I want this restaurant to be great! We spend May to October in the area and eat out a lot of the time. Love the building - old restored, wood floors, exposed brick walls, charming. It's not the best location, but if you're exceptional, people will come (look at Paisainos in Richmond). I ordered the salmon - was rather dry and needed sauce. Same with my husbands Trout. BUT, the real killer to the evening was the Kettle One drink my husband ordered - it was a tiny glass, filled with ice and what looked to be about 2 tablespoons of vodka. For $9.00!! Our female server was outstanding - very efficient and so friendly.
This could be an exceptional place - if they can last that long.

The restaurant interior is quite nice, the service was good and the hostess was lovely at her job. The disappointment was in the food other than the trout (which was very good). Sadly, they ran out of salmon by 7pm on a Saturday night. My son ordered a pasta dish instead and said it was flavorless. The chicken dish was fine. The wine list could use some tweaking.
The star was the trout my husband ordered and he enjoyed some muscles from the small plates menu. That is my recommendation for future visits. Order from the small plates menu (very tasty chicken wings too) and sit in the beautiful bar area - beer and fish in Wisconsin works.

FRESH ! Clean simple green atmosphere. Bacon wrapped scallops, shrimp apps were accompanied by knowledgeable recipes of great sauce accompaniments. Trout was incredible! Sides were great too, haricots vert with just a kiss of garlic, potato pancakes, a little overdone but flavorful. Compliments on fresh salad dressings, such an accent to healthy greens! The server needs memory lessons but very personable. I'll be back when I am in the area again.

Made a reservation for Dinner on a Saturday night but was unnecessary, as it wasn’t even half full. It took quite a long time for the trout to be served when there were only a few tables occupied. Trout portions were small and very thin, especially for the price. Good food, all considered.

Every time we have eaten at Trout House Delavan, we have LOVED the food. It's always creative and freshly flavorful. Anything with their trout is great, but the current filet medallions are excellent as well. The service was a little rushed, but we found out there had been a medical situation (older man passed out and fell) and knowing that, the service was really great -- they just seemed a little rattled. They are always very friendly and upbeat. Be sure you try the smoked trout brushetta! And they make a great Old Fashioned!

They were having a bit of an off night with regard to items on the menu, some things were already out. But overall it continues to be a gem. So much so that I'd like to take my family from both coasts there for dinner when they visit later this summer. The service was friendly and timely!

The restaurant was probably half full so it was comfortable. The only complaint was it took a long time for not being that busy. Drinks took 10 minutes to arrive; food took a half hour to get. Two of us had the trout, both versions; they both were very good. We were told it’s a small kitchen takes longer. Overall, we will return. We had a good server, Carrie and the desserts were outstanding both the cheesecake and a chocolate torte.

noise level was high that precluded individual conversation - the ceiling and walls are not able to absorb noise - otherwise it is a wonderful place for excellent food and exceptional service

I made a reservation for four for 6 p.m. on Sunday night. I received confirmation of the reservation. When I arrived with my guests, we discovered that the Trout House was closed. A restaurant shouldn't accept a reservation for a date and time when it's closed.

This was our second visit. Our last visit in April was very good, excellent food and service. This time they were obviously having lack of staff issues. The menu was extremely limited. If you didn't have a reservation you weren't getting a seat, a sign was posted at the door. We drove 50mins to go there and the food was fair at best, nothing bad, just not worth a 50 minute drive. Maybe the main restaurant is better but we will not be going back for quite some time, if at all. Sad too because our first visit was very positive, and we're always looking for unique places to eat.

This is a charming setting with fun vibes. Unfortunately the night we dined , there had been a major exodus of kitchen staff with several shortages on an already reduced menu. The wait staff did an amazing job to try and make things right and whoever was doing the cooking did a fantastic job , as our dishes were delicious .Will absolutely go back.

This is our second visit to Rushing Waters. We enjoy the ambiance and food. Service is friendly, a bit slow on the cocktail service. This is a new restaurant that is getting their groove. Mussels, trout and salmon were all good. Fresh salad. We will definitely go back. Like the interiors, very comfortable.

There was a "help wanted" sign posted, and I am assuming that might be the issue with the lack of "timely" service. It did take a while to get the waitstaff to our table, and then took a while for the drinks and meal to be delivered. The food was delicious.

I was disappointed with the Caesar Salad which had way too much dressing...glops and glops all over the lettuce, as it had not been thoroughly tossed. The server never offered to bring me another instead.

We went for the Mother's Day Brunch and had a great time. They had set up a buffet and there was smoked salmon and trout which was delicious. There was even a little dessert bar which my son loved. If anyone in your family is low carb this is a great option (but they also had great carb options as well). This is a casual atmosphere great for families and I would definitely go back for the smoked fish.

We had a delicious dinner of seafood stuffed trout with saffron rice and sautéed vegetables. The brandy old fashions were so good. Good beer selection. We were able to buy smoked salmon and salmon cakes from their cooler in the lobby. Will definitely be back.

Food was great our Florida guest thought prices were fantastic. We will eat there again. This was our 2nd experience and both have been great. We also have a business in downtown Delavan and are asked often to recommend an eating place for lunch or dinner. We will recommend Rushing Waters and have in the past.

Out waitress was excellent and we had a chance.to talk to the manager. This is not a place to go if you are in a hurry. Excellent blackened ahi.tuna, tempura shrimp and stuffed trout. We will definitely bring out-of-town guests here!

I’ve been to Rushing waters numerous times and 80% of the time the food has been phenomenal, it does seem that consistently it’s becoming less consistent, and the appetizers get smaller each time. My best results have been on Friday or Saturday nights and the crap shoots have been the weekdays. I hope it maintains because the options in the area are limited to strictly bar food if they’re gone.

After reading the reviews, We were anxious to try something new in the Lake Geneva/Delavan area. We were not disappointed. I enjoyed a very generous “small” Caesar salad, and tempura-battered shrimp. Hubby started with garlic shrimp appetizer, and trout. He is a much pickier eater than I, and proclaimed both “very good.” High praise from him. My food was delicious. We look forward to eating here again soon.

After several meals here I can say that the meal is always excellent. They had a service issue when first opening. That never impacted the quality of the food. I have visited the Palmira location in the past and I am excited that we now have an option closer to Lake Geneva.
