Lovely service with our large party of 7 that included 3 children. Waiter was very patient and accommodating. Very nice breakfast selections and the children loved the brioche French toast.

Rue 57 is a staple when we have friends from out of town but this times this were just a little off. Ordered steak frites, got skirt steak, ordered fries instead of mashed and got mashed, fried chicken was not crisp like usual. We split the check and each left 20% on the TOTAL because the tipping numbers were deceiving. Our own fault for not thinking through but definitely not a 40% tipping experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Rue 57. It is a lively and popular restaurant with excellent food and service. We were seated in a quiet corner but our waiter was attentive and funny. I had the Dover Sole and my husband had the Filet Mignon. Both were really very good. The sole was simply cooked with lemon and butter which brought out the flavors and let the fish shine. For dessert they had my absolute favorite - profiteroles! Delicious! I would highly recommend trying this restaurant for a really good dinner

Good decent comfort food. Good location. Good ambiance except when full up and it's too noisy. Good choice for pre theater.

At first we were seated at a table near the bar that was much too loud for pleasant conversation. After some gentle insistence we were given a much nicer table in a corner where we could hear each other without shouting. Once we settled into our new table, we enjoyed the service, food, and surroundings. I was surprised to find tasty sushi on the menu along with tempting continental cuisine. Overall a very nice dining experience.

Our waiter was great ! The food was delicious -- but I've never paid so much for a "normal" size sushi role. Perhaps it's the New York price. ???

I would go back when I'm in town again.

We were looking for a nice place for a late breakfast and Rue 57 came recommended by the concierge at our hotel.
The place is charming, and the wait staff were attentive. However, the food seemed quite bland and although presented well enough, did not strike us as memorable. We mostly had omelettes in our group for our breakfast.

Tasty food at moderate prices for the area. Has an authentic French vibe to it. Wait staff is a little brusque, but it was brunch rush-hour, and food did come quickly, so no complaints. Would definitely go there again.

The ambience is great, the food was just OK. I felt the menu was a little outdated. My husband steak came out under cooked and then when the new one came out it was just OK. Very busy, tables are close together. Service was OK.

The food was fine -- not great, but fine. However, the prices charged are really out of whack for the cuisine. Furthermore, it is a raucus place filled with tourists. If not for the cold and the convenience on this particular evening, we would not have ended up at Rue 57.

It's a pretty popolar restaurant if you work in upper part of mid town. Food is average, the lunch menu is pretty affordable and you have a decent variety of dishes. Service is quick and informal. Noise is extremely high

This is the second time I've dined here. It does not disappoint. Some menu items seem to be priced too high, but we stuck with the reasonably priced burgers (plus one shared vegetable side dish,) and all was delicious. (We were especially pleased to receive a basket of the restaurant's excellent bread, since our entrées included hamburger buns. Not sure whether this happened because we ordered the vegetable, or would have been included with only the burgers in our order.)

We came before a concert at Carnegie Hall. We knew the restaurant wee, so nothing was a surprise. The ambience is great. As we had a friend from Paris with us, we wanted to see how he would react. He loved it. For him it was stepping back in time to an earlier Paris ambience. The food was good and the service excellent, but not intrusive. All in all, a perfect place for a pre-Carnegie Hall dinner.

A wonderful bistro in the heart of the tourist district. But don't let that throw you. Rue 57 is the real deal. Great service, wonderful food, and fun atmosphere. It's always worth a visit, even if you are a local. You leave feeling full and happy.

Our brunch experience was not especially pleasurable. The restaurant was extremely busy and noisy. Two of us ordered omelets, which came very quickly, and seemed to have been pre-prepared and sitting out. Toast was barely warm. We got the feeling they were trying to move people in and out very quickly.

We had an 8PM concert at Carnegie Hall and wanted a nearby place that would make this possible and also would allow us to eat no earlier than 6:30 (so not a long dinner). Rue 57 served this purpose admirably. My wife and I each had two appetizers and were reasonably happy. Quite decent bistro food. Being in midtown a bit expensive for what you got, but not crazily so. So a good place for what we wanted. I would not head up there unless I had a concert or another reason to go.

A lively spot in midtown with a bistro menu. The lamb shank and mussels were great, but the brussels sprouts were undercooked so that I could not spear them with fork tines. Good service and quick. Great location.
