About Rumi's Kitchen - Sandy Springs
Welcome to Rumi's Kitchen - Sandy Springs! The premier Sandy Springs location for Persian Cuisine. Owner and Head Chef Ali Mesghali’s unique and flavorful touch has been wowing patrons for over 20 years. His previous restaurant, Persepolis, was a Sandy Springs favorite.
Rumi’s Kitchen - Sandy Springs draws influence from the culinary mother of the Middle East, Persia, which spanned from the banks of the Nile River in the west to the mountains of Northern India in the east, and from the shores of the Caspian Sea in the north to the deserts of Arabia in the south of the Persian Gulf.

Rumi's Kitchen - Sandy Springs Ratings and Reviews
When I made the reservation, I requested to be seated in the back room. Also mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday. When we got to the restaurant (at 6:00 it was not the least bit crowded), the hostess took us to the table closest to the entrance. Of course I told her that we specifically requested the back room. So then she took us to the back room and without asking if it was ok, started to put menus down on a table in the middle of the room when there were available tables by the window. When I asked if we could have one of the window tables, she did accommodate us. I just find it insulting when restaurants try to pawn off the least desirable tables on the early arrivals.
Also, no mention was made of the fact that we were celebrating a birthday. Why ask on the reservation if not to provide something special for the customer?
I was really looking forward to my visit at Rumi’s, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. I went with a group of girlfriends for a moms’ night out and to celebrate a birthday. It was my turn to choose the restaurant and I am quite embarrassed with how bad this particular outing went. I felt we had to yell at each other to converse because it was so loud in the front room. I mentioned it was a friend’s birthday to the host, and that was never acknowledged at our table. Our server was terrible. She was nice, but she was struggling with our orders the entire time. She brought out the wrong items. I ordered a side, asked for it twice and never received it. She also messed up half of our tickets when it was time to pay. About the only thing that saved this trip was the quality of food. Otherwise, it was very difficult to enjoy ourselves. I NEVER leave this bad of a review for a restaurant or business, but sadly I can’t let this one slide.
The food was amazing. It was a Saturday night and we made reservations late so that's our bad but when we did get seated it seems we were in the patio that had been covered. It was drafty and loud. There were also 2 toddlers that were screaming ( not the restaurant's fault but wouldn't sit a couple that seem to be on a date next to screaming children... now we know to make reservations sooner and also we know what part of the restaurant we don't want to sit in. But the food.... I was so glad we had leftovers for the next day... awesome.
The food was incredible and the service in the restaurants was great. However, we had to wait almost 30 minutes to be seated even though we were on time for our reservation. The valet was also extremely disorganized. We had to wait 10 minutes for them to take our car when we arrived, and then waited 10 minutes in the cold for the valet to bring us our car back.
Words cannot describe how amazing this restaurant is....I have been to Rumi’s kitchen at least a dozen times over the last five years… And the quality service and food has consistently been outstanding. Highly recommend their Seabass.
Ricky was our server today and was by far the most impressive. He was very knowledgeable about each item and would recommend his favorite dishes as part of his amazing service. It made us feel like VIP!!
A must go for any one that likes high quality food!
The food was really great. Our service was definitely not the quickest but the server was very helpful in suggestions and he made sure we had a great desert, on the house, to continue the birthday celebration. I wish I could remember his name but he was great. Awesome experience!
Had another amazing meal at Rumi's!! We find ourselves coming back week after week. We love introducing friends to this gem of a spot. Christine has been our waitress the past 2 times and we LOVE her. She is very attentive, kind and sociable. We will be back! Thanks Rumi's for the great eats.
The food is always good but very noisy and crowded on Saturday night. New waitress and service was unusually slow. The salmon is a very generous portion and my favorite. The grilled vegetables are also very good. The shrimp looked amazing. It's a well run restaurant and very enjoyable food.
It was hopping on a Friday night. Our meals were very good (highlights: hummus and smoked eggplant appetizers) and the portions were very generous. The service was friendly and knowledgeable but clearly overburdened with tables. Drinks took 20 minutes plus to arrive so either the bar was backed up or the servers had too many tables. A very nice night out but perhaps not at their busiest time.
