Food was prepared perfectly. Especially the baseball sirloin was awesome! The server never asked me for a 2nd glass of cider marionberry, and I had to ask the 2nd time for rolls. The server didn't ask us for a to go box on our cake, I had to look for her. We did mentioned that it was our 20th anniversary, maybe a courtesy dessert(?) Or a personal congrats from the manager(?)

I chose Rudy’s because my Tom Cruise look-alike date said if I wanted to go somewhere fancy, to pick the fanciest restaurant. So I did. Rudy’s did not disappoint. Spoiler alert: Neither did my date. Our waitress was very informative when explaining the difference between the Brazilian and Australian lobster (my date was cracking me up with his theories). The soft background music was instrumental versions of some of the best 90’s R&B (listen to I Wanna Know by Joe ten times and you’ll see what I mean). My date was so inspired by the beautiful and serene dining room that he pulled me to my feet for a table side slow dance (we shut the place down). For cocktails, I recommend the Mango Habañero Cadillac Margarita even though it’s so smooth you’ll forget to text your date when you make it home safe. There is parking in the connected garage which is conveniently vacated after closing so you and your date can have a private make out session before parting ways. The portions were big enough that we both had leftovers which we forgot about and left in his car (he found them the next day but luckily for him I had passed on the lobster). We’ll definitely be back and next time, I’m ordering the Australian lobster.

This was our first time here and everything was fantastic. The dinner selections were wide, I had the Halibut special and she had the Salmon, and the food was great. she had excellent selections of red wine to go with her dinner. The staff was friendly and helpful and they followed safety protocols providing us an excellent experience. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to dine here,

Rudy’s is always good. Service, food, all great. Appreciate all the waiters wearing their masks and making our experience safe as possible.

We have heard that Rudy's has great steaks so we decided to go for father's day. We sat outside and the ambience and setting was wonderful. We ordered the brussel sprouts for an appetizer and they were amazing! I could eat those everyday. We were asked if we wanted bread before the meal and were served what looked like packaged rolls?! They were tasty but I would expect something different for the price. We ordered Ribeye and New York strip and both were flavorful but not cooked to our request. We ordered medium rare on both and received a rare Ribeye and a medium New York strip.

The service was average and the waitress friendly, all were wearing masks. I took my steak home and would have expected the server to plate the leftovers for me but she just handed me a box. I assume with Covid they are not doing this.

Had the 8oz Filet Mignon, Medium Rare. Probably one of the best filets I have ever had!!

The vegetarian plate was extremely bland and didn't seem like much effort was put into it. It definitely was not worth the price.

If you are looking for outstanding service, high quality steaks. This is the place to be! I ordered the rib eye and it’s the best I’ve had, thick, tender, soft. Very smooth to cut. I also had the Brussels sprouts instead of asparagus, give it a try and believe me you won’t be disappointed!

I had made a reservation on Wed for dinner on Sat. for my husband and myself. We are both very senior and asked for reassurance that we would be safe and spaced a safe distance fro others. This was the first time we had entered any restaurant and felt confident about Rudy's since we had dined there several times before the Covid 19. We received a phone call before we went for dinner asking if we minded being seated in the bar, and we said we would do that if it was safe.
We were seated just inside the bar at a table for two with a table of three and three feet away, However, many guests walked down the hallway right next to the bar and walked through the bar past us (with out any face coverings. We enjoyed the food and our wait person was very helpful, but we will not return until there is a better way to be seated. We are hoping to stay healthy and were disappointed were we were seated. When we asked that we be moved, we were told that our seating was fine.

We were celebrating our 44th Anniversary and were delighted with the service and meal. We were pleasantly surprised when the server told us the restaurant would comp our Marionberry Cobbler since we were celebrating our anniversary. What a pleasant surprise to complete a wonderful evening.

What a great place to eat. The food is always delicious and staff is friendly.

Prices have steeply increased. Including a 20% gratuity, $170 dinner for two is a lot. Unfortunately, I think they are trying to make up for the mandated guidelines during COVID-19 pandemic. I know we’ve lost some great eateries because of the times so choices will be limited, but at these prices, the quantity of customers will be winnowing away.

We ate on the patio. The food and the service were wonderful, as always. I did not feel that the waitstaff was careful about how things were served. Rather than walking around the table, they often reached across, leaning over the other people at the table. Given our concern for COVID-19, this was off-putting.

Our server was excellent, but it it took fifteen minutes to start our service after we were seated.

We celebrated our anniversary there. We enjoyed every part of it. Our table was ready when we got there. The food and drinks were outstanding! We will be back!

Sunday evening moderate business, spacing of tables was good and it was a beautiful dining room. Our server was very pleasant, little shaky on the specials, but did alright, I would have her as a server again. Timing was a bit uneven, but the dining room was pleasant to pass time in. Top shelf whiskey selection, basic lemon drop was well made. Appetizers- excellent. The prawn cocktail and oyster shooters were fresh and nicely plated. Main dishes was where it was a bit disappointing. Seafood fettuccine was amazing, would recommend. The special rib-eye the meat itself is wonderful, the filet mignon medium rare came to the table medium well, didn't complain, baked potatoes were still 2/3 raw, switched to the mashed, but they were definitely not food safe temperature, and I was so looking forward to the roasted Brussels sprouts, but unfortunately they were WAY over-roasted and overly candied, to the point of blackness and sadly looked like the last scraping of the pan. The bill was $263 pre-tip so it's a special occasion restaurant- to us anyway- I would go again- but would try something different.

We sat outside. Inside was very crowded and we did not feel comfortable with that. The food and service were great but it was very expensive, 3 lamb chops for$54.

Great food with wonderful ambiance we had a wonderful dinner. Both our entries were very good.

Food and service has always surpassed expectations. Food is cooked as asked for, taste is fresh and exceptional.

It was disappointing to hear of a wonderful halibut special only to find out it is $46. The food has always been amazing but the increase in prices will keep us away for quite some time

Rudy’s is back!! The dinner was marvelous. The tables are approximately 6 feet apart and the servers wore masks. Everything else was just like Rudy’s of old. So good!

Love Rudy's always, even at the golf course, so nice to be out of the cage!

With the re-opening, staff is a little rusty on service (or perhaps understaffed). Didn't offer second drink order, clear our plates between courses and were a little slow checking in after main course was served

Outstanding

Wow - can't say enough about this place ! This was my third visit and each one different, yet spectacular in food, drink and service. Tonight, my first night out since early March and a drive from PDX did not disappoint. The Cobb Salad with chicken was exceptional and hearty. The cocktails, especially the Old Fashioned and the Dragon's Breath which comes with a show = beyond craft cocktail definition. Comparing, albeit, downtown Salem, to speakeasy's and cocktail bars in many large cities I have been to. Truly impressed by what Mr. Kunke and his crew have been able to resurrect in this City. We also bought a bunch of top notch Oregon beef to take home as well at the butcher shop across the street. Traveling through or destination stop - high recommended...

Superior service; superior steaks!

I had requested with my reservation if something special could be on our table because it was mine and my husband's first wedding anniversary. Although the restaurant had confirmed they received the note, when we arrived, there was nothing done to our table and nobody mentioned it to us at all during our visit. The food was good and the waitress was kind and friendly, but I just wish that if they weren't planning on accommodating my request, someone would have told me in an email or told me when I'd called to confirm our reservation an hour before we came.

The customer service and atmosphere were great. The food on the other hand was not that great. I’m embarrassed to even compare it to Sizzler. It just wasn’t great. I ordered a filet which was tough and my husband had a rib eye which was mostly fat. Usually with rib eyes, the fat is nicely rendered, but with this cut, it was so mostly fat there was rendering this!!

We so enjoyed our dining experience. Rudy’s provided a safe, socially distanced environment. The food was fabulous. Our party enjoyed ribeye steak, bronzed halibut, and prime rib. Rudy’s brought us a berry cobbler in celebration of our anniversary. Service was great!

We absolutely loved our dinner at Rudy’s. I got the salmon and my partner got the steak. The food was perfect, the staff and service commendable. We had a lovely time there. Thank you Rudy’s for being in Salem.
