Love this place!
We always make sure to visit Rue 57 when we visit NYC. Ambiance is authentic bistro and the food is always delicious!
Only suggestion, add Soy milk/Almond milk as an option to your coffee options;)
Matt, our server, was outstanding! We really had no expectations going in, but if we had, they would have been far exceeded. The food was all spectacular. My husband had a burger while my daughter had the fried chicken. The burger was huge and cooked to perfection. The chicken was to die for - and I was raised in the South! Well done. As for my steak frites, I cleaned my plate too! We would highly recommend this to anyone. Their selection is such that anyone in the group will walk away pleased. Don’t let the sushi menu addition fool you; this place knows how to throw down on comfort food. :) The fried oreo dessert was just “icing on the cake!”
Everyone was really unfriendly we didn‘t feel welcome the food was ok the ambiance was very nice like in france.
Our 2nd visit within a few weeks did not disappoint. Excellent service, very good food, nice pre-theater prix fixe menu.... only "complaint" is that it's a little bit crowded and a little bit noisy...... but only a little. We'll definitely be back...
Overall worth the money - great food and atmosphere. Service is not super friendly but I can live with that
Great food and service
Waiter was not friendly. Not that helpful with gluten free options.
We ordered poached eggs and got scrambled. Ordered side of ham, but got bacon instead. Had to ask for the toast, but the toast we wanted, wheat, was not available at 10:30 in morning so served brioche as default. Had to ask for butter. When the right eggs arrived, perfectly done. Would seem to be lack of attention to details.
Si, muy buena la comida y el lugar tiene muy buen ambiente. Desgraciadamente no me toco un buen mesero.
Service was lacking. The waiter had a lot of tables and relied heavily on busboys and food runners.
We had a great experience. Meatloaf is delicious. Very kind attention
If you are in the area-good place for lunch although extremely noisy..Food is generally very good.. service was a little off this time.
Rue 57 remains a very good place to dine. But in this case, I was asked to switch tables ostensibly because I could have a bigger table and more privacy. As it turned out however the new table was next to a table for 16 loudly talking people who made it very difficult for me to hear my lunch partner.
Next time I will be more careful!
We ate both a dinner and lunch at Rue 57 during our week long visit to NYC. The food is wonderful and fairly reasonably priced right off of Central Park. Preparations are huge. Price fix option is an excellent choice. Entrees run the gamut of fish, seafood, beef, chicken and vegetarian. You must order the pomp frittes cooked to perfection. Deserts are also very tasty. Service is prompt and efficient. The ambiance gives you the feeling that you are in France. Don't want French cuisine, well then go for Japanese. Great selections of sushi as an alternative. This is now one of my go to places in NYC at Central Park.
Average restaurant. The food is mediocre, ambiance is dated
We have been there many times. Never disappoints! Close to the hotel, excellent service and is not expensive. We definitely will return.
All around very nice dining experience. Having a corner table added to this, and though the restaurant was noisy and hectic, as we were off to the side, we could stilk talk normally.
I make sure to stop at Rue 57 every time I am in New York. The food and service is top notch. Not to be missed!!!
We were greeted brusquely by the hostess, who told us we'd have to wait a few minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. We were then seated at the worst table in the place, next to the cash register where waiters kept bumping my husband's shoulder as they checked out. It took a while for anyone to come over and take our order. Our food arrived before our drinks, with no apology made. We definitely will not return.
we were 8 which seemed too much for the waitress.
Our grand children were in NYC and it was supposed to be a special breakfast treat. We and they do not live in NYC. We have been to Rue 57 many times and have always been satisfied.
My husband ordered crispy bacon which was soggy and was brought long after his meal and which he had to ask for. My sons meal was cold . Mine was ok but I needed to wait for a fork which meant attracting attention which was difficult. The French toast was not as ordered as I asked for it to be crispy but no attempt was made it looked same pale color as everyone else who ordered it.it was very soggy.
All in all not the standard we have experienced in the past.
Service was really atrocious.
Nice atmosphere and food. Blue ribbon burger was okay but was a little pricey for what it was. Service was excellent and attentive.
I hadn't been there for a couple of decades and was a little worried when my friend suggested it. But the menu is updated and delicious. The services was also excellent. I'm so glad. I needed another place to go to in that neighborhood.
Love love love Rue 57. Aside from dropping by here now and again for their wonderful Brasserie atmosphere (very Parisian!), warm service and delicious food, my partner and I celebrate our anniversary here every year. We always request the same table (the one we first met at), and they happily oblige, with such care and attention. Can't say enough about the lovely folks who work here and run the place!
Went at the end of lunch rush but the food seemed to take forever and everything we ordered was raw. A table sat down after we ordered and they got their apps before we even got our sodas. We seemed to be have just been forgotten. Food was ok. Tuna tartare was really good but the Cobb salad was just ok. Bacon was super over cooked so every bite was hard to chew and the avocado toast was pretty much just a plate of frisée.
One of the best values in NYC=keep it up ! Been there several times over the last 5 years.
I really enjoyed the food at this restaurant! Also great service and ambiance.
Had the french onion soup and duck l'orange. Both were excellent. Service was prompt.
Best food best service love it
Food was delicious and the waiter was extremely attentive and friendly. Was quite loud but was very busy and tables are pretty close together, but we would definitely go again.
First time here, but won’t be the last time. The service was very good. We told them we had a concert at Carnegie Hall and we were out in plenty of time without feeling rushed. The food was prepared as we asked and it was very good. As we are we kept trying to think of Paris brasseries and restaurants it reminded us of. I’m glad we tried someplace new for us. We’ll definitely be back.
Ok Service good meal served super quick if you like that Steak ah olive ok spoiled by Raouls Super overpriced!!
Food was spectacular and our waiter was the business!!!
Great portion sizes, great value.
Food was excellent.
Love to go to Rue57. Great food and really nice ambience. Waiters are also very
accommodating. Love that they have good Sushi for me, and delicious Steak Frites for my husband.
We go there often. Always dependable!
Prompt seating when you have a reservation. Attentive (over-attentive?) services. Soup was luke warm, steak was room temp, but tasty. A little pricey, though. Nice evening.
A fun New York classic brasserie. Great for tourists too.
Solid choice on 6th ave for many years
The food and service was great. I had the three cheese omelette and my husband had the French toast. The food portions were generous. The bellini was the best I have ever tasted that wasn’t frozen.
Brunch before Carnegie Hall. Four of us enjoyed our brunch. Rueben, grilled cheese, eggs Benedict and salad all were nice portions and reasonably priced.
