Chef Ali Mesghali"s nearly lifelong love of cooking combined with his love for Sufism brought to life for the first time in Atlanta's culinary scene the concept of Rumi's Kitchen in 2005.
At Rumi's Kitchen, Ali has been able to artfully bring together an atmosphere full of joyous energy with attentive and generous Persian hospitality along with the unforgettable unique aromas and flavors of the Persian cuisine which is truly reflective of his simple intention to bring joy and happiness to the overall dining experience of the guests. Every member of the team at Rumi's Kitchen strives in delivering the service that is demanded by such a unique intention and vision.
While Rumi's Kitchen is a Persian restaurant at its core, the menu is constantly supplemented by dishes pulling influences from other countries, keeping the cuisine at the forefront of the dining scene in Atlanta.

Yes the music is loud, BUT it is a great gathering spot for friends and family. It is an excellent place to people watch and a great place to try new cocktails. We had the corn ribs for an appetizer! Very well seasoned! We also enjoyed the lamb shank and the the rack for dinner. It’s hard to decide which was better. It did take over an hour for our entree to make it to the table. We did not notice or care because Arianna , made sure we were seen and kept in the loop. Best experienced service we have had in over a year!

Have eaten here many times. Unfortunately this will be our last. The good and service are great so it’s a shame. They proceed to pack more and more tables in.. With a reservation we were put at a 4 top shoved into the entrance walkway right next to a bar high top… Every guest and server entering and leaving were parading by. The person at the bar high top’s bottom was inches away from my face.. I had to turn caddy corner to avoid contact.. No understanding why they are making it so uncomfortable. The place was packed and on a wait at 6 on a Tuesday night…

Don was our server and he was outstanding.. efficient and friendly but let us have our table uninterrupted. We had 3 people and we all enjoyed our meals very very very much! there were 2 veggie kababs with salmon hummus ( amazing and very generous) and a beef kabab. We enjoyed the fancy rice with orange peels. It says it all... it was a Tuesday and in a rain storm and yet the restaurant was packed. The noice level was harder for our hearing aid wearer. Time and money well spent... looking forward to he next time

Rumis is our absolute favorite restaurant. The quality is consistent every time. You MUST get the lamb rack, watermelon salad, and lamb hummus! If that's not your jam, explore the menu... there is nothing we tried that we have not liked! Ambiance is wonderful for celebrations, or casual lunches. Casual and comfy! Bring your appetite!

The food was delicious, and our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The location is great, especially with Avalon shopping nearby—we had a great time overall. The only downside was that it was very hot inside the restaurant. Even while seated, we were hot, so I can only imagine how uncomfortable it must have been for our waitress moving around constantly.

We have been to Rumi's many times and they never disappoint. The food is always excellent. My husband loves the wings and I enjoy the Kashk Bandenjoon as a starter. For entrees, we love the lamb rack with lentil and raisin basmati rice and the roasted salmon. I have also had the chicken kabob and the Chilean Sea Bass -- all are terrific! They have a nice wine list and good cocktail offerings as well as delicious Persian tea! The portions are ample in size. We have always had good service. My only complaint is the noise level. It is challenging to have good conversation due to the noise level. There was a wedding in their front room last night, which made the noise level particularly loud.

I love the food and cocktails at Rumi’s. Chicken Barg with grilled veggies is my “go to”. My husband had a kabob. The only issue we experienced with this visit was that our reservation was for a standard table and they tried to put us at a high table in the bar. Open Table gave me a selection and I picked standard. We had to wait an addition 30 minutes for a standard table. I mentioned it to the hostess and she said that the reservation doesn’t come through specifying the table type. I will call them next time.

Rumi’s is consistent. The food quality and menu selections are fantastic. We have been several times and always have good service. During our recent visit we had Arriana as our server. She was fantastic! Great personality and communication skills. She definitely represented the Rumi’s brand well.

Service and food experience are always outstanding. Weekends at Avalon are generally chaotic, so we were prepared for that, and went anyway. We made reservations for a mid-afternoon lunch to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and had a wonderful time!
