The Private Salon at Rue 57 is available for your special event.
View Private Dining DetailsAll food was great, the wine too. Waiter very nice, we have been coming for years
It felt rushed and the room was very dark . The food tasted good and the menu was impressive.
An all time favorite place to eat even in the city. It never disappoints!
Once again, our experiences throughout the week were perfect. Menu choices are interesting and all are well prepared and well served. Rue 57 is a place you can go for a quick drink, a quick bite or a long leisurely meal at almost any time of day. Wonderful!
Our favorite go-to place to eat breakfast in the city! Great Location and the food and service is always terrific!
The French toast with strawberries melts in your mouth! Love the blueberry purée served with the blueberry pancakes! Wonderful breakfast experience, exemplary service!
I’ve been here many times but have never reviewed. First time here for brunch and it was great. Highly recommended for brunch and dinner!
This restaurant is a jewel. Our waiter, Peter, was wonderful. Food was terrific.
Food was excellent but our waitress made all the difference. She provided great suggestions and made our dining a fabulous experience. Would definitely come back.
Always great, and strategic location
This restaurant was a find. It is close to the big convention hotels (e.g., NY Hilton midtown), and in walking distance to the south-facing park hotels. The menu is French brasserie style with amazing pommes frites as well as a selection of sushi items. (I know--unusual combination, but it works). The portions are surprisingly large, and the service is fast once you get seated. You really must have reservations to eat here. Nice ambiance with a buzz. Tables are close but not as close as many in NYC. I had some of the best mussels and pommes frites I've ever had, and the omelettes are wonderful, too. Nuanced salad dressings--light and bright--on the very wide selection of salads.
Amazing staff, great food and surprisingly not expensive. Had the sticky rice app, kobe sliders and Oreo beignets.., AMAZING! Look forward to coming back.
So sad: one of our mainstays can't be any more...
Our server was horrendous. Our champagne didn't even make it to the table till after the first course was eaten - in spite of two requests and in spite of it being Veuve Cliquot, not prosecco...
Our steak au louvre with truffle frites had to be sent back: saignant came bleu, the fries were oily and soggy and smelled of stale oil (NO, it wasn't the truffle oil dear!) Time to refresh the oil in the fryer... Sent those back to the kitchen - no need to replace. Had a glass of Malbec instead which was cloyingly sweet - really?! By dessert, we were 'done'. What happened?! So sad...
We were seated immediately and our server was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We appreciated the variety of menu offerings, and the food was delicious (highly recommend the pasta primavera). Portions could be smaller. Fairly high noise level and tables close together, but we were able to carry on a conversation.
Had an excellent dinner as we usually do. Food was delicious and Matt is a wonderful waiter. We will be back.
Bistro ambiance, attentive service, and really good food at fair prices... plus affordable wine or beer choices... we enjoy Rue 57 a lot ;-)
Great place for a business or friends lunch
We've been to Rue several times and this was the first time I would say the food was not very good and it is very pricey for what it is.
First trip to NYC and booked Rue 57 for lunch on our last day. Great ambiance, excellent service and the food was excellent with a wide variety of choice and tastes. Will definitely return.
Charming dining room which at this time of year was decorated with beautiful large vases of cherry blossoms. Very good food served courteously and efficiently. Warm mushroom salad was delicious. I enjoyed the steak tartare while my husband, the traditional hangar steak with pomme frites. A very delightful evening with a very Parisienne feel to it. But if tastes prevail there is are excellent looking Asian dishes.
Went for a business lunch. Service was friendly and very efficient, and the food was solid, particularly the cobb salad. Would recommend if you're in this part of town, which has few good dining options.
A wonderful experience.
My daughter sang at Carnegie Hall
The last two times I was here food was lackluster. Onion soup tasteless and like warm. Omelet dry. Service is the no light.
Adorable venue, yummy food choices on brunch menu. Perfect for small group get-together!
Good food, good service.
Everything was perfect.
Had the special last night - very delicious red snapper with fennel and tomato salad - excellent. Also have had very good salade nicoise and burgers in the past
Everything was wonderful, especially the service BUT do not order the Wednesday night special short ribs, super dry and not good.
Nice atmosphere, good food. Good choice of Italian food and wines.
Average experience
Food and service were not bad but somewhat underwhelming.
Everything is as it should be. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Service and food were both very good. Waiter was especially helpful and took the time to chat with us.
Always good food good service good vibes. Thank you
I've been eating at this restaurant for years and years, and I love. Try the hamburger it's delicious
Just a very busy place - hectic
We received a nice table by the window and good service. The wait staff was attentive, but almost overly so as we planned to enjoy a slower meal. Food came out quickly and was tasty.
Everything was wonderful!
Rue 57 is consistently pretty good. A good choice in that neighborhood that is speedy for pre-Carnegie Hall or other midtown west activities.
Just like Pershing Square is for the same need near Grand Central, and Trattoria Del Arte is a few blocks a way... New York's answer to fast casual dining.
The food was fine-to-good, the service was great (fast, attentive).
It's just starting to look a little tired. It feels shabby.
But it was just fine for what we needed, and we return regularly for that reason.
