LOVE THE FOOD! Love that you offer Nourishing Cultures kombucha. Servers are always fantastic. Not all the chairs are comfortable especially for smaller/shorter people. We recommend NOT ordering fries in a take-out order unless they figure out how not to pack them in the same container as the steamy entree. Steamed fries are a huge disappointment. We we want fries, we show up in person!
We had a great meal at Rumour. Our (masked) server was so friendly and gave us recommendations o ff7n places to go after dinner. The owner was congenial and stopped by every table to visit. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful Missoula evening. Food was great but here’s a tip: if you order the chicken sandwich have the bbq sauce put on the side. It was messy and drippy. The salmon Caesar was delish.
Great food and service!
I've eaten at Rumour three times in the last two weeks and enjoyed it every time. The restaurant is quiet and a wonderful place to relax with friends...I can actually hear my friends!!! The owners often visit the tables and check in with customers; something I truly appreciate. The dishes are delicious!! It's a nice place to go when you want a special dinner. It is not cheap, but the portions are generous and everyone is friendly and accommodating.
A very relaxed atmosphere for a valentines dinner for two. The music was just the right volume to still be able to talk. The waitress was so pleasant and welcoming, as were the hostess and all help. Our meal was top of the line in every way. Acoustics in this restaurant are excellent for its size. Just a very pleasant experience.
We left after 15 minutes, never ordered drinks or food (were asked if we wanted a menu? Um ... yes?) Seated in the middle of a loud room at a small, very unstable table. Staff were not welcoming and disappeared quickly. When they didn't come back, we got up and left.
I love the atmosphere. It's visually interesting. Having different rooms keeps the noise level down so that it's easy to have a conversation. The service was pretty slow on the night we went. We gave the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were unexpectedly short handed. The wait staff was very pleasant. The food and drink orders were correct. The service was just slow at every point. The food was "meh," especially for the price. All persons in our party were disappointed with the food quality. Honestly, I've had better food at Denny's. Would I recommend Rumour to a friend? I answered yes, but I will add the caveat that I would recommend it for a drinks-only gathering. I would not recommend the food.
In my opinion they looked like they would be going out of business shortly.
We were allowed to make a reservation on this site for 11:45am. When we got there we learned that only the bar was open, and that was from a customer. They had a sum total of three people in the bar, not an employee anywhere.
We walked through the entire restaurant looking for an employee, none to be found.
The lights were on but nobody was there...
John and Coleen are always exceptionally gracious hosts. They strive to keep the quality and creativity high and never disappoint. I’m able to visit at least once a year and there are always new and delicious changes to the menu. Cheers to all the staff!
Awesome food and ambiance on New Year’s Eve! The staff was fantastic and the music was very enjoyable!!
Rumours is the BEST! Love the food and atmosphere. Wonderful menu that is diverse enough for anyone to enjoy! This is my favorite restaurant in town. Thank you for making amazing and flavorful food!
Our Christmas Eve Dinner was everything we hoped. We ordered all the appetizers --innovative and excellent-- so we could share small plates with daughter and boyfriend.
We had a horrible experience from start to finish and we frequent rumor. We waited almost 10 minutes to be seated then it took 10 minutes for our waitress to come to our table. Our entrees were cold and one was completely forgotten. It came out almost 15 minutes after the rest. Worst, they over charged us a glass of wine. The waitress acted like all of this was our fault and was much less than friendly. Honestly she was very rude. She half heartedly offered a free dessert for our table. She couldn’t reverse the charge on our card for the extra wine. At the end of the meal they offered us a gift card for the money they over charged us. Yes our own money. We said we do not want to come back so we do not want a gift card. They ended up keeping all our money on our card because for some reason they could not refund the card for some reason. They gave us $25 cash. It all seemed very fishy and our waitress was less than accommodating. Also the owners refused to talk to us during this whole issue. We were repeat customers and they lost us for due to lack of service and failure to respond to issues. Very disappointed.
Lunch menu was perfect. The Vietnamese Fries were delicious and one order was the perfect size appetizer for our party of four. The menu had something for each of us: pulled Pork tacos, nicoise salad, ahi tuna wraps, and a burger. Dessert was delicious! Service was great.
Nice, welcoming atmosphere with a menu that was full of flavorful items. Too many to try in even a couple visits. The Duck Fried Rice was a standout flavor bomb!
Great food. Great atmosphere. Very slow service. Went again a second time and food was also great, service slow, although I think it was the kitchen, not the wait staff.
Poor value and execution. Restaurant temp too cold, food took too long, food only average and arrived stone cold. Had to send one serving back to warm up. In all a disappointing experience. Management is not up to an ostentatious facility.
We have taken many of our friends to rumors with us, this trip was one of our daughters. The staff is great and very accommodating along with the owners mingling around! Our waitress Shelby was superb. Thank you to you and your staff for excellent service and hospitality! KEEP the VIETNAMESE FRIES please!!!!
We had a nice dinner at the bar. Good atmosphere and all the servers were pleasant and efficient. Also met the owners who made us feel very welcome.
Best menu in town. Great unusual dishes plus a few old favorites that are expertly prepared. Very attentive wait staff. Friendly and knowledgeable. Little pricy but worth it. Also easy to change reservation and add people without a problem.
Four of us went for dinner recently, and our meals were wonderful (including the cherry tort for dessert). My wife and I split the Wagyu Wellington, and it was plenty of food for the two of us. It was also awesome! And the owner stopped by our table to check in everything was fine, which is always a good sign. Definitely recommend Rumour!
Exceptional service, and food was excellent. The only improvement would be to not be seated so near the bar.
We had a blast with our servers and meeting the owners! The food was great as was the wine list. Cool vibe and eclectic menu. We will be back!
We were so delighted to find this restaurant while in town for the Griz Game. The restaurant was upscale but comfortable and the food and drinks were delicious. We would not hesitate to come back and highly recommend checking it out if you have not been.
Exquisite flavors, large portions, lovely ambiance!
We lived in Missoula for 4 years. Rumour opened 2 years before we left and we never made it. Our daughter recommended it, and while we were there this weekend, we went. It was amazing.
We were pleased with everything with the exception of the Albariño wine I ordered. It was a tap wine, and sadly had a bit of a vinegar aftertaste. I’ve had the same wine in the past, and enjoyed it, so not sure what happened this time. Otherwise, great dining experience!
The ambiance was amazing, and we loved the music! The flavor of our prime ribs was on point- but the temperature of the meat was not right. We ordered one at medium and one at medium rare. Both of those steaks should show pink and we got medium well and well done. I felt so bad sending back these steaks but the waitress was so darn sweet and understanding!
Great suggestion by a friend for dinner. Loved every bit. Food was outstanding and the cocktails were awesome.
This was the first time that my wife and I had tried Rumour. We both ordered a glass of red wine that was average at best for $12.00 each. My wife ordered a shrimp pasta with anchovies and I ordered a sicilian pizza. My pizza was very good, but when my wife got her dish, she said it tasted kind of bland, the reason why, no anchovies. To preface, however, I should mention it took over 50 minutes to receive our dinner after ordering, unacceptable....... Our waitress was very nice and kept apologizing for the wait and offered to bring us some bread. after our meal, our waitress offered a dessert at no extra charge for the wait, but we turned that down as well. We asked our waitress that instead of a desert could she possibly deduct one of the glasses of wine from our bill and she gladly did. Our waitress was excellent, our food was OK but the wait time was ridiculous. As a 1st time impression, I am sorry to say that we won't be back. Missoula has too many "Good" restaurants to offer to have to deal with service like we had experienced. Sorry for the crappy review, but everything I have said is the truth.
We waited for twenty minutes while we were ignored by the hostess and then by the owner. The hostess spent most of her time visiting tables of her friends. We finally left.
We had a rather large party--9 people (with reservations). The restaurant was busy and they were very understaffed...which they admitted. Because of that, the service was not great. We went to the bar to get our own drinks and for a 515 reservation, our food came at around 630 (we probably did not order until 545-6). Again, they admitted they were not expecting the crowd and were understaffed, but we were almost late for our concert. The food, however, was great. Everyone at our table had something different and everyone enjoyed their meal. I would give it another chance assuming they just had an off night.
Great place to hang out, celebrate birthday's or an anniversary. We had a fabulous experience. The fillet was butter knife tender.. Our 3rd time here and will be back with friends,, Craig
We thought the food was very good. I have not been here for a few years and decided to try it as we heard the chef from Silk Road and Perugia was there. We were very pleasantly surprised. Loved the food and will definitely be back.
We had an excellent meal. Our table of four had fresh fish, pasta and prime rib. Each dish was perfectly prepared and delicious! We love the large selection of wines and tap beers. Dessert was excellent as well. The staff was attentive, but left us our privacy during dinner. Looking forward to our next visit!
Our server was amazing, the food was amazing . The staff was super friendly when I was cold they offered me a blanket for my legs
An excellent place to have dinner! Thank you for a great experience.
The food and service were wonderful. The only reason the noise level was a bit high was because we sat on the patio and there was some traffic on the road. We will be back!
4 of us got together there and had a great time. It’s a nice atmosphere that’s not too loud, but not dead quiet - the perfect balance for us. The food options were great and the food we did order was amazing! Presentation was just right for the restaurant, and the food was delicious. I got the French dip sandwich which I would recommend. The owner even came around and introduced himself and made sure we were comfortable.
