I'd been to Rural Society before and enjoyed it for dinner, but this was my first time visiting for a business lunch. All told, it was a great experience. Service was friendly and prompt, they were able to seat us at a quiet booth where we were able to discuss our business. And, the food was delicious to boot.

Fabulous! Everything was perfect! We had the Chef's Select Tasting menu and everything was fantastic! Tapas included pulpo, Beet salad, chorizo, artichoke pizza and cheese biscuits. Entree included lobster, lamb chops and the amazing picaña. Dessert was mango sorbet and flan. Will definitely return!

Meat was disappointing they have to improve quality of meet and cooking it. Those cuts coming from argentina or Uruguay are expensive so they have to taste great and well cooked! It did not happen at Rural Society....

Rural Society has a very simple menu that delivers on the Argentine Parilla theme. The restaurant combines the theme with more of a US steakhouse food than genuinely Argentine food. Price points as well, that said it was very good and enjoyed the experience.

First of all the location is extremely convenient. Since it was lunch we were on somewhat of schedule. I love the food and the service is always great so it was an easy decision to meet here. This is my go to spot for a nice lunch and they also have a great happy hour!

Being from Argentina, I decided to try some home cooking while visiting DC. I was baffled at this restaurant. Supposedly called Rural Society after "La Rural" a typical cattle and farming exhibit in downtown Buenos Aires. Unfortunately the restaurant failed to provide an "authentic Argentinian menu" the food was good, but nothing to write home about. But the worst is that I went there expecting some great empanadas, asado, and my favorite dessert: Argentine panqueques. The restaurant had none. There were only two kinds of empanadas and they were average. As for the asado and my panqueques, they were both missing from the menu altogether. If you are looking for some eclectic (80% American, 20% Argentinian) food experience, then this restaurant is for you. An Argentine restaurant with no Dulce de Leche on its menu is like London without the red double-decker buses.

Food was ok, nothing mind blowing. Although the service was good, the ambience felt cold. The restaurant lacked a welcoming intimate environment. Again, just ok. Not worth the cost.

Room temperature was chilly and server unsympathetic; said couldn't change it and offered nothing. Food was good, but very overpriced. Service was pretty lousy. Server did not check on entrees after served by someone else. Had to flag down maître d to request fresh pepper, only to be given ordinary salt and pepper shakers like I'd expect at a diner; no freshly ground pepper from server or even the container. Seated next to a burlap fabric apparently separating us from a private "room," though, judging by the conversation we couldn't help but overhear, they were anything but private.

Beautiful restaurant with friendly and courteous staff. The chorizo and morcilla had peculiar unappetizing flavoring that resembled nothing like a real parrillada. The provoleta was melted velveeta at best. We then tried the picanha. Overcooked, unflavorful, and cold. Worst of all was the exorbitant price.

Food and Service Great but don't go on a Holiday expecting a festive celebration the restaurant was empty! Very Sad that this restaurant did not market on social media or via email to get the word out - we will dine at restaurant again but not on a significant festive holiday like New Year's Eve - very sad that a Garces Restaurant did not market what they were offering for New Year's so that folks would know about the great menu offered.

We were not told when reserving that the meal would be fixed price tasting menu. We had planned to order a simpler ala carte meal but were forced to take the tasting menu. As it turned out the meal was superb and the value exceptional but I think we should have been advised in advance that the ala carte menu was not available

My husband and I ordered cocktails which were very good. I had a caparinha and he had this gin and habanero drink. Our waiter was nice. We asked him to explain the tasting menus and he explained that one was basic with starter, steak, fish and dessert; and the other was premium with a better cut of steak, lamb chops and lobster.

We asked our server about our 8 yo having the tasting menu with us. We assumed, incorrectly, that we'd each have our own portions. So given the option of only having two tasting menus or three, we opted for three, with the two adults having wine pairings.

The wine pairing includes a sparkling wine to start. The wine was totally flat. When our waiter brought the wine out he kind of looked at it and flicked it, which made a couple of bubbles in the glass. That was our first disappointment. Then when the courses started coming they were on sharing plates and we realized we could have ordered for two people instead of for three, but it was too late to turn back. At $85/ person we could have had some savings.

The first courses were bread, which was good, octopus, which was very good, and beets, which we all enjoyed. The problem with service was that at this point we had empty cocktail glasses, wine flutes, wine glasses, and plates sitting all over our table. Eventually they were removed but it took a while.

Also, our plates and silverware were not refreshed automatically between courses. I had to request it and the waiter said they don't usually do that, but that he'd go ahead and take care of it for us. Whether they do or don't usually do that isn't something he needed to tell me about because then I felt awkward for asking.

One of the courses was a "pizza" type thing that had obviously been sitting for a while waiting to be served and it was not edible. We also received sausage that was well seasoned.

Our meats and lobster were all over salted, and the "premium" cut of steak was so dry and tough we could not eat it. Dessert was great

I've eaten at Rural Society during restaurant week and had a good meal, but I took my girlfriend there on our anniversary and left wishing I had picked a different restaurant. I knew the prices would be steep, but the meal and experience was absolutely not worth it. We ordered 2 starters, but they brought out a 3rd and charged us for it (they made it seem like it was on the house). The food was WAY too salty; almost too salty to eat. My girlfriend couldn't get through half of her steak because it was too salty. Instead of seasoning the food or letting the natural flavors do the work, it seemed like the kitchen just coated everything in salt before and after cooking. The restaurant was nearly empty considering it was only an 8:30 reservation on a Saturday night, yet the service rushed us to order and was not attentive to our table. This was in no way worth the price and has me disappointed enough to write my first ever review. I will not be going back.

Food was good but service was incredibly slow. We were a party of 12 which is large but they could have done better. had a reservation for 7:30, didnt get sitted until 8:15. Food wasn't serve until 10pm. We were waiting a long time after we ordered. I would maybe go back if only two people as food was well prepared.

Food and service was outstanding and original. Best hangar steak ever. Ambience was a little ordinary, not as special as the food. A tweak of the seating and lighting in the main area would go a long way. A small note also- I have never complained about a stingy pour before, but my wine glass was delivered to me as low as I've ever seen. Seemed like a 4 oz pour. :-(

Food was delicious and nicely presented. Bottomless mimosas were HUGE and good as well. It has a cozy ambiance, but the service was not great. We waited a while to order and I was given the wrong first course.
