This was my husband and I 2nd visit, 1st visit for our Kids, the food didn't have much to offer for kids. We had no idea we were doing brunch that day and time. We made reservations online and chose dinner. Wish someone would've informed us we were doing brunch around that time and to pick another TIME. None of the food was GOOD at ALL. Needless to say my husband didn't enjoy his 31st B-day dining experience.
The quality of food was above average. The service was personable and above average. The only downfall of the restaurant is the cleanliness of flatware and glasses. I would guess that the kitchen ensures that the dishes are clean when they are plating the food. Hire an extra busser and have them polish flatware and glasses. It is much more pleasant to enjoy a higher price point bottle of wine in a clean polished glass.
The service was ok , but short staffed! We made the reservation for a 50th anniversary ! We were seated in the middle of a football game watching crowd. Very noisy and distracting. We were eligible for a complimentary appetizer but we received a bill with the cost of the appetizer charged to us.
We went to celebrate my son's honor roll and he had the crabmeat cheesecake for the first time and said he was a little hesitant to try it; but later told the waiter and I that he can't believe he ever doubted us! Haha. We always go to Ruffinos for celebrations and it never disappoints..staff and food. Always a delight.
Love this place! This was my first visit and I will be back. The service was great as was the food.
I had the shrimp and grits special which was delicious, I did get to taste the corn and crab bisque which I also enjoyed. The presentation of the food was lovely, especially the shrimp corn dogs!
My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Ruffino's from the attendance of every member of the staff to the delectable meal. The appetizer we chose (grilled oysters) was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed the lobster pasta, lightly seasoned with olive oil and spices containing generous morsels of lobster (mm mm!!) Highly recommended!!!
We had an AMAZING burger (of all things) when we went for brunch. Do yourself a favor a go have one RIGHT NOW! Its not what I typically would get at Ruffino's but I am so glad I did. We will be back :)...not that there was really any question about that anyway!
Unfortunately it was below expectations. The dipping oil they serve with the bread was extremely overpowering with rosemary and other seasonings - not good.
The tuna appetizer was overly salty.
My husband ordered the Chicken Marsala which was bland and I ordered the cedar plank red fish which was probably the best of everything we had. I doubt we will go back - at least not any time soon. Towards the end of our meal (we went for lunch) the restaurant was very crowded and noisy. The wait staff took quite a while to finally get us our check so we could leave. They may have been shorthanded.
We really enjoy Ruffino's but there is one complaint. We typically bring our own wine to restaurants and we are aware of the corking fee. We've never been charged such fee per bottle! It is just wrong for us to be charged $40 because we brought two bottles of wine. This will definitely be something we consider the next time we decide to dine out.
Had the lobster special. Found the bisque was not seasoned good and the lobster in it was tough. The lobster cakes were good and so was the bread pudding. It was kind of annoying every server that came to our table asked if we were celebrating something special. We asked for some plain butter and it took a long time to come and that server then spilled it on the table. First time we had been there in a long time and it will probably be a long time before we go back
Servers are very attentive. Loved that the table is served food at the same time (where they circle your table and put all plates down in unison). Courteous and will give suggestions when asked and also listens to your specific requests. Attentive to the fact that I did not quite like the bread pudding and offered another treat. The cotton candy at the end made me feel like a kid again. Only hesitation going back in summer is there was a fire lit and the aroma and irritation of smoke made me grateful I was not sitting closer to it.
