To be honest Rudy's is one of the favorites. RUDY'S has never disappointed. This night ,service was not great, and the prime rib was the worst I've ever had, after talking with service about how good prime rib was in there opinion I wavered from steak to try the amazing prime rib, again worst experience ever at Rudy's. Expensive aswell which is easy to choke down when service and food are top notch. No words on how terrible this trip was.

Food was absolutely amazing!!! Definitely our new favorite date night choice. Service could have been better, it was a Thursday night and not all that busy and we had to flag our server down for drinks a few times. Other than that absolutely astonishing!

I brought friends from out of town for a nice meal and we certainly had a wonderful experience from the wine being served through our meals. Quality of everything was excellent and the service was very good as well. Even the trainee was helpful. I grew up in Massachusetts and am a bit of a chowder snob and Rudy's is excellent.

Daughter took me here for my birthday and it was great. Perfect service and wonderful ambiance. Food was excellent but next time I will have my prime rib cooked medium well. Their definition of Medium was a little rare for me but tasted great. The complimentary dessert was a wonderful top for the night. 5 stars in downtown Salem.

We celebrated my birthday at Rudy’s last night. Our order was a bit slow in coming out due to a big party in front of us so they offered us an appetizer on the house. Much appreciated. Our meal came & our New York steak was fabulous, the best steak that we have ever had there. Our friends were from out of town and raved about their meal too. Our waitress was so sweet, wish we remembered her name. We will be back!

We had the filet and rib eye. Both were very flavorful steaks, cooked to our expectations (I rarely (pun intended) am able to get mine very rare - “blue”). So, this is a great steakhouse. Although the prices may seem in line with east coast steakhouses, salad/soup and sides are included, not á la-carte. The desserts (blueberry bread pudding and seasonal marionberry cobbler) were tasty. The service was exemplary. Jordan was attentive, but not intrusive, and friendly. She made us feel quite welcome. This was our first time here, as we have just recently moved to the area. We will be back!

We sat out on the patio in the evening for our anniversary. There was some live music playing and that was nice. The food is always tasty at Rudy’s. The clam chowder you can’t go wrong with. It’s so rich and flavorful and way better than any coastal seafood chowder I’ve had. We had the shellfish fettuccine and that was so good!! Surprisingly we managed to have a little wiggle room to enjoy the marionberry cobbler. Our server was delightful and very attentive. The drinks were amazing as well.

Each year we celebrate my wife's birthday at Rudy's (and other occasions, too!). She had filet, I had prime rib. The service was excellent, and every part of the meal and dessert were pretty much perfect. No one over 30 is thrilled to have another birthday, but Rudy's really helps to lessen the blow...

We have had 2 exceptional dining experiences at Rudy’s. We found both meals delicious and consistent. Excellent service and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. We intend to return but as seniors on a budget, we will reserve our visits for special occasions. It’s nice Salem has such a place to enjoy.

Wait staff was generally adequate. Bar tender was great. The worst part was the rib eye which ended up overcooked and had some nasty inedible bits. I have enjoyed Rudy’s a number of times and it has been my goto for a nice meal. I have brought a number of clients and friends there for drinks and dinner. This is the 2nd terrible rib eye in as many visits. A $45 steak should not leave me unimpressed. Won’t happen again.

Husband was pleased with his NY Caesar salad. For $54 I was extremely disappointed in the shellfish fettuccini. For that price I received 2 scallops and 2 shrimp (both very good), a small piece of crab and a sprinkling of the tiniest bay shrimp ever. This meager presentation was served on top of a huge pile of pasta. Definitely not worth the money.

The food, and service were excellent. My husband said he thought it had to be the best steak in Oregon. I had the crab cakes which were delicious! The only negative is that my husband was facing the alley for a view and felt the ambiance lacking. I was facing the other way and it felt great. Maybe ask for a seat not facing the alley.

The wedge salad was excellent- the best in the state as far as I'm concerned! The medallions were good. The potatoes had good flavor, but were a bit on the dry side. I didn't ask, but maybe additional gravey would have been better.
