On holiday weekends do not go without reservations. On Friday night they were swamped, people without reservations walked away. For the 4 of us it took over 75 minutes to get and finish our meal. The waiter tried his best to get us out of their because we had a play to watch.

It took an hour and a half to get our food, which arrived cold. Ravioli was too tough to eat, as was the pork chop. Three tables abandoned their order or returned their food while we were there. What the heck happened? This used to be a great neighborhood place to take guests.

The service was very bad. Our reservation was at 6:30, we did not leave the restaurant until almost 9:30. For four people who ordered an appetizer of fries, that took an hour and a half to arrive and then 4 dinners that arrived an hour after that it was crazy. We had to ask for our appetizer twice and requested our check just before our dinner showed up because it had taken so long just to be told it would be right out. 3 of 4 of the meals were cold. The food was good, and the waiter was polite-just not very good at customer service. We did did get any sort of explanation on the wait nor discount. The table next to us was equally upset about their wait. As a fan of this restaurant I was really disappointed and probably won’t go back. Our guests had never been there before and told me it was the worst service they have ever had and will never go back. I was very disappointed in this experience.

I don't expect to pay $27 dollars for an entrée at a sports bar! I asked to sit anywhere without a TV, and we were sat right below 2.

My friend and I each ordered Eggs Benedict without the ham. It was..OK. There was a spice in the Hollandaise sauce which I had never tasted in Eggs Benedict before and I didn't like it. Fortunately, it wasn't strong. Also, I prefer that dish with the eggs poached more lightly and a more generous portion of the sauce. I found the dish to be a little on the dry side. I ordered a virgin Bloody Mary and it was horrible! Undrinkable, even after I asked the waiter to modify it.
On the positive side, we did like the atmosphere and the service. In fact, we enjoyed ourselves so much, we forgot that they closed at 2pm on Sundays! When we realized we had overstayed, we apologized and made haste! The staff was very friendly about it.

Unremarkable in both food and service. Go to Paul's Pancakes two blocks away or downtown for better food quality and service.

I have been going to Rumour for several months now. It is so nice to now have a go to place for mid-town. The owners are wonderful and always check in to see how things are. I love having great wine on tap given Missoula doesn't recycle glass. The menu changes often giving lots of new things to try and there is always a great variety of options. We go for couples night but I also have business meals there because the individual rooms allow for as much or little privacy as you might need. Great place.

Rumour is our new favorite restaurant in Missoula. Their food is as locally sourced as possible and they serve organic produce. The owners came by and visited with us. Both very personable. The wait staff is very friendly. The food is exceptional, served in a very timely manner and beautifully presented. We would highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back whenever we are in Missoula.

This place was quite busy when I arrived at 6pm on a Friday night and I was glad to have a reservation as others were being told there were no tables available. The cocktails here are very good. The bartender made two whisky cocktails, both of which tasted great and were not watered down. I had the prime rib and while it was very good, the knives at this place are not sharp at all. It took a lot of work to cut through a tender prime rib. I had a second steak knife brought out, but it was the same issue. The manager said they need to sharpen their knives. Despite that, I really liked the food and atmosphere. It is on the pricier side though. You will spend about $50 per person or more unless you stick to burgers and soda.

Great decor but tvs were on as a live music act was on and that was odd. Hard to find a nice dining experience withOUT keno and tvs going on. Also the patrons at the bar were so loud and foul mouthed it REALLY made the atmosphere uncomfortable

One of the better restaurants in Zoo-town...I am wondering if there has been a change in the kitchen as the food has taken a decidedly negative turn...

Good food, great service. My husband has food allergies and they accommodated nicely. Had the bruschetta as an appetizer but it was so large and delicious (salami, spreads, oil and vinegar) that it was nearly a meal itself.

Food was excellent. The wait staff was very courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. The hostess was surly and very poorly dressed. When you're paying $50+ per person for a meal, you don't want to see ragged short shorts and a tank top with flip flops.

The food was superb. We had the bacon jelly bruchetta and it was divine. We had a steak and salmon. Both were excellent. The fingerling potatoes could have cooked a little longer but that was minor. Our waiter choose an excellent chardonnay to go with the salmon and the desserts topped the meal off perfectly ( chocolate pudding and ice cream). I would go back again in a heart beat.

My third visit. Excellent food and service. The wine list is mind boggling. They also have a huge number of great wines on tap which I love - Missoula does not have glass recycling and this helps the environment while offering many options for wine by the glass. It is also very nice to have a midtown option for dining. This will become a regular spot for us.

Food was great and price was good. The only draw back is the AC did not function well so they opened the doors. Downside it was 96 degrees outside. This really spoiled what could have been a memorable dinner. I would return but only on a cooler day.

Love the ambiance, comfortable, casual, great food and great service. Salmon was fresh, they allowed for side substitutions, prime rib sandwich was outstanding, filet was melt in your mouth delicious. Tried 2 desserts, raspberry/rhubarb cobbler, the fruit was delicious, the biscuit was tough. Second dessert was a cocktail dessert, old fashioned float, delicious. The server was attentive without hovering and interrupting. The Owner made rounds to each table which was very nice. Overall excellent experience!

We had a wonderful experience here celebrating my son's graduation. Our wait staff took excellent care of a party of eight. Everyone at our table that had prime rib or steak loved their meal. One person at our table had ordered the trout not realizing it came whole - head on, the works. They took it back and fileted it for her and brought out a beautifully plated fish. The only critique I have is that those of us who had a pasta dish noticed that each of them could have used more salt. Overall we had a great experience.

A great place to enjoy a nice selection of eateries in the Missoula area. Their wine selection is more than fantastic, and they serve all their food on very nice plates that makes it more like an elegant place to eat. The owners are people oriented, and make sure your meal and service is satiafactory. A true diamond in the rough.

We chose Rumour b/c of the no tipping policy initiated when it first opened; our son was taking a first date, and we knew teenagers are usually disrespected in restaurants when solo, so we hoped the n0 tipping would eliminate that server fear/issue. Unfortunately, the built-in tip policy is defunct and they were not treated well. After they ordered, and the food was brought to the table, no one ever checked back. The linguine and shrimp dish was too spicy and the other main - pad Thai - was tasteless! They left feeling taken advantage of - $54 w/out alcohol - and disappointed in the quality of food and rude service.

This was our second trip to this restaurant where we ordered items that had sold out. Our first attempt you were out of Prime Rib on Sunday, our second attempt you were out of 3 different appetizers and cheesecake by 8:00 pm on Friday. An apology from the owner gets old very quickly and does not do much to repair a relationship with a customer when we were charged over $300 for 4 people (including 2 comped items). Great service from our waitress, but extremely frustrating when the owner has to come out and continually apologize in order to save face and avoid bad reviews from the customers. Being prepared to serve all customers what is listed on the menu will be the best thing that can be done to prevent negative reviews.

This was our first time to Rumor. We were seated in front of their fireplace, which at first was ok but was very hot by the time we left. It took a long time to get out food. We were both on a second drink before we got our salads. Which was odd because a 6 tip was next to us and they were served entrees before our salads and we were seated first. Entrees followed shortly after salads. Food was good. Drinks were good. If we would have been under a time crunch it would have been awful, but luckily we had lots of time.

This was our first trip to Rumour. We were promptly seated and our waitress was right there to offer cocktails, water and our menus. My wife ordered a local IPA and I decided to try A BLOODY MARY after flying in early and being a bit on edge. The beer was really great and my Bloody Mary came with all the trimmings..bacon, oh ya!! Our appetizers, Salmon Cakes and Calamari were present nicely and delicious. We both tried the beet salad and Slow roasted Prime Rib. Both of us found the salad to be amazing, nice combo of spinach, beets, walnuts and tangy dressing. Our Prime Rib was outstanding!! Very little waste, tender, tasteful, both pieces a perfect medium rare. I had to borrow a wagon to take half of my roast home. They said it was 18 oz....it was much more and I enjoyed every bite. We both left room for desert. Bread pudding with a caramelized crust and ice cream. I should have stopped after two bites but powered through the entire desert...OMG!! Really delicious. If your in Missoula, give this place a shot.
