This is a very lovely restaurant in a convenient area for Carnegie Hall, the theater district, and anything midtown west side. I have been numerous times and it is usually very good. This last time though we had a somewhat surly waiter and the timing of the meal left a lot to be desired (one appetizer arriving 10 minutes before the others at the table received theirs, etc.) I'm hoping it's a one night glitch because this is normally a wonderful restaurant.
Very good for midtown West dining. Always head there with clients for good food and quite conversation. Price fixe lunch was a great deal. I had the omelet which was very good. we sat for a bit and no one chased us out. Overall, it is a go to place in my work neighborhood.
Food was mediocre. Ordered the omelet and it had no taste. Very overpriced for what was served.
We try to dine at Rue 57 whenever we are in NYC and this trip was just as wonderful as always. The Steak au Poivre was wonderful and the profiteroles to finish were outstanding!
Everything was very good, although a bit pricey for what was on the plate.
A very pleasant experience for the whole family. We enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent food choices and quality! Highly recommend!
The food was great and so was the atmosphere.
Food was really good. Its a bit pricy... but I just love this place.
Great ambiance, service and decor. Would go again!
Very touristy. Externally, nice ambience. However food standard “industrial” fare - likely pre-prepared, frozen and thawed. You can ask for individual preparation (rare, medium, medium rare, etc) but don’t expect it. Too many really good places in same neighborhood to settle for this
Great food and service. A little pricy, but that’s New York
Our favorite place to go when we come to NY. The atmosphere and energy is vibrant and has a great vibe.
Food was terrible. Soup was salty, vegetables weren’t cooked, but just thrown in from the salad bar. Portions were small compared to price. Will not return.
Great atmosphere and good food, but didn't love the lunch menu options. I would like to come back for dinner.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff who handle the chaos nicely!
Very good service and food quality. Highly recommend for both business and social gatherings.
Love Rue57, but might have gotten gastroenteritis there.
We were looking forward to a quiet , delicious meal. The tables were on top of each other and the noise was unbearably loud.
Could not order a full meal and enjoy it.
So sorry we booked a dinner there.
Food was perfect as usual. Prices are too high but otherwise an excellent experience.
Rue 57 has amazing food. Everything our group ordered was superb. Our service was great - we had a charming waiter. This was a small group of business colleagues, so noise level made discussion a bit difficult, but we managed. We were also seated right next to a wait station, so the sound of silverware and trays hitting the counter was distracting, but not overbearing.
Overall, highly recommend!
Wonderful place and delicious food.
Our service Eugene was superb! Friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Food was spectacular, good ambiance. Will definitely return.
I was over-billed / double-billed yesterday when my guest and I split the bill!!! Huge inconvenience to now have to undo this oversight.
Although my soup was lukewarm, our server took care and took off beverage cost. I had to ask for a spoon twice.
Always love this place! Good food and drinks.
Sergio our server was absolutely incredible!!! The food was great and the atmosphere was even better. It was our first dinner in NYC and I was very pleased.
An absolutely wonderful holiday dinner with my aunt. The martini was mixed to perfection, and the waiter was very nice and welcoming. Very friendly and gave us plenty of time before ordering. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the dessert was delectable. Great holiday atmosphere with festive decorations and good energy with a full dining room.
Amazing. Every detail was catered to. Our waiter “Humberto” was amazing. Food was amazing. We’ve been here several times over the past few years and will return. Top notch service, food and atmosphere. We had our family of 8 for dinner and everything was perfect.
Rue 57 is colorful and so fun. The staff is super friendly and nice which isn’t surprising once you meet Ya, the manager. The food is delicious and the cocktails are good!
Always perfect! One of our favorite places in NYC! Can’t wait to go back.
We have been here many times, and will keep coming back.
Rue 57 has a great variety in their menu, decent fare for lunch. The dining room downstairs was much less chaotic and noisy than upstairs. Service was a bit slow but overall okay. Overall, I enjoyed my meal at Rue 57.
We’ve dined here well over a dozen times over the past 15 years. The service is still very good but the food quality has taken a disappointing turn. Today we all ate breakfast items and our party of four was unanimous in our disappointment. From the horrible burnt coffee, waffles with dark crunchy burnt chunks (brush the waffle iron), to bland omelettes not properly folded or cooked. Time to take a step back and reconsider taking a break and trying other restaurants to give them time to fix the kitchen.
Came with friends for brunch. Food was outstanding, waiter was excellent. Will definitely come again.
Great place to eat close to Central Park and 5th Ave. The food was delicious. My family and I enjoyed everything about the place. The french onion soup was amazing. My son loved the Chicken Parm.
Nice place to go for a neighborhood restaurant. Always good and always busy.
We were 15 minutes late because of holiday gridlock but were seated within 5 minutes and still had time for dessert before the opera!
Over priced. Sushi was okay, nothing great. Jumbo shrimp cocktail included 3 shrimp. Grilled cheese was soggy in butter and inedible.
Service told us we have to give a minimum of 18% tip and that the field “other” is everything over the 24% tip....
The service was very bad and the waiters were rude. The food very bad and there was no relation the prices with the quality. Overestimated and I would no go again
