Rumi's Kitchen - Sandy Springs
Rumi’s Kitchen - Sandy Springs draws influence from the culinary mother of the Middle East, Persia, which spanned from the banks of the Nile River in the west to the mountains of Northern India in the east, and from the shores of the Caspian Sea in the north to the deserts of Arabia in the south of the Persian Gulf.

2 women for a business lunch. It did not start off well when they seated us in the small section that they found to cram more tables with no atmosphere. We were freezing since we were in the path of the entrance. It was probably the worst table they could have chosen. As a repeat diner this is the second time they’ve done this to me. I requested to be moved and they obliged. I enjoy the food but I will not bring clients there since they treat women much differently than men. It wasn’t as if there weren’t plenty of other tables since we arrived before the lunch crowd. They made a conscious decision to seat us in the worst location.
Another great experience! We had the best server-Sara. She had a smile on her face the entire evening. We literally could not believe the high level of service...so nice and attentive. We will ask for her again! Food is amazing!
Excellent server named Zee with great knowledge of the food selections. The appetizers and entree was excellent. Persian tea at the end of the meal was perfect.
Food and service were very good! Was disappointed that the shrimp kabob was not available...was on the menu but the waiter said they had not had it for over 5 months.
This is a favorite go-to place for me -- the food is consistently delicious and I love the "vibe" in this restaurant. My only complaint is the very slow valet parking -- the charging of a $2 fee to the company and then a tip. That is now clearly stated when you drop off your car.
Wow what a difference a relocation and renovation makes!
Rumi’s dining space is well designed and spacious. From the moment of arrival (it’s recommended to be 10-15 minutes early to your reservation for valet and wait), it’s as though you stepped into a restaurant in a foreign country. A beautiful fountain is in the middle of the restaurant, an open kitchen and an island bar. The front and the back of the restaurant has a more intimate setting and the middle room is good for large groups. There was a table for 10!
My occasion was a surprise bday dinner. And I forgot to mention that until my arrival which the restaurant accommodated well.
Our server Benjamin offered wine or sparkling wine for an aperitif and my friend declined.
I was conflicted whether to get the featured starter and the lamb sliders and Benjamin recommended the lamb sliders. The sliders were good sized portions. Lamb was tender and well seasoned and was garnished with tzatkiki sauce, fresh beets, half a slice of tomato and a mini Persian pickle. Good presentation and Great taste.
The entrees were equally matched. My friend ordered the leaner chicken fare with half rice and salad, he was very impressed with the taste of the chicken, verbatim “best chicken I’ve had dining out.”
I ordered the salmon with dill and salad. The cucumbers and beets were fresh in the salad, the half filet of salmon was burnt on the edges and skin but on top was cooked well. Had no taste of dill. Maybe the dill was suppose to be in the rice? There was also a roasted tomato but that was also burnt on the outside. Thankfully I don’t eat tomatoes.
Benjamin checked in periodically and gave great recommendations. At the end he offered tea/ coffee and we got tea. He even gave us an extra pot of hot water just in case the tea was too dark. We were comfortably full. While we were drinking he came by with complimentary baklava for dessert!
My friend was surprised. Thank you for creating a great birthday dinner.
I have been to Rumi’s many times and was excited to bring my son there for his 22nd Birthday.
The service and table were good.
The food was mediocre. I remember when I used to leave raving about the quality of the sea bass, the preparation of the meat and the attention to details.
This time - meh.
I am not sure I will be going back to what used to be one of my top recommendations.
Unfortunate for all.
Maybe Ruml’s will make it right and retain my corporate business.
I have complaints for an abnormal noises. I didn’t like “front house” when you have seatings done. My friends have came , but one my friend was very late ( she has reasons) and we , three ladies, needs hang over ... can’t be seated and after we are late go to the movie and rushed to eat our lunch. Needs to work on this...
Food and service was good .
I decided to take my parents to dinner for their 27th wedding anniversary. They’re response after leaving Rumi’s was “please don’t do this again”. Our reservations were at 9 pm. We were eventually seated around 9:40pm. We ordered our meals and drinks and were served rather quickly. Everything was dry and charred to the “t”. My mom and boyfriend complained that everything tasted burnt. The rice was so dry and we were told there were no sauces to help us endure through the meal. Our tab was $186. No one finished their meal and didn’t dare take to go boxes. Horrible horrible experience. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Excellent food, good value, very popular. Reservations a must on weekends.
Happy for them that they are so busy, however, the parking situation is unacceptable. It was bad enough that at 5:30 on a Saturday night you had to wait for too many minutes to get a valet to take your car, but after dinner we waited 20 minutes from the time we got in line outside to retrieve our car until the valet gave up, and simply gave us our keys, told us where the car was parked, and had us walk through the rain to get our car.
Food and service inside was fully satisfactory, but doubt I'll return until they get the parking situation corrected.
Went for sister in law birthday. Have been here many times and service is always fantastic and the food is second to none! I’m Persian and this place is absolutely wonderful! The only downside has nothing to do with the restaurant it’s self. The valet parking is a nightmare! We waited 30 minutes for our car, along with 20 other people. Then it was a mad house getting out of the driveway! Please work on some typing solution for your valet since it is the only method of parking.
Excellent, delicious, authentic middle eastern food. Service was OK, too busy to get much attention and too loud to hear anything anyway. Will still be back though, the food was exceptionally good.
The quality of food still good, but it can be improved-
It was interesting, tasty and very loud!
They are amazing here every time!! Food is fantastic, love going!!
Second time there. Excellent food and service but too noisy for us.
Best food in Atlanta. Great service. Good value.
The food and service are always good, but it is so loud in the restaurant that it is difficult to carry on a conversation. Also, the valet service is horrible, plan ahead to get there, you will wait to get into the parking lot.
Very loud restaurant and the food was not that good. The service was odd also. We didn't even know what the servers were slapping down on the table - no explanations. Would not recommend.
Always good food and service. It is loud and hard to hear your party if you are there after 7:00.
Rumi's is a fun atmosphere any day of the week. It's very well run from the kitchen to the wait staff to the valet service. It's a great environment to bring clients or family/friends. The food and staff are very reliable.
I was in town for a conference and came with my team per recommendation of a native Atlanta friend and WOW!
Truly the best Persian food we’ve ever had. Everything served was better than the last. What an amazing experience, and absolute gorgeous fiddle figs in the middle of the restaurant!
Nicole was an exceptional waitress, five stars
We love Rumi’s fresh delicious food. We have never had a bad experience!
Great service and delicious food. It was jam-packed on Sat night...and very loud, but I understand why it's such a popular place!
The hostess was not attentive and despite saying our name 3 times she still put us as a no show for our reservation. I had to call the restaurant after to have them correct the no show for the reservation. I said liendo party of 2 like 3 times and she kept saying party of 4?! Also the restaurant was freezing cold. Made the ambiance not cozy at all. The food is always excellent.
I so enjoy the food at Rumi it’s always mouth watering delicious and I can’t wIt to come back ! Love the Seabass
Rumis is awesome! Place is so good and consistent.price keeps creeping up, hope that stops
It was a great place to celebrate my fiancé and I anniversary.
Fabulous! Delicious, fresh and incredible service.
Made a reservation on Open Table and were sested next to the bar at a high top table. Louder than usual in this part of the restaurant and less comfortable.
Our waiter also seemed to be taking care of more tables than can be ideal as his responsiveness was less than ideal since he was very busy.
Food quality is always exceptional and it was during this occasion as well.
Best Middle Eastern / Persian food in the entire US
I love Rumi's food and service. Unfortunately, the noise level is excessive. We have requested to sit in the patio area, but it seems to be closed every time we request to sit there. There is much less noise outside. We are considering just getting our food to go.
Rumi's is always consistently amazing from stellar service, flavorful food options and an environment that is always lively. We had the date salad, shrimp appetizer, lamb sliders and salmon entree on this visit and every bite was yummy!
The food was good but nothing was outstanding.
Delicious food and great food
