Best fancy date night ever!
It was Valentine’s Day dinner.
The Rustic Root was delicious! Arrived early to have a drink at the rooftop bar and were blown away by the basil cocktail.
The ribeye and lobster pappardelle pasta were to die for!
Excellent service, delicious bread, and very well prepared fresh halibut and lobster pasta. Fun atmosphere and good food
Great food, waiters were very attentive
We picked this place as a last minute brunch spot.
Our seat preference was accommodated as well as our dietary restrictions.
We both had a bunless burger with a fried egg on top. My friend doesn’t like yolks and they were kind to just to fried egg whites for her which was so nice.
We also didn’t want the fries and both received a generous amount of mixed greens instead.
Service was quick. The food was spectacularly delicious! I would most definitely stop by again when I’m back in San Diego.
Most of the food we ordered was not as expected. Low quality ingredients with prices of high quality food. Don’t think I’ll be going back. Decent service.
First time dining there. The food was so good, the drinks were tasty and our server was so nice. Great atmosphere too!
I have dined at Rustic Root numerous times however, my guest and I wanted to try a new dish. Our server recommended his favorites, and they did not disappoint. The server was very attentive and checked back a couple of time to ensure we were pleased. This is a great spot to dine for any occasion, and everyone from the hostess to the servers are superb.
Best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had.
For whatever reason some of these nice restaurants in Gastown think that diners eating a nice expensive meal like to scream at each other over the loud music they play. The food here is fantastic and so is the service but the ambiance is not. Trying to enjoy my dinner and screaming at my friends over the thumping loud music is not how I would want to spend my evening.
My review is for the main dining room. The upstairs bar is great, too, though the noise level is much higher. Food and service are world class.
Kyle was our server and he was AMAZING! We had a party of 10 ladies and that’s not an easy group to handle but he did it so well! The only complaint I would have is that it was very chilly inside the downstairs dining room. It was about 60° out this night and the doors were open. Everything else was very enjoyable!
Always consistently great!
Great service and great food
Just a wonderful place to sit back and enjoy some appetizers and drinks! Every staff is there to take care of you!
Great service & food quality as always. Staff is always friendly.
The crab bisque tasted rather fishy. The lamb that appeared (stew with bulgur served in a pan without a plate?) was not what I had imagined when reading the menu. The lamb itself was on the chewy side... At 30$ for the dish, clearly a disappointment. I was never asked whether I wanted dessert, coffee... Will not go back. On top of that, two tv screens on a sports channel.
New Year’s Eve but not worth the price and they won’t modify to allergies especially gluten free
The experience was good. We didn't realize that they were going to add a tip on to the bill prior to paying. Not a big issue but odd being that there was only two of us.
Great experience for New Years Eve with a group of 6. Server was outstanding, everyone loved their food, ambiance was super cool without being too much.
My husband and I been coming to this restaurant few times now. I never expected new year's eve menu to change to 90$ per person. No heads up before arriving, nothing. Overpriced and the food was not what we expected. We took the chance due to our past experiences with the restaurant. We spend 300$ for small portions not worth what we usually spend during our visit. Dont go to this place during holidays, save your money and time.
My boyfriend and I went for New Year’s Eve dinner. I thought it was way overpriced due to the food wasn’t that great. I understand it was a holiday but if you’re going to charge that much it better be good food. The service wasn’t that great either. We got our first course before we even got our cocktails or a glass of water. If anything I learned to not over pay on a holiday
Wish we lived in San Diego so we could dine at Rustic Roots more often!! We had a fabulous meal with terrific service. You will truly miss out if you don’t dine here!! - Back to Seattle
Nice venue and great food
Great food. Great drinks. Great service. Like always!
The food was extremely bland and it tasted like it had been sitting out all day. Extremely disappointed in this meal and we spent over $200, as it was a fixed menu for Christmas. We were so excited but left feeling like we wasted money. The server was also slow / nonexistent and wasn't busy at all.
Great atmosphere, very good food, with excellent supporting service.
Dinner started off great until a table sat outside. So the server left the door open. This made the restaurant very cold and uncomfortable. I asked 2 different servers to close the door and they would and then another would leave it open. Also at this time it got busy and we were left sitting for quite some time. Empty glasses and plates on our table. Quite a few people walked by but no one helped us. Most of the meal was great but the lobster pappardelle was not all that I hoped it would be. The filet was fantastic. The firecracker shrimp, the bread with garlic butter were also fantastic. The holiday cocktail was wonderful. The pasta was sad and didn’t have much lobster. Would have sent it back but he was almost done with his dinner by the time someone came back around. I understand it was busy and Christmas Eve but no excuse for that.
Food was delicious. We made a reservation on Opentable and when we arrived we were sat immediately. Our food came out promptly and we all enjoyed our food. I had the salmon Benedict which comes on a potatoe latke instead of English muffin. My family had the gingerbread man pancakes and the lemon meringue French toast. All was great!
Darius was a great server!!! Stellar service and some great food in the gas lamp! Definitely a great brunch!
All servers were nice and all food was delicious!
Server was excellent. Disappointed that the menu online didn’t match what was on the menu when we got there.
Thanksgiving Dinner while on vacation in San Diego. Delicious 3 course meal with many options. All of it was so good!
Food and service was exceptional, my only complaint was that the regular menu was not available (even after checking and being told it was). That said what we did choose from Thanksgiving menu was delicious.
Such a great restaurant! We were in town and chose to come here for Thanksgiving dinner. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was comfortable and our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning to check out the rooftop next trip.
Made a reservation for 4. We really enjoyed ourselves. We went for the Thanksgiving dinner 3 course meal. We were a bit dissatisfied that the vegetarian dish price was the same as the other entrees, but other than that it was tasty and filling.
The food tasted good, but my food was warm/ cold when it arrived.
