Service was atrocious, waited 30 minutes for a glass of wine and our food came out extremely late. The table next to us arrived well after we ordered our meals and almost finished their meals before we received ours. Food was good but incredibly disappointed with our service
We had a very enjoyable holiday brunch and we were especially pleased with our waiter, Royce. The service and food were great. As a longtime NYC resident, I would recommend Rue 57 without hesitation.
We had a great breakfast before leaving the city for home.
First time we dined downstairs, excellent environment and great service.
Downstairs much quieter and relaxed
Used to frequent this place years ago when we lived in NYC. Popped in for a bite with our 4 and 6 year old on a recent overnight stay in Manhattan, desperate for a stiff drink and nice meal after several hours of time square hell. We were nervous at first - no kids menu, apple juice served in large adult sized glasses, but the waiter was awesome, patient and courteous, the cocktails just right and the food delicious. The kids devoured their burgers and fries and we had a perfect Caesar salad, flavorful Roquefort burger and a “just ok” Salmon with melted leeks and mushrooms. The atmosphere was loud and bustling but also cozy and laid back on a busy winter Saturday.
Even on a Holiday season Saturday afternoon with noisy children, etc., still a lovely experience. Great place...
Great location and good food that is served quickly. Delicious real food that is served in the warm ambiance of Christmastime! Table service was smooth, but I did not feel rushed.
This lively but pleasant for conversation restaurant was, once again, everything we wanted after a late movie or concert. We each found several items to consider and enjoyed our choices, crusted salmon with leeks and mushrooms and salade nicoise. Our wine choice of Pinot Grigio was a good accompaniment. The effective tserver was much in demand, as his tables were full. The restaurant vibes were good, and we had a great time late Thanksgiving Friday.
Primavera pasta and grilled salmon what a great meal we had again at rue 57. The Service was very good friendly and fast. Nothing to complain. The atmosphare was very welcoming and comfortable. Was our 5th time. Thank you
Server was not attentive once order was taken. We ordered wine by the glass and meals that did not entail additional a la carte items so little attention was paid after this. We did not see the server until it was time to pay the bill.
Absolutely fantastic as always
It was OK but I was expecting better. Maybe it was the thanksgiving days.
Excellent food and service
Meal was okay noise level is loud but menu is good .
We came for a family dinner and the service and more importantly Steven our server was amazing! Definitely recommend especially if you are from out of town and are staying near time square area.
As always the service was prompt with my reservation. The Host was very personable and helpful.. The food was prompt and very well prepared and delicious.
Tuna tartar and avocado toast both wonderful lunch choices.
Late breakfast/early lunch. One of us 6 was an hour late, because of an unexpected delay, yet service was efficient and we weren’t rushed out even though people were waiting. Very classy.
So beautifully decorated for the holidays! The food was great, too!
Excellent pre broadway dinner! Lobster risotto was fabulous. Good options for kids too (ie fried chicken). Fast service and very attentive wait staff.
Everything is delicious - the ambiance is perfect. I love dining here after theatre.
I’ve been to Rue 57 many times with family & friends visiting from out of town. It’s centrally located if you are staying in Midtown and want to be close to Central Park. Their menu has something for everyone and it’s also a family-friendly establishment. A nice selection of cocktails & wine. My most recent visit was not the best experience though because we had a 12:45pm reservation, everyone arrived on time and they made us wait to be seated until 1:15pm. They are always busy but I’ve never been seated that late in the past.
Service is slow at peak times. Tables at waiter stations very noisy. Had to ask for a change. Staff very accommodating and professional.
Passed this place 100 times, overlooking it. So glad we decided to stop in on a rainy morning for breakfast. We will definitely be back! Great ambiance, service, food. Lovely place!
the food is amazing , excellent service.perfect place to meet with friends and family .
Great spot to eat a little later after a performance!
Very festive and energetic room. Waiters are bustling and professional. Cocktails were well-prepared. Three shrimp for $19 in shrimp cocktail is outrageous. Aged steak special with onion rings was delicious and seemed a bargain when shared.
Grabbed drinks w my dad!
Went for a work lunch, and it was not great. Too casual, touristy crowd (likely fron the park), slow service.
Food was wonderful and we will definitely be back!
Took out of town friends
Great spot for Sunday Brunch...Best eggs benedict we have had for some time!!
Great food. Great service.
My wife and I had a great time at Rue 57. The food was delicious, and our waiter, Royce, was exceptionally polite and kind.
Very enjoyable lunch of onion soup and salad
We were glad we made a reservation as a lot of people with no reservation were waiting to be seated when we arrived! We were taken to our table right away and did not wait long before our waitress came by. We took the prix fixe menu - $39 for appetizer, main course and dessert, $49 if you ordered the steak which we did... that is where I was a little bit disappointed as my steak was a bit fatty and not medium as I requested but more on the rare side. Our appetizer on the other hand - tuna tartare - as well as our dessert - crème brûlée - were simply delicious. Still I find Rue 57 a bit pricey for what they offer.
I will go back though and try something else on their menu.
Last Friday night was our first time here but we will be back again! The food was fabulous, with large portions (chicken and salmon), and the service was comfortably spaced out. We had plenty of time to walk to our Broadway show from the restaurant.
Fun, energetic atmosphere. Excellent waitstaff. Delicious food. Tables punishingly close together. I lost half my drink when a diner tried to wedge between our tables to sit down. He then sat uncomfortably close to me for many minutes until he dragged himself away from me on the banquet.
