Food was very yummy and the service was great! Definitely would go back!
We had a wonderful dinner and our server Hunter was polite, attentive and very professional. Anytime we travel to Cambridge we make a stop at The Russell House Tavern.
Haven't eaten here in a while, but this time the food was mediocre and the service was friendly but slow. Go for the ambience and location, and trust that the food and service will return as the pandemic winds down.
My overall experience was not the best. The staff was nice but the food was terrible. We ordered 2 entrees and neither meal had any flavor. The food was not seasoned at all and was very plain. I also ordered a drink but that was not good either the flavor was just very off. This place has a lot of good reviews so may they were just having an off night or something.
Extremely friendly and courteous staff, exactly the experience my friends and I were looking for.
Loved the whole experience! Would come back again with friends.
They may try to seat you in a place that you did not select while making the reservation. Make sure to let the host know your preferred seating arrangement before hand.
Booked an outdoor dining spot for my birthday, thinking it was going to be in the pretty patio in the photos. Was fairly disappointed to end up being placed on the street right across the CVS.
Our server was esuper! & he was vaccinated too! However, my tablemates were served about 15 minutes before my entree arrived. We ate on the patio, and were seated toward the back so no noise from the street - the food was good - crab cakes and salmon and avocado toast - great location and I plan to return with friends.
Great food as usual! Russell House has been our go-to since it opened. It’s consistently delicious and there are always new items on the menu.
We were seated and served quickly. All the staff we very friendly. The dinners and cocktails were great! We would definitely go back.
Awesome meal, great staff, great drinks, great music. Felt very safe dining out during COVID. Staff was very attentive and taking safety seriously. Highly recommend.
Had a great time! The spring salad was delicious. I will definitely be back soon.
We ate in the patio area and were very comfortable with the partitions between each tables (and heat lamps!). The pizza and caesar salad were great, and we had the best waitress! She made a regular night out a lot of fun. Definitely will be coming back!
The food was fine, but not outstanding. I’d like to return to try other items.
The brunch menu was good and reasonably priced. The outdoor seating was a little crowded, but overall it was a good experience.
Waiter was so friendly and helpful. Recommended a great wine for me. My allergy was taken seriously and my meal was adapted easily. Food was incredible. Felt Covid safe, plenty of barriers between tables. Nice and cozy, perfect date night spot. Will definitely go back.
Russell House Tavern seemed to have a lot of promise, but didn't live up to the hype. Mediocre food, slow service, and a little on the pricey side for the size of the offerings. I probably won't return.
Didn’t receive points for this??
The attention we received from the staff was very kind and warm. Diego, our waiter was always attentive to our requests. The food was delicious, will definetly recomend the brussells sprouts, corn on the cob and the burger. The selection of beers and wine was great. The downstairs tavern had a great ambience. We were there for early lunch, so it was empty, yet still we enjoyed the Harvard local pub vibe we were looking for in our visit.
the tables are to close to each other, there’s no space to walk between the plastic cover and the table, the waiter cant serve the person who is sitting on the far side of the table because theres no space to walk, pizza its just bad, the wings are pretty good, the price for the pizza is just to high for the quality and the flavor of it.
Russell House Tavern didn’t disappoint - good food and service. They also graciously accepted our request to move our reservation last-minute, which I imagine is hard to do on a Friday night during a pandemic. Much appreciated!
Service was friendly and attentive, no problems there. Food was not great. We had the dine out Boston three-course menu because it sounded like a good deal. Three of the six options we had were okay, but nothing was terrific. Food was consistently underseasoned, pork was overcooked, pasta was mushy, and we were overall quite disappointed. For $38 a person, we thought it would be a good deal and after eating we felt it was a waste of money. Beer and wine selection was great and we enjoyed our beverages, just not the food. Bill ended up just over $100 for two people--frustrating to spend that much for mediocre food.
Nice and cute vibe loved sitting outside the heaters made it super comfy
amazing food & cocktails- love their patio! Would eat their french toast every day of my life.
Food and cocktails were excellent! The espresso martini (no baileys) was yummy.
As noted, the service was excellent. Food was pretty good and ambiance was great. Would go again.
Food was nothing special. Portions too small for comparatively similar restaurants. Basically, nothing special.
I’ve been to RHT for years and it’s always a good experience. This being the first time going with COVID restrictions, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Service was a bit slow but friendly. We did not feel rushed at all. Will definitely be going back!
Sat outdoor under a heater, but the heater was barely warm.
Absolutely loved the outside patio! Great service, great food, and warm heaters. Would list as one of my top favorite 5 spots in the area.
Sat outside. Heat lamps worked well. Felt very comfortable. Warm spinach salad was delicious as was the Barnam Cocktail. Thanks for a great meal.
The patio is gorgeous and well-equipped with safety measures for outdoor diners. Each table has a screen on either side to keep you separated from other diners. While the atmosphere was lovely, the food didn't blow us away. My partner ordered the burger which came on an English muffin (our fault for not noticing this in the menu description and asking for a different bun), which was a strange choice and unfortunately not a very good one. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich which was excellent, but the side salad was literally just a pile of lettuce pulled out of a bag. Overall, the experience was nice, but the food wasn't too impressive.
Service was great. Food was delicious
Sat outside and it was way too cold to actually be comfortable doing that. It was 25 degrees and the heaters really didnt do much.
The food was really good. I had the burger and it was delicious, my husband enjoyed his steak too. Our wine and beer were also very good. The service was great.
Overall was kind of disappointed with the food. Fllavorless and came out lukewarm.
The service was great though our waiter was darling.
Fantastic place. First time there and the pizza was amazing. Highly recommend the truffle pizza.
