Rumpus Room Ratings and Reviews
We get together as a family for A Christmas Carol at the Pabst Theater every year and the Rumpus Room is a favorite gathering spot. Even though it was an extremely busy night at Rumpus Room, we were seated promptly and were asked right away by our server, Cassandra if we had any time constraints. We told her our target time to depart. We had appetizers, wine, amazing entrees and dessert; all perfectly timed . Then, we were happily on our way to the show. Thanks, Cassandra! (You too, Joe!!!)
It came in December, the best dining experience of 2017! We were visiting Milwaukee and needed a spot for dinner before a concert. So glad it was Rumpus Room! The cocktails were great, every cheese related appetizer was fantastic, and the scallops n grits special was one of the best meals in my life. That sear on the scallops would make Gordon Ramsey proud. Service was fast and the place felt great! Will be back next time I'm in Milwaukee!
We were seated promptly when we arrived for our reservation. Our waitress was terrific at making sure we have our food and dessert in a timely fashion to make sure we arrived at the MSO with time to spare. We both had salmon with small potatoes...cooked perfectly in a light tomato sauce. The vegetable was a little sparse but good.
Overall great experience. Good food, atmosphere and service was excellent. Decent value for the food. Little overpriced on drinks as usual for downtown Milwaukee. Great location if your going to a show across street at Uliene Hall. Make sure to make a reservation and park in deck behind Rumpus Room and have them validate inside.
We were seated at a table that was crammed next to other tables. We could not avoid bumping other chairs when trying to sit down and wait staff had a hard time getting through. One of us received the wrong entree, though it was promptly corrected. Overall not what we expected from Bartolotta.
It's nice to see that the restaurant added some "specials" aside from the regular menu. Our choices were from the specials and were delicious. Service is always prompt, professional and friendly. Servers are vigilant about ensuring food is served in a timely manner if you have an event that you are attending after dinner, such as a MSO concert.
This restaurant never disapppoints us with tasty and featured food such as the Signature Bacon, Scotch Egg, Pretzel, Pork Shoulder and Sandwiches. The service is very considerate as well. Great ambience too - People are talking but the noice level is moderate and just adds to the neighborhood style atmosphere. I can't wait to go back there again.
We had a really wonderful time at Rumpus Room. The menu had just changed to the fall menu and the selections were lovely. We especially enjoyed the new Fall pork dish. And the cheddar selection, I think it was a 12 year, was out of this world. Of course, we can never pass on our basic favorites, the cheese curds and the bacon strips, I hope those never leave the menu. We only wish we would have had room to sample desserts, but the dishes are very hearty and large portions, so we had no room left. Our server, Patrick, was incredible as always. No matter how busy things are, he always slows down to have the exact conversations we want and he knows every menu listing inside out. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone I know.
