Excellent experience, as usual!
It was very good, nice atmosphere, very good wine, but the most delicious food was Chicken nodules soup. I am going to remember this soup for the rest of my life. No kidding. That was perfection. Something that your grandma used to make.
Our entire experience was superb in large measure due to our waiter, Josel, at at the red horseshoe banquette booth.
People at next table shrieked so loudly that I had to leave... steak au poivre was tough. Asked for extra sauce and got bechamel instead of peppercorn... wait staff not as attentive as I would have liked. Not as good as usual. Figure on at least 100 dollars a head. Portions generous, though.
I would but not on a weekend evening. My dinner was particularly salty, especially mashed potatoes. I have been here several times, but not on a Saturday evening. Felt a bit rushed and it was a bit noisy.
Good breakfast, nice place, lots of staff. I’d go again, but for the price, the food didn’t knock me over.
It was ok. We had to ask for our complimentary bread despite that every other table had theirs. We were seated right next to order kiosk and I had to move our table a bit so that we’re not in the way.
Great service, food was delicious . I would recommend this Resturant
It's really overpriced for what it is which is a shame b/c I'd do more often for the small bits of food I do like however not at these prices. It's just too much for what they serve even for NYC.
Hair in food. Manager tried to blame us
Excellent drinks, food, and service! The miso glazed sea bass was the incredible.
Food good. Wine is just too expensive!
We were disappointed in that our last visit held such good memories (4 years ago) but the food was not great. Service was good however.
Have frequented this restaurant several times. Our service was unusually very disappointing. Our server seemed more interested in chatting with co workers and the host than ensuring we had water service, drink refills or even the check. Will be back but will ensure we have a different server the next time.
We went for Sunday supper and loved it. Far less noisy than lunch. Great waiter Matthew recommended Chilean sea bass w miso glaze. Best I’ve ever had. Please send me recipe! Also glasses of wine were decent size - hate it when restaurants charge a lot for glass of wine & do a small pour. So DO go to rue 57
Not their best night.
Even though I’m not a local, this is always a place where I know the food, drinks, and conversation are always fantastic. Never disappointed
A good place at reasonable price before and after attending a show at City Center.
I loved this restaurant. The food was delicious and they have a wide variety of dishes for even the most picky eater. Our server was very cordial and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. So much so that he went looking for almond milk for me until he found it! Since I am lactose intolerant. Loved this place and will highly recommended.
A lovely place for brunch. Wonderful Lychee Martini!
Have been here previously, both times for brunch. Food is good and the staff is very attentive. On the downside, how is it possible to make omelettes that dry? And this after specifically asking for runny...
The food was excellent we had scallops we had salmon we had flan for dessert everything was made beautifully and presented very well and we would certainly go back!
Was not able to get a 4pm reservation using open table (had to settle for a 3:30, yet many tables available at 4pm.
Rue 57 trades on its location on a prime midtown corner to lure tourists. I walked by this place for years to and from the train station, and it always looked very inviting. It was a good midway point to meet friends for brunch with its perfect French bistro look, so I decided to take a chance. Perhaps because of the location, Rue doesn't feel the need to make an effort in the kitchen. The food was pretty mediocre. A relatively small burger with (very good) fries was average at best and overpriced. The best thing about Rue was the service, which was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. There are better French bistros with great food that get it right, such as Le Singe Vert on 7th Avenue in Chelsea. My curiosity was satisfied, I guess, but I see no reason to go back.
Great variety of coices
Hard to decide
Very French decor to the dinning room. Definitely a date option but the menus a little on the expensive side. Service was slow and my waitress forgot my drink.
Always wanted to try this place. We weren't tempted by the Japanese side of the menu, but went French with steak frites and a meat loaf, believe it or not, which was excellent. Wonderful tuna tartare and fried artichoke apps. The wines offered on the pre fixe menu were just fine. The spirits list is limited but has good options. The only drawback is that the place is noisy and crowded, detracting from the otherwise nice, subdued lighting atmosphere. But they do know how to get you out for a curtain.
It is pricier than it relays on the website. But the food and service is very nice.
food is great! The ambiance is very warm and cozy. The food arrived quickly but the service was a little slow.
We enjoyed the dover sole which is always simply and excellently prepared here. Also had the Restaurant Week special dinner. It included their meatloaf - this is the only restaurant where I will order it! Had the tuna tartare with avocado and the cheesecake to complete the special dinner. There were several large groups which added to the noise level. As always, a pleasant dinner prior to the concert.
I have eaten here 6 or 7 times. I return for the mussels, which are consistently wonderful. The rest of the menu is also dependable, but the service has declined to the point that it is hard to recommend.
Portions of there entree salads differ every time I eat here. Had the chopped chicken salad and it was served on a small plate. Usually much larger
Perfect as always.
Always good. Very consistent.
Always a great experience! Love this place!
PERFECT! Rue 57 is our go-to whenever we’re in NYC.
Overall wonderful experience. The waiter service was great.
Waiter was great, but for a limited dinner menu, food was overpriced.
fantastic ambiance for our boozy relaxed brunch. perfect service - attentive but didn't rush us, and delivered desert with a special birthday wish for our guest of honor. delicious cocktails. thank you Rue57!
We love Rue 57 when staying in that part of the city, and this time was just as enjoyable as always.
