Had a great experience, food was very delicious. I will definitely come back!
Menu was very basic and could need upgrades. Desserts were ridiculously overpriced. 20 bucks for all desserts? Kind of out of line. Wait staff was friendly and courteous.
Went for restaurant week. Amazing decor and fantastic menu
Incredible experience. Impeccable decor. The food was to die for in the service top notch. All on a restaurant week price. Couldn’t be happier
Excellent in every respect! They definitely live up to the hype!
Fantastic spot - reeks of Russian culture and history - in the best way possible. The food was fantastic, and the service was a liiil slow. Overall though, amazing spot.
Overall experience was very disappointing. Waiter made two errors in the order (got one appetizer wrong) and missed one after dinner drink. As each course arrived, the servers placed the food down at a station and engaged in an extended discussion with themselves of who got which plate; quite frustrating. 3/5 entrees arrived with cold sides, sent one back and they remade the plate. The remade plate with everything hot was very good. Other 2/5 entrees were charred on the outside. Right course of action would have been to send everything back, but frankly have never done that. We dined early, but they were out of their signature desert. $10 premium tea was a tea bag (and server spilled hot liquid on me; server apologized, but no other adjustment). Bill arrived and included the erroneous (more expensive appetizer). Asked to be billed for correct appetizer; management took it off the bill instead. While they were happy to fix problems we raised, at this price point, they should be getting it right the first time, cooking the food correctly and serving it correctly and hot. They are surviving off of former glory. Diners can do better elsewhere.
I’ve always dreamed of dining at the RTR and I was not disappointed.
It is a trip to Heaven and will go back whenever I can.
Quick service. Very attentive staff. Food was delicious and came out at the first time!
Very nice experience. The food was delicious and the staff was attentive.
Celebrated a 5 year anniversary with my wife. Perogiz, borscht, beef stroganoff, salmon in a pastry ( a little spicy) and chocolate mousse all delicious.
I felt that my experience here exceeded my expectations after reading previous reviews… And I cannot wait to return! Lovely ambience if you’re looking to get out of the hustle and bustle of New York City and have some lovely tea or I ordered the beef stroganoff!
Such a wonderful setting with incredible polite service.
Iconic location, but the food and service doesn't really match the fairly steep price.
Excellent service. Food was delicious and beautiful on the plate. We went for Sunday brunch & left totally stuffed.
Very lovely experience to celebrate our anniversary!
The decor was elegant classy. The service was great the good good except the cupcakes were dry and hated the fact we could only have one tea selection. The price is normal for afternoon tea in NYC. But no complaints here.
I’ve heard about this iconic place and have seen it as the background for many movies and have always wanted to try it. I happen to be visiting my friends here NYC fr Cali and we went to the Russian Tea Room to celebrate her birthday.
My friend and I definitely enjoyed ourselves. The finger sandwiches were awesome. Its such a teaser that we looked it up to see if they serve it for lunch in a bigger portion…lol! Unfortunately they don’t. The staff was very attentive and courteous! We just enjoyed ourselves!
The staff was very attentive and our meals were delicious.
Food was served lukewarm, and portions were small. There was one waitress taking care of all tables, and she was very busy. She did a good job of staying on top of everything, given her workload. We were expecting a little more opulence. We definitely paid a premium for an average experience. The dining area was dark and dated.
Matt was our waiter and he took wonderful care of us. We are from Florida and this was a unique experience for us. The entire staff from the manager to all of the wait staff took splendid care of us.
Amazing food, amazing service and amazing location
A long awaited return to the venerable and classic dining experience. We had heard that some aspects of the restaurant experience there were lacking of late but our experience was anything but.
The service was attentive and professional. The food was delicious. And of course the lavish décor made everything super special.
Well done Russian Tea Room!
Everything about our dinner at RTR was positive from the professional and friendly service to the Chicken Kiev to the Russian themed decor. Would return.
This place is an art gallery. Not only is the food delicious but the atmosphere and great service provides the perfect experience. Highly recommend!
The Russian Tea Room is a NYC restaurant landmark. Famed for attracting dancers, actors, singers and dancers, it's still an experience. The menu is Russian favorites (I was disappointed in the caviar blini - it was TINY! - but the Chicken Kiev and side vegetables - superb.
Very elegant place, great food!
Hugely special location and decor. Service not as good as in the past. Food pretty good.
The High Tea was a big disappointment! The sandwiches were not awful, the teas were served in tea bags, I could have found better scones in Costco! It was not worth $60 per person!
A very disappointing afternoon tea experience. Sandwiches were either tasteless or too salty. Scones were mediocre, and butter accompanied them with jam rather than clotted or Devonshire cream. Sweets were mediocre as well.
Best thing about the meal was the champagne we requested beforehand.
Always love this place
Our lunch at the Tea Room was as wonderful as we had hoped. We had not dined here for many years and were delighted that our experience matched those long ago times.
It was a very strange experience. I have been to the RTR before so I knew what to expect.
The service was very uneven. Some wait staff were condescending while others were too pandering. Very weird.
To cap the evening off, three different waiters brought me coffee when I did not order or want it. The fourth and last waiter to bring my unwanted coffee was annoyed and was not shy to show his annoyance.
I hope they clean their act up. It's a beautiful place and the food is consistently good
It was good, but I think everything is just extremely over priced.
Every time we visit the City we like to have dinner at this place. Every single time we are not disappointed, is a cozy beautiful and relaxing place.
For a great night out, the Russian Tea Room is it.
We did the afternoon tea service, the food was Delicious! I wish I could eat it everyday. Service was great and the ambiance was tasteful. Definitely recommend.
The price was affordable. Chicken Kiev was HUGE so I didn't eat all of it; cheesecake was good.
Great experience to have high tea there! Very fancy!
It was a huge disappointment that Open Table and the homepage of the restaurant didn't specify that on the weekends they don't serve lunch just brunch. I reserved a table for Saturday, wanted to have a good lunch, and I was surprised that there is no lunch. Took all my good mood away.
The burger is nothing special, had better. The sweet potato fries were really good though.
After all, I won't go back there.
So underwhelming, food was actually terrible. For $60 a person I expected a lot more, but they give the equivalent of like 1.5 sandwiches cut up. They were soggy and clearly made the night before. the tea was from bags! I was shocked, I thought it would at least be loose leaf. All and all it was a waste of money
