Runa, the Japanese word for “platinum moon,” offers the unique blend of Dim Sum and Sushi on our menu. We have an extensive Sushi menu 25 individual sushi and sashimi pieces, 30 varieties of rolls or maki and 17 chef specialty rolls. Come grab a seat at our sleek sushi bar or dig into your sushi platter in our spacious dining room. We are located conveniently in Chicago’s Wicker Park on the southeast corner of Oakley and North Ave. Our dining room seats 40 to 50 people so there’s plenty of room for your party. You have to bring your own beer from outside. They serve just sodas. Probably is something normal in Chicago but they should advise the public before make the reservation.

Slow the day/time we were there (Sunday 4PM), but seems like a cool place that would be busy most weeknights. Great sushi and sashimi. Good options for maki as well. And the miso soup hit the spot, recovering from a few too many beers the day before. Server was maybe distracted/bored because we added to our order and she showed up with the wrong thing, twice. But the bill was accurate and it didn't take long to correct the order. Worth going again when it may be a bit more lively to really test ambiance (clean and hip seeming, but add ppl and we'll see).

The food was great! Nice selection. No alcohol, but BYOB. Our seat in the front window was a bit sterile, but the other tables in the restaurant were quite charming. I would have like to sit elsewhere.

They do have TV's but one usually only works, and its always some old school movie.

My daughter and I both enjoyed the suggestions our waitperson brought us. The maki was very tasty and we both left full. It was not very crowded for lunch so we were able to have a nice conversation while eating.
