I've been before and we've never been disappointed. Making reservations went very smoothly. We walked in right on time and were immediately taken to our table. Someone approached us right away and we received all food and beverage in good timing. I received an excellent wine recommendation. We all got different cuts of steak with different temperatures and all were cooked perfectly! Great food, great service, will definitely be back. I recommend reservations because they do get very busy on the weekends!
Had same waiter as previous outing, he was just as good as our service in July/August. However, his help was not as attentive as before. Also, even though we were there to celebrate our anniversary, we requested a dessert menu twice and it was not provided that, just the "free" Happy Anniversary plate. No coffee, no after dinner drink(s), nothing. Very disappointed.
Well I was disappointed to say the VERY least! I proceeded to make reservations,l and plans were made. We drove up to the restaurant to find out that It was CLOSED! why in the world would online take reservations if the restaurant is closed?? It seems as though the restaurant, billboard and online reservation should be in sync! Very very very disappointing!! It was our 20th wedding anniversary that we were going to spend with our children!
The service was great, the food was not. The baked redfish with crabmeat was completely boring with no discernible flavor. Also no notable sides were available. The entire menu itself was very conservative as far as choices. We only ate here because we had gift cards. It was also like this the one other time we ate here years ago. We will probably never eat here again.....
Went with my mother and my boyfriend on Christmas Eve. It was quite busy and servers were almost over attentive due to this! Had long waits on drinks but one of our servers made up for it with a complimentary dessert. Apps: Creole Cheesecake and the beef cheeks. Cheesecake was AMAZING.. cheeks so-so. Entrees: Mother and I split a 12 oz filet. It was quite tasty but actually cold to the touch in the center. We asked for Medium Rare, but this seemed MUCH more on the rare side! Didn't complain as we wanted to enjoy the holiday and not send food back. Boyfriend had the Shrimp pasta special and it was tasty. Desserts were the hit of the night! The White Chocolate Brownie was to DIE for!
We were there for our Christmas Eve dinner and were blown away by the excellent service. The food was very good also. We had some in our party that had the butter steak and mushroom bread pudding and others had chicken Parmesan. Both dishes were delicious. We also had a child’s pizza and they brought her blue cotton candy, for dessert. Fun!!
My wife and I wanted a nice evening out and Ruffinos was that and more. We like to eat early so our reservation was for 5:30 pm and we were greeted promply by the friendly hostess and seated at a table in the large fireplace room which was decorated just enough for the Christmas Season and was told by the manager that "Martha" Ruffin decorated himself and we all laughed as my wife and I thought how much he must care to take an interest right down to the decorations. We placed our drink order while we looked at the menu. Cosmo for my wife and Pinot Noir for me. My wife said her drink was how she likes it(not too sweet). I just asked for their house Pinot Noir and it was excellent as were all three of our servers. My wife ordered the Sensation salad which she said was sensational and I got the Seared Tuna which is the best that's why I always order it when I come here. For our main entrees, I had Fish Katie which came with roasted potatoes which was excellent and I highly recommend. My wife ordered the fish of the day cooked in lemon butter which was topped with a generous portion of lump crabmeat and came with Broccolini which my wife said was absolutely delicious. Of course, we always have to have dessert even though we were too full to eat it so we had it to go cheesecake and chocolate cake which we enjoyed much later. My wife loves the surprise cotton candy they bring at the end of your meal which even though we are so full, we manage to make room for this wonderous treat.
