of the Miami sky line at night, friendly staff and awesome food!! Totally recommend!
Thanks for sharing. We hope to see you back soon.
A beautiful sunset, great food and service. We sat inside due to the wind but wish we had sat outside. Had a beautiful table by the window but then went out for pictures. The food was perfectly cooked. We had the sea bass and the halibut. Both melted in your mouth. The burrata salad with peaches was excellent. Key lime pie was good too. All in all, a nice place for an anniversary or special occasion. We had Richard as our server and he was outstanding!
Thank you for coming and sharing your experience. We'll send Richard your regards. See you back soon!
Sat right on the water, food came quickly and was phenomenal. Atmosphere was great. All around amazing experience.
So glad you enjoyed yourself. We hope you will come and visit us again soon.
The best view of Miami. It's a classic you never be upset. And the classics are always trendy.
Best location 5 stars and good service however the food was average
Restaurant ambience and view were spectacular! Food was delicious but pricey. Dessert for birthday girl was beautiful and tasted fantastic!
Outdoor patio was closed and the noise level inside was really loud. We had a reservation, but had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. When we sat, chair and silverware were dirty. Service was poor.
The food was incredible and the view is spectacular. We went for Sunday brunch. For appetizers we got the ceviche and short rip empanadas which were both great and for meals we got the Cacio e Pepe with salmon and Tuna Tartine and both were spectacular. Will definitely be back!
The service was exceptional, the staff went out of their way to make our dining experience memorable.
Great food & scenic !
Thanks for visiting. Hope to see you back soon.
For a fine dining establishment and a fancy dinner you can kiss that goodbye. Went on a Friday night for a romantic dinner and enjoy the scenery and for some reason not sure what has happened because a couple years ago that’s how it was. The music was so loud that we couldn’t here ourselves think. The waiter had to scream at us to hear us and place our order. We felt as if we where at a nightclub having dinner. Next time I want happy hour. I know I can go there, but for fine dining not anymore.
We went there for lunch and it's such a beautiful venue.
They closed down the entire parking lot forcing people to Valet at an additional $6.
Food was good and fresh. There's an upstairs venue that's beautiful for events too!
