Sunday is not a good day to go to Russian tea room for lunch. There is no lunch only expensive brunch with mediocre choices
Perfect ambiance, flawless service, perfect meal!
Shouldnt have to ask for menu twice
Which we had to do twice!
Food ok v pricey worth the visit but just have something cheap and font expect great service
The food was excellent as expected. The service was average, not what I would expect for a landmark restaurant
The menu was very limited, food was good but, portions have decreased in size and increased by a lot cost wise. The staff was great, just not the place it used to be.
We were very disappointed with the food. Nothing special, mediocre portions . Service was excellent and it has a nice ambiance . I also thought that they would have loose teas but the tea is bagged tea.
We had such a great experience. Looking forward to returning:)
Can't beat the ambiance. But I so looked forward to having the Chicken Kiev and it was a major disappointment. The crust so extremely difficult to cut through and the meat was dry. Moreover, I seem to remember that the server usually cut open the chicken at the table and some wonderful butter spilled out.
Also, below the only options for 'would you recommend" are Yes and No. I'll press Yes but I need a Maybe.
Great experience, we ordered the afternoon tea which comes with your selection of tea and a variety of sandwiches, mini cupcakes and scones. Friendly staff and very well decorated room.
Such a nice restaurant. My entree (duck) was a bit underwhelming. The rest- the appetizer, cocktail, dessert- were all excellent.
Decadent! It definitely lived up to the hype. We had amazing service, delicious drinks and food and a beautiful ambience. Pricey but still spectacular.
Business express Lunch was quick but not rushed. Excellent staff. Superb food.
Went for high tea to celebrate my 33rd birthday and all I can say is I am so honored to have been able to experience all the comforts this establishment and exceptional staff provide. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with genuine hospitality from all the staff members. Our server was an absolute delight, extremely helpful and very informative. The food was beyond compare and the selection of teas to choose from were fantastic. No matter if you’re a native New Yorker or a tourist make this a must see destination! 500,000 stars!
Our experience at the Famous Russian Tea Room was everything we expected, outstanding. The food, the ambiance, the service, the stunning decor, were all amazing, incredible, and iconic! The staff was professional, friendly, and amazing! We cannot wait to come back! You all made my little girl’s birthday am amazing experience! Thank you all! God Bless you! We hopefully will see you soon! Happy, healthy, safe, and prosperous New Year! Salute! Bravo!
An absolute amazing experience. Very old New York
We had tea but I saw some amazing brunch being served. Will definitely return for that next time!
Wonderful evening and service was super . The wait service was beyond top notch made for a memorable evening
Server was never seen but food and atmosphere were great.
Lousy service small portions and poorly presented. Very over priced we were ignored , getting butter took close to 10 minutes to get a waiter to come to the table servicing utensils were dented
The afternoon tea was excellent. Loved all the sandwiches. Some of the deserts were a bit weird but great overall. Perhaps a tad bit overrated as I’ve had better afternoon tea in London and Taipei but those are obviously a high mark to beat and this was a great location and ambiance and service.
Moderate service. Sandwiches and deserts not fresh. Overall very average experience!
This is a beautiful restaurant that provides a beautiful experience. Everything about it is noteworthy. The decor, the location, the staff, the flow, the service, the food, the drinks. How fortunate that this establishment is still open and survived covid as well.
This is a great experience. Thank you !
The food is amazing . The environment is perfect for a date
I came here with my mother to enjoy afternoon tea yesterday. It was the perfect dining experience until a back injury I was dealing with increased further when I sneezed and pulled a muscle. I applaud the staff's immediate response to my clear need for emergency help by checking on my well-being and calling an ambulance for me. I have never experienced an entire staff being so thoughtful and caring for their patrons, even tough I was - and still am - completely embarrassed. Thank you again for coming to my rescue. My mom and I will definitely come back once I am well again.
Place still looks beautiful. The food and service (as most places in Manhattan) has gone down the drain. Food is anything but russian anymore, the quality of the food is extremely poor, portions are ridiculously small and prices absurdly high. Drinks were also poor quality. Ordered the worst Moscow Mule I've ever had (made with the cheapest ginger beer you can get and completely watered down), and my wife got a cocktail made with rum, which once we got it, was made with cheap vodka (as if most people would notice the taste difference between both). We had it re made, and when brought back, the taste difference between rum and vodka was extremely evident, but the rude waiter stated "unless someone changed the content of the rum bottle for vodka, you should like this one". My recommendation, try to avoid it, I don't mind paying top dollar for good food and service, but you wont get either here.
We were there for a New Year's celebration last night. The restaurant has a lot of history and a great service staff. The food was good but over-priced. I mean the desserts were priced at $35 dollars for a piece of pie. But it was New Year's eve and we got memorable pictures for the night. I would recommend for a special occasion but know that you will overpaid for the history of the restaurant.
Loved the $750 NYE dinner, but shocked I couldn’t have 2 appetizers snd skip dessert….seemed cheesy at this price….otherwise fabulous.
For the amount you charge you need to step up both quality of food served and definitely the service.
We love this place. It screams NYC!!!
Very Poorly Service, Food Fair ~ nothing great, way overpriced
Our service was great. The homemade things were good but the items made outside the kitchen like some of the pastries weren’t very good, kind of stale.
The Russian Tea Room is perfect for special occasions or a romantic luncheon or dinner for two. The beautiful ambiance is one of the finest in the city and worthy of adding to your bucket list for sure! Get ready to make memories you will cherish forever.
It is great to see the RTR back at full capacity and refreshed.
Very poor waiter service, he was not very engaging or friendly, too stand-offish. Had better experiences elsewhere.
The setting is perfect - the decor, ambience and service was brilliant. The food was disappointing - we had the afternoon tea and the sandwiches were slightly stale, as were the cakes. Tea selection was minimal.
Very expensive for the quality of food, but a nice experience for a special occasion/tourist activity.
