Went for weeknight dinner. Enjoyed their fabulous poutine and had the roasted farm chicken for my entree, which was also good. The staff were very polite and attentive. Only downside is that they don't offer coat check service.
Salt of the earth establishment. 10/10 would go back.
We chose this spot for dinner after a late concert at Sanders Theater. Members of our group ordered pizza, a kale & grain bowl, Korean BBQ ribs, Brussels sprouts & a grilled chicken sandwich. Everyone was totally happy with their choice.
The place is very nice. The food was good and I appreciate originality, but a beautiful chunk of salmon on a mountain of lentils is really nice... IF you are fond of lentils by the mountain. However, given a choice, a side of mashed potatoes and roasted carrots with the lentils as a garnish would have made me much happier. The salmon, by the way, was perfect. The fried halibut was also wonderful, but some fries would have been great. The chocolate dessert will cost me two weeks in purgatory but it was well worth it. Kelly, our server, was awesome. The drinks were really good. I just wish the management would turn down the music and the patrons would learn to speak in their "inside" voices. But then again, I l developed my sensibilities in an era when "energetic" was a euphemism for busy, not "ridiculously loud". I hope I live long enough for this trend to reverse itself and return to a time when folks had "polite conversation" at the dinner table. (sigh)
Always a good bet, especially for late. Igor dining. Extensive drink menu, desserts are really good.
Two cocktails and four small plates for a post-theater supper on a busy Friday night. Both cocktails (a standard Boulevardier and house menu Space Between Stars) were well-crafted and delicious. The small plates weren't actually very small and we left very well sated; all were excellent. Highly recommend the Burrata and Beet Salad (pistachios really made the dish) and the Charcuterie Board (we skipped the cheese but I'm sure it would be fantastic). The Brussels Sprouts were rich, especially with the addition of the guanciale. In comparison to the other dishes, the Steak Tartar, while expertly prepared, came off as a bit bland. A turn of the pepper mill would have helped. Service wasn't bad but not terribly attentive, which is why I did't get that pepper. A good bet in Harvard Square that won't break the bank.
Fun place to hang out with friends. Creative cocktails, spicy food and good service!
I was so disappointed this visit. 3 of the 4 of us has cold or over cooked meals. Waitress barely checked on us. Water constantly empty. Vine has changed
We were in a rush to get to the theatre. Waiter was very attentive. Everything arrived as ordered in time that we didn’t feel rushed. Definitely recommend,
didn't start the new year very well.
many items on the menu were not available.
I would understand if the restaurant ran out of the food but this was the beginning of the day.
We enjoyed a pleasant meal prior to a concert at Sanders Theater. Service was great. The burrata-beet appetizer was very good as were my companions' duck and pasta bolognese entrees. My swordfish was dry and overcooked but the ratatouille was good. We would return.
Wonderful experience! Brunch was delicious and cocktails were outstanding per usual. The seating is so comfortable you won’t want to leave! Vibe fits more of a late night cocktails/date rather than family brunch.
The food and service was fantastic! Great cocktails and food to share
Our waitress made the evening...enough said 💙
The service was excellent: courteous, prompt and well informed servers. Had en enjoyable pre holiday Dinner with the family. Food was very good, with surprising ingredients. Atmosphere appropriate to the occasion and we were seated downstairs in an area away from the bar and most traffic. Would very much recommend it to friends and other family.
The food was great. We were seated sort of in the middle of the walkway to the bathrooms. Not a cozy spot.
We waited a long time for our first drink. (Beer on tap) and when she finally came back she said the tap had to be changed and dashed off. Hey I could pick another choice.
Another 10 minutes we finally got our beer.
Food arrived promptly by food staff so arrived fine .
Second beer took a while too, but not as bad as first and she was nice to give us a taste of three choices.
She dropped the check and we waited 20 min with our credit card out. Meanwhile managers and hostesses bustled by ignoring us .... my husband literally went out to Bank of America, got cash and we left it on the table....stilll never saw the waitress again.
We mentioned to front hostess and got barely an apology. I think there reaction was to run to the table to ensure we actually paid cash.
Food was great and I am sure this was an anomoly. Staff had many opportunities to pick up the ball but none did. And it wasn’t that busy.
Buzzing on a December Saturday night. We all loved our meals. Liked the different choices on menu.
Had dinner after the Revels performance only a short walk from Sanders Theater. We were led to a table near the bar but pointed out a quieter one by the wall which was perfect. The waitstaff was great—attentive but not hovering and took care of all requests. The menu which I had seen on the website was basic but with nice twists and was not overwhelming. Unfortunately there was no soup on the menu which I usually don’t want but did when we arrived. Friends had the pork chop, swordfish, and I had the trout special cooked perfectly and served over a lovely salad of greens and citrus. I also don’t eat dessert but, after the trout, the sorbet trio looked appealing-lemon, raspberry, and mango. Didn’t think I’d finish but so refreshing and yummy that I did! Will be back!
Overall, it was nice 3:30PM late lunch, but the turnover between brunch and 4pm service was really poor. Not the fault of the waitress, but we waiting way too long for simple cocktails, and even staff were a bit confused on which of the 3 menus (Brunch/limited/Dinner) we could order from. Food was very good - fired Oysters were the best I've ever had. Creative cocktails. reasonable prices. Burger was great; as was seared salmon. Deviled eggs yummy. They just need to get consistent service even when staff turns over.
Great experience here! The place was nice, the food was great (I had the breakfast pizza — highly recommend), and the staff was excellent. Reasonably priced as well.
We shared a few small plates. Very nice to have. Lively atmosphere.
I was actually disappointed in my experience this time at Russell House. I have enjoyed all my previous dining experiences with RH over the years, but this past experience did not meet their usual standards. They were out of the dish myself and another in my party had ordered and the waitress was not aware. The food was coming out very slow and the meal was just not as good compared to even a few weeks ago.
One of the best restaurants in Boston for sure. Went for Sunday brunch and was super pleased as always. It was my boyfriend’s first time there and he couldn’t speak highly enough about the experience.
Probably not the best place for a business meal because of the noice level but great atmosphere and food!
first time there - dinner for two. I cannot comment on other occasions, but assume they would be good.
RHT has always been a great experience. Great cocktails, great food and great service.
Went here for dinner last weekend. It was delicious! A lot of people have said it's too noisy, but I didn't notice the noise level to be any different than other popular restaurants on Saturday night. We started with the margarita pizza which was 100% delicious and should be ordered. Our entrees were solid - I got a butternut squash grain bowl from appetizers and added chicken. It was more than enough for 2 meals, so seemed huge for an app. Ambiance was awesome, but our waitress was pretty scattered and the meal ended up being a 3 hour ordeal (which was fine, but we weren't expecting). Overall, great time and definitely would go back (to try the burger).
It was amazing, they even brought out a dessert with a candle that I asked for.
We ordered a few dishes, including mussels. All fairly edible, nothing exceptional, somewhat stale the leaves, somewhat overdone, the fish, but shockingly poorly prepared was the mussels, nearly half-unopened, those opened, not fresh, chewy.
The music was waaay too loud
Great spot, excellent food and service! We went before a show it was perfect!
Great food in an old-timey ambiance. Service was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious.
Didn't have good vegetarian options. One of us felt unwell after eating there.
We went got thanksgiving... strayed from the burger and it was just a flat out miss. Service was outstanding though
We made reservations for Thanksgiving and arrived at noon; it was quiet when we arrived but quickly filled up. Our waiter was the highlight of the experience. He was helpful and thoughtful to a fault. When he went to get us extra bread, apparently the kitchen lost track of our order, so we had a long wait; they made it up to us with dessert on the house, which was very nice too, though it’s a bit odd that this happened so early. The appetizers, soups, salad and desserts were great. The turkey dinner, special for Thanksgiving, was a bit disappointing, and not at all of the same quality as the rest of the food...I wondered if it had been sourced elsewhere. It was just OK, and served kind of lukewarm. Overall we liked the place and would go back, but maybe not for a holiday dinner.
Burger delicious! Brussel sprouts great! Stuffed acorn squash-yum!
I like this place, but it's noisy! Not only are people talking but there is also loud music. The burgers are delicious, but the omelette with seasonal vegetables is just odd. Do cauliflower and corn belong in an omelette? I don't think so. It was odd. But service was good and friendly.
Birthday brownie is just a perfect surprise!
Many thanks ❤️
Great for our out of town party of 4. Fun atmosphere, very good brunch/lunch food, and friendly, efficient service.
Waitress lovely, food very tasty, we had a great time.
