Great staff, good food!
Ehh. Over priced chicken not my thing
Our waiter, Stephen, was amazing - excellent wine and beer recommendations, hilarious conversation and knew what we wanted before we even knew ourselves.
Great pre-fixe selections and value.
We went there on our honeymoon. Would have liked more involved service, but were really happy with the food and experience.
Looks like a Paris bistro.
Ambience, food, service....all excellent.
Would certainly go again.
Had the mushroom soup with white truffle oil.
This was my first time here, but will return again when in town. The food was excellent, and the service refreshingly good!
Excellent food and service. We really liked our waiter - very experienced and personable. Made the evening memorable, as well (said he had worked at the restaurant around 16 years). Forgot that the menu was French plus Asian. Our table ordered a little of both and really liked everything!
Rue 57 was very good. We stopped by for lunch while in NYC. Venue is very nice, wait staff very good. My wife had the french onion soup and beet salad, she enjoyed it very much. I had the burger with truffle fries, a little pricey, but very very good.
I have been to Rue 57 the last two times I have been in NYC - once on a girlfriend trip and once with my family. It was fabulous both times! Great food and great service, but, best of all, we never felt rushed. They really allow you to dine and enjoy. Wonderful!
This is not my first experience with Rue 57, I confess. Whenever I am in New York I eat here. Their Oreo beignets are gorgeous, and their nicoise salad with huge caper berries and thick slices of sesame seared tune is outstanding. Location and ambience are outstanding. The servers have always been a delight, helpful and friendly and this visit was not exception. I brought my 2 ten year old sons and they had steak frites and ate everything. To me, this is a real New York restaurant, and I look forward to the my next dining experience at Rue 57.
Part of the TAO Group, this is a gem restaurant with plenty of great service and high quality food. Everything we had was quite delicious. Although one would think its emphasis is French cuisine, we found the menu to be very eclectic offering even sushi. Lots of flavors served by a very attentive staff. Best of all, Joey the manager helped ensure an outstanding experience.
One of my favorite go-to dinner spots. Great food and wine list that won’t blow your budget. While a little noisy, we were still able to have an intelligent business conversation.
The sushi and food don’t come out at the same time which is a little awkward when the whole table orders different food. Otherwise great overall.
Food is not freshly prepared. 2 minutes after our main course order was placed our dinner appeared.
Too expensive for pre - cooked diner food.
I used to go Rue 57 since 2008. Perfect location, ambiance and service. But today service was awful. Waitress was so bad, rude.
Just when you are concerned that the crowded room, the harried waiters, the crammed together tables would spoil the event, the food arrives and it is quite good. Well prepared, fresh ingredients, nicely seasoned --
Not a place for leisurely dining, but an excellent pre- or post- theater option.
Had the eggs benedict....very out of proportion.....small over heated, rubbery croissant, large slabs of ham, overcooked in some spots, runny, tasteless eggs & the plate was hotter than the meal. It was as if the dish was pre-made and & left in or on a heated platform....very disappointing....the frites were not like the usual french prepared pomme frittes..the service, coffee & ambiance were excellent....
Nice atmosphere and great food and helpful friendly staff! Good bar too!
Waiter messed up our simple order and ignored us after taking our order. Had to flag down bus boy to get more coffee and another waitress to get check. Toilet was also clogged up. Food was ok, nothing special.
Normal NYC prices. Great food with good flavors. I had the potato crusted salmon which was cooked perfectly. Staff was friendly and attentive. Not too noisy in the restaurant, good decor.
Wet nhce place food was great as were the drinks. Sat by the street window, great people watching.
We visited after a Sunday matinee with our two teenage girls. Everyone was able to find something that suited their palette, and the service was fast but not rushed. We'd definitely return on another visit to NYC.
Great Service. Great soup!
All good. Best omelets I've eaten in NYC. Tasty food and a wonderful environment.
Never a disappointment. True brasserie experience, able to order something slightly off menu. Quick turnaround between ordering and when the meals arrive.
Had to wait even though we had reservations and the restaurant wasn't full when we arrived. Felt rushed a little by the staff, and the waiter took my plate before I was finished. The food was delicious, though. I would go back again sometime- hopefully without the same issues.
We went here with two friends for brunch . I will say you cannot go wrong here for brunch or lunch. Great atmosphere and service was excellent.
Brunch -2 *’s for service because we were constantly rushed. Barely sat down and waiter wanted to take our drink order - went on from there, leading up to waiter standing behind my husband as he was putting in his coat, so the table could be cleared. Did not love the eggs Benedict - ok - but would definitely order the French Toast, etc again.
Good quality food in a nice-not-to-noisy enviroment. Average service and very expensive in relative terms, specially beverages.
Very pleasant waiter, food was delicious. However, my Old Fashioned cocktail was less than stellar. I return to this restaurant every time I’m in the city and the food is always consistently good.
I like this restaurant a lot. The only concern/comment is that the tables are close and difficult sitting and getting up.
Great food, amazing amazing dessert but should I have to beg for water... twice ? We felt forgotten. Thankfully our experience was atypical for Rue; one of our favorite spots.
This restaurant has fantastic service.
If you are looking for a casual yet upscale bistro orientation with a diverse menu i.e. from French classics to Sushi and good cocktails, Rue 57 would be an excellent choice. In the heart of Midtown easy to access. In warmer months outdoor dining along 57th offers excellent people-watching. Both a neighborhood gem as well as destination orientation.
While the hostess seated us promptly and the water glasses were filled immediately, the server was not that attentive. Coffee refills was an episode in tracking her down each time we desired fresh coffee.
We also noticed a quality and quantity difference from an identical food order 2 weeks prior. Mildly disappointed in the difference although without the previous experience as a reference, we would have been satisfied.
Friendly staff and reliably good food. Good location.
The perfect place to go on the way to Carnegie Hall. The brunch options were great. I had been here for dinner but brunch was just as good. We're coming back Friday night!
Went here for Saturday morning breakfast/brunch. We were taken to our table right away, food was delicious and we felt like we were in a french brasserie.
The food was good, as usual. Our waiter was extremely busy, (that happens often - perhaps they don't have enough help on Friday evenings). He hovered until we asked for a few minutes, then disappeared. He was somewhat curt, but nothing to really complain about until we asked for the check. I had just realized the time and had a bus to catch so we asked him to hurry with it. In doing so, he made a mistake which we caught (and understood). It was after that that he was somewhat rude. I told him so and he argued with me that he wasn't. I told him he was being rude just arguing with me about it. Anyway, we left him a smaller tip than we would have, to which he let us know he wasn't happy. (My friend didn't want to leave him a tip at all!) He said, in an accusatory manor, that we were sitting there for three hours. I'm not exactly sure how long we did sit there, but wouldn't dispute that. Most waiters, if they feel you're sitting too long, bring the check. We had to ask for it, so why would we think he had a problem with it? My friend was in from London and he certainly put a damper on our evening.
