Russo's New York Pizzeria - Tennessee
Have not received my points for going to Russo’s! Waiter told me that they don’t use Open Table anymore!
We took a break from this restaurant because we were not pleased with the service on several occasions over the last
two years or so. We used to frequent it often. This past weekend we decided to revisit. Our server was attentive and apologetic and my review is not a reflection of her at all. She was great. However, the restaurant was fairly empty at 6:00 on a Sunday evening and we waited for our entrees for an obnoxiously excessive period of time. Whatever management had going on behind the scenes to cause such a poor experience needs to be fixed. We won’t be going back anytime soon if at all. We really used to love this place. It’s unfortunate.
First time brunch. Delicious! Started off with the avocado bruschetta then had the Parma flat bread and the bolzano. Awesome food and the prices were super reasonable. Can't wait to come back and try new dishes.
Excellent food and service. This very much feels like a family restaurant. A hidden gem.
Could not be seated for our reservation. Numerous guests were walking out without ordering food saying they could not get service. After 20 minutes of waiting for our table, we walked out as well.
The food was good, but it didn’t come out hot. The food came out of the kitchen in a weird order. We ordered 3 starters, but we got only 2 of our 4 entrees before any starters arrived. Then the 3rd entree came with the first starter and 4th entree came with the 2nd starter. We never got our last entree. When our bill arrived, we were charged for an extra drink and the starter that never arrived. Since the food came together versus starters then entrees, we ate fast and didn’t get to enjoy. We were done in 40 minutes from the time we sat down to paying. For the cost, you definitely wanted to relax and enjoy.
The food was ok, nothing to write home about. The red sauce was decent, the ravioli pretty good, the meatballs were spongy and had an odd flavor. Our server was a sweet kid.
Wonderful food and wine!
Great experience with server. She was so sweet. Good Italian food
Wasn’t crowded but service was slow. Also had a band in there, wasn’t expecting that for a restaurant so it was loud and we couldn’t really talk to each other.
Unusually quite this evening. Service was excellent. Food was good. Enjoyed my dinner.
Nice relaxed atmosphere. Good food. Live music was very entertaining.
Did not enjoy

bad odor in back area like strong disinfectant
I’d give 0 stars if able. Went on a Sunday evening around 6p and very few tables seated. We were promptly seated and our server took our drink orders but failed to return with drinks for another 10 minutes. Again, not busy. We only had 2 service settings for a booth of 4 and 2 little bread plates, of which bread was not served as usual here. When our server brought our drinks, we were ready to order despite her asking if we needed more time to decide. We placed our order and after seeing other tables receive their food before us, our order partially arrived. I had to grab settings from a nearby table for my family and a full pizza arrived without any plates to use. My order was next to come... I thought. When my calzone arrived, I began to eat the end first and was not until I got into the middle that I noticed it was not the calzone I ordered. My server did not return so I flagged her down and she can over to address the error. She said that she would get another right away. After watching my family complete their dinner with no entree arriving, I went to the counter to speak with the server who had not come back to our table. There was a pizza chef there that pulled out a calzone and was playing it when I just asked to have it boxed to go since I wanted to get my kids home for homework and did want them to sit while I are alone. When I opened the box while still at the counter I noticed a long green pepper partially hangout of the top. I pulled it out and noticed that this one was not my order either. I handed it back to him and he then began to have an attitude towards me when I questioned if he had my order even made. He then proceeds to pull out a 3rd calzone and hands it to me and asks me to “see if that one was mine” which I replied, “you should know. You are the only preparing these and baking them.” It was mine. Running out of room. End of story: did not satisfy my issue and had owner call me later. He went off on how he wanted to sell.
Mass confusion in the kitchen. Took an hour to get in and out for just pizza and drinks
Food was really good, but I just had one waiter for a table of 22 and no one back to the guy up. The main slowdown was him taking all the orders, and then going back and entering 22 orders into the computer before they could start making our food. That is what made lunch a one hour 45 minute event. The place really could use some software to have the waiter enter our order on an iPad, since clearly they have a computer System that can connect the order from the cash register to a monitor in the kitchen. But the other side of this is that everyone loved their food, and when you have that many people you are trying to please, it was a treat to have everybody satisfied with what they were served.
I really enjoyed my experience. It was my first time at this restaurant. Even though I live far away, I will be back.
We had reservations for 4 on Mother's Day. After waiting 55 minutes for our food we were told that they had not started our food and several tables were ahead of us. The waitress, politely as possible, asked us to leave. The dining experience (or lack there of) was completely unacceptable!
I made reservations for Mother’s Day for my family for brunch. It was a 10:45 reservation and there were only about 4-6 other parties seated. No one came to our table for 15 minutes. Mind you, I have 2 small children with me so they were out of patience before we even received water. Several staff members came by to ask if we had been helped, but didn’t actually stop to bring waters or take our order. Even after we ordered at the 25 minute mark, several staff came back by to ask if we had been helped. Clearly it was disorganized and no one knew their section or who was supposed to be doing what. They were always friendly, but inefficient. Long story short, we got our food at NOON. That’s right, an hour and fifteen minutes after we were seated. My kids were waaay past sitting in a chair and the only thing that saved the brunch was the food. It was excellent and we received the correct orders—the only up side to the whole encounter.
Dirty table and chairs, didn’t get order right, food was just ok- we used to loooove this place, but it seems quite unintentional lately
Work has been crazy so we went to the brunch relaunch to spend time together. Good thing it wasn’t a first date.... not good. They need to stick with pizza. Eggs were edible, breakfast potatoes and hash browns were terrible, bacon was practically raw. Toast was not good quality and was very bland. By the time I got butter to put on it, the toast was no longer warm so the butter wouldn’t melt. Even more disturbing was the price. We spent more on brunch than we did at dinner at a nice casual restaurant the night before.
First time here. No one at front to greet and seat me, had to go look for someone.
Chicken Parmesan was okay, hot and fresh, good flavor but I've had better.
I did a sample of the Alfredo sauce and it was yummy, so maybe next time I'll try that.
I did notice a TON of Pizza orders being pumped out for both to-go and other guest dining in- so maybe pizza is the way to go.
Waitress was sweet but not informed or attentive.
Food was good! Friday’s and Saturday’s there is live music. Going back to try something other than pizza.
Russo's has changed ownership and the menu is different and they no longer offer the special coffee beverages. But it's still pretty good.
Such a disappointment like the other times we’ve tried it. Walked in and 10 minute wait but literally 3/4 of the tables were open. After being seated we couldn’t find a waiter. Why does this place remain open?
Service was AWFUL. Food was very good. We waited forever for our food. Finally summoned over another waiter who explained their was a shortage of cooks. This was Valentine’s Day. It would have been more professional for our waiter to explain why it was taking so long.
Not sure if we will be back due to poor service.
