Rundle Bar – Fairmont Banff Springs
Pinkies Up! We are proud to present a menu steeped in tradition and designed to create the most memorable of Fairmont experiences.
With breathtaking views, Afternoon Tea at The Fairmont Banff Springs offers 12 of our finest loose leaf teas accompanied by delectable pastries and finger sandwiches for the time honoured traditionalist. If there are any allergies or dietary restrictions let us know in advance and we would be happy to accommodate. $55.00 per person.
Smart Casual (no hats, sports wear or torn jeans)
Egg Salad Croissant
Mac & Cheese
The snacks were too sweet too dry. And the waitress even told me that gorgonzola is safe for pregnancy?!
We had excellent service! Canapés that are a bit lighter (less gluten) would be appreciated. The salmon was delicious but it rested on a thick (too thick) cake like canapé. The scones were good as well as the creams to accompany them. The desserts were delicious too. The classic cucumber sandwich was a success. Thank you for the memorable experience.
Unfortunately the booking was moved to a different restaurant which does not have the same ambience or feel as the Rundle Room
The lack of an enforced dress code also takes away from the overall experience
The first time I went for High Tea at the Banff Springs it was in a beautiful room with amazing Mountain View’s. However, on February 23rd the regular room was under renovations and the tea was in a room which had zero view. The food was great but the atmosphere was lacking. I won’t go back until it’s back in its regular spot. I wish we had Ben notified before.
My 96 year old Mother and I spent Valentine’s Day in Banff waiting for our 2.30 reservation for High Tea in the Rundle Lounge only to be told that the tea was in another area of the hotel which meant pushing her wheelchair with oxygen in tow outside and through snow and ice to the “The Gate House”. After finding the correct floor 17th (no one around to ask), we were seated in a room with no view of the resort or mountains. A young man served us “High Tea” which consisted of stale sandwiches and scones...never to see him again. After finishing our cold pots of tea.. I flagged down a female server and got our bill. Banff Springs ...Truly Disappointing and I will be writing to their Executive.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are very sorry to hear of your disappointment, particularly on such a special occasion. As the Rundle Bar is currently under construction, our Afternoon Tea is being served in Castello Italiana. This is noted on our confirmation email and discussed over the phone when we confirm reservations. While Castello Italiana does not have the same views as Rundle, this newly renovated space has 360 views of the Castle and Sulphur mountain.
Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. This is always a nice treat
High tea at the Fairmont is currently being served in the Gatehouse Italian restaurant. While we have nothing to compare it to while the Rundle Room is being renovated, the atmosphere was still quite lovely. The service too was fantastic- we were looked after by Kurtis.
Unfortunately the food was quite disappointing - sandwiches were very dry and scones like bullets. We felt like the items had been prepared earlier in the day en masse and left out. Certainly a lot of food but nothing I would return to try again.
My fiancee and I had a wonderful time at the Banff Springs Hotel for afternoon tea. Emily, our server, was extremely knowledgeable, attentive, warm and welcoming. She truly elevated the experience for us.
Great food and great service 😊
Attended high tea with my 3 year old for her birthday. She loved it! Thank you!
What a lovely way to spend a chilly afternoon with my daughter.
It will be great when they can relocate back to usual venue but cannot fault service or food,
I wish I had allowed more time!
The afternoon tea at the Banff Springs Hotel is world famous. Unfortunately, the Hotel is having renovations where the afternoon tea is usually held.
I certainly missed the view. The mountains are an absolute attraction and I missed them terribly.
While the food and service were 100% top notch....I really wanted to just enjoy that amazing view with my afternoon tea.
We enjoyed our High Tea experience. As we had had previous High Tea at other Fairmont resorts we had a level of expectation that was met. The food was incredible and the portions more than satiating. Unfortunately due to renovations the High Tea was served in the Castillo Italiano which took away from the ambience. As well they were short staffed that day and we waited quite some time to be acknowledged and seated. Service was otherwise wonderful!
I absolutely loved the high tea experience! We got to smell the teas before choosing which one we wanted to have. The food was amazing - I’m usually a bit fussy about what I like, but I loved pretty much everything they put out for us (there were only one or two I didn’t like as much). The service was fantastic. The only downside was that the Rundle Bar is under renovations, so we were in the Castello Italiana instead. I did know this prior to booking, but I thought we would still have amazing views since we were in the middle of the mountains. The view was okay, but the windows were small, and only one of the seats faced the window. I would still recommend this experience, but I’d also recommend waiting until the renovations are done so you have the best view to go along with the experience.
Our server Meghan was awesome!!
I took my 8 year old for a high tea birthday and it was amazing! I am gluten free and there was so much to eat. It was incredible. Indulge in this high tea experience. Disclaimer, Jan -April high tea is not in the Rundle room.
This review is mostly for our waitress, Sara. She was extremely warm and knowledgeable about the menu. We felt right at home in this gorgeous setting. Sara was super accommodating and friendly even while busy with multiple tables. The food and tea were very well presented and tasted just as delicious. The breathtaking view is definitely the star of the show up there. Highly recommend trying!
Excellent service, breath taking view, and delicious food! I would definitely recommend their experience.
Enjoyed afternoon tea for a relaxing time. My server was excellent and very knowledgeable about the art of tea.
My only concern was the music level coming from somewhere. Too loud for my taste.
Our server, a young East Indian fellow, was superb.
We came for an afternoon tea. So much food, so come hungry. Great experience.
The service was slow on Saturday. We felt like we were waiting for everything. Usually at afternoon tea it’s quick to get your tea and food and then they let you enjoy and check in on you to see how things are going. We waited approximately 45 minutes for the tea pots to be refilled with hot water. It almost seemed like the waitress forgot about our table.
Delicious desserts and amazing tea selection! Well presented.
Early Christmas present for my mother who was visiting from Toronto. We had a great time!
We were so well looked after by Amy. She was helpful, patient and very kind. This is a highlight of my year and it never disappoints.
A lovely afternoon with an incredible view! Amy was a fantastic 'tea concierge' who shared her extensive knowledge of teas, treats and wine as I opted for the Champagne Tea package. A delicious menu with great quality and quantity, and superior service you would expect at a luxury property. A memorable experience for a self-care day or for a special occasion to celebrate with friends & family.
Romantic date with my girlfriend. Our server Amy was friendly, helpful, and made the overall experience more enjoyable. Food was excellent.
Wonderful first time experience at Afternoon Tea. The Rundle Lounge has the most beautiful views of the mountains while you enjoy amazing little bites of various sandwiches, desserts, and scones.
Amazing!! Such a cozy and comfortable experience with a wonderful view!! Will definitely be coming back again.
We had the afternoon tea with the cheese board option and what an amazing experience it was, from the food to the service and the exquisite ambiance. We were pleasantly surprised by the anniversary gift we received: complimentary champagne. The only thing I would suggest is making the sweeter desserts less sweet. There were only two that were too sweet out of the 5 so it wasn't bad. Thank you for making our celebration more special. We will certainly revisit and recommend this place.
Love the ambience, scenery and the experience! It’s a little pricey, but well worth it.
Our server, although kind and friendly, was struggling and forgot a few things. We ordered the full champagne/cheese board high tea and I found it to underwhelm me.
The cheese options were mediocre and to charge and extra $30 for 2 not full glasses of champagne was disappointing.
I have had tea there several times, I just felt disappointed this time. Makes me sad.
I took my partner here for his birthday, and we had a fantastic experience. The service was exceptional, the food was good and a lovely selection on teas for high tea. We definitely plan on going back for sure!
This is a must for everyone!! The staff is well educated, the food is amazing and the views... ohhhh the views.
The atmosphere was lovely and the service was excellent. We greatly enjoyed the experience,
The finest High Tea we have had, far far better than the Fairmont Palliser or the Lougheed House in Calgary or the Empress in Victoria. We do this every year as a birthday treat for our grandson who loves High Tea. He raved about the location, the view and the food! this is the sixth year that we have celebrated his birthday in this manner.
It is well worth the drive and the price - we would recommend it most highly!
Highly recommended for the view alone - the tea was excellent (loved the smelling station!) and the desserts really exquisite, exactly what you would hope for from a high tea! The server seemed to be having a bit of an off day - he was a bit scattered, but still attentive and apologetic when he: forgot our water after we sat down, forgot to return our coats and forgot to give us our packed up leftovers. Some of the sandwiches were a little dry and frankly below what I would expect from the Fairmont. The vegetarian options were delicious but a little uninspired. For example, I had the duck confit tart with mini-brie (excellent!) while my daughter had hummus on a piece of French bread. Still highly recommended, and I hope our slightly-less-than-perfect experience was just an anomaly.
A little bit of perfection. Amazing food, stunning setting and spectacular and friendly service. Not something you do everyday for the price, but something you should experience at least once.
We had an outstanding and exceptional High Tea experience. Looking at the mountains, enjoying sweet and savory treats, wonderful tea choices was an unforgettable afternoon for our family.
Met and exceeded all our expectations. The Champagne tea was worth the extra cost for our small celebration. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable in explaining the entire experience. Everything we had hoped for. 5/5 Stars.
