Rahel took great care of us. She was very knowledgeable about the menu items and answered all our questions. She made some recommendations that were very helpful.
We had a wonderful dinner; enjoyed every course.
Great service and amazing food!
Good service, petite food, large crowd at lunch, do believe the hype. Thanks for birthday ice creams. Dean
The food was amazing and our waiter Damon was awesome! I am in love with the meatballs and will be making it a point to head to RPM on my next visits to DC!
Great service. Good flavors on all good. Only minor item to note is that pasta dishes are smaller portions. Gin drinks are very well executed.
What a fantastic dinner and venue! Our server, Anton, also helped fo make it a wonderful evening!
Quick, Delicious, and accommodating of large parties! We will definitely be back!
Celebrated my 50th Birthday there. Had a great meal. Will definitely return.
It was a great experience. Not only the food but the staff.
By far one of the best experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. Our server Tyler WAS OUTSTANDING! First Class all the way!
Awesome food and service we got the lobster ravioli and bone in short rib they were excellent:-)
I celebrated my 16th wedding anniversary at RPM and was truly impressed with the service and food.
Amazing food and amazing service! 5 star!
Great food. Server was a bit slow, didn’t check on us.
I have been looking forward to RPM Italian for quite some time. Walking in I was immediately impressed by the ambiance and decor. To the right is the bar where I wish I spent more time just to experience it. For my friend and I we had a booth that could sit up to 4 or 5 comfortably. I enjoyed the view of the restaurant. The staff was excellent, particularly Marco. I have been looking forward to Italian food ever since I left Italy. I challenged their authenticity with the gelato because that is something only Italy could perfect. The gelato was smoother and you can tell it was made from an incredible machine - apparently RPM has one of six machines imported to the US from Italy. I think Dolcezza beats them as far as taking me back to my Italy days. I enjoyed a seafood pasta with seafood flown in from other parts of the US. The wine is better than the wine you'll find at a Safeway, or so Marco says. I'm more of a gin and tonics gal and believe cocktails are an art. The presentation was impressive and so was the taste. It was a nice evening because it was quiet. I'm not sure how loud RPM typically gets, but we were there late on a Thursday evening. It's a place you take someone to dazzle them for sure.
The food and service was awesome!!!!
It was quite busy even on a Wednesday evening. Therefore the noise level was quite high. The ambience was nice but the seating was not ideal for couples. The better tables were for bigger groups.
The food was pricey but really good and came out really quickly. The rose wine we had was great! One of the best rose wine I had personally (but I’m also not an expert!). I definitely recommend this place for special occasions due to the high price.
The service was great as well! Our waitress paid a lot of attention even though she had a few tables with lots of people.
I just wished it wasn’t so noisy in there.
RPM is my favorite restaurant, but this night they fell short. Ordered the salmon, which was ehhh to say the least. But that is not the reason for this two star review. The bartender, who I’ve never seen before, didn’t know anything about the menu. The mushroom risotto was taken off then menu so i asked him what was similar or suggestions on what i could get instead and he said he didn’t know. REALLY??????? What type of service is that? I was taken aback and really put a damper in my dining experience.
My husband and I chose this restaurant for a date night based on the great reviews it received. We both love Italian and were excited to try something new. Sadly, we were disappointed in just about every aspect of our experience. To start, even though we made a reservation and a number of tables were open upon our arrival, we had to wait around 10 minutes to be seated, while other people who walked in off the street without reservations were seated before us. Again, even though many tables were open, we were seated right next to a large, loud party, which made it difficult for us to chat with each other. No one discussed the menu with us, so we were unaware that the restaurant is (apparently?) supposed to be tapas/sharing style. This created problems when our server took my husband's order, then walked away without taking mine. He received his food before I even had a chance to order mine. (We later learned our server assumed the food my husband ordered we were going to share as an appetizer. She did apologize for the miscommunication). My husband said his food was good -- nothing great, though. Mine was just okay. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
The food is really good, I come here every time I come to DC!
Our waiter James was amazing!
I’m not happy that they do not accommodate kids. When you see a family with a child who has reservations, why make them wait extra amount of time to eat .
I’m totally not happy that valet parking damage my rear bumper. I recommend going somewhere else.
Reservation was at 8:30 and they sat us at 9:15.
overpriced for what you get. Small portions for mediocre food. You can get a similar dish for half the price somewhere else. I was disappointed once I saw how tiny the portions were. Moreover, the food itself wasn't anything exciting. It was just meh. Service was fine.
I came here to celebrate my birthday, and was completely blown away. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The food is so scrumptious, I could have had ten plates of it, and the staff is so accommodating and helpful. The atmosphere is very chic and sleek, so you feel very classy while you dine. I loved everything about my experience here, and can't wait to return.
We keep coming back for the Carbonara -- one of the best in the city. However, the drinks are overpriced and the hostess staff less than friendly and accomodating.
RPM Italian is a phenomenal restaurant that never disappoints! Our waiter was the one and only HAYWARD, and he was attentive, knowledgeable, kind-hearted and non-obtrusive. He helped us in ways that cannot be measured. For example, our reservation was at a time when RPM had just opened so it was very cold in the restaurant. My mother is in a wheelchair and both she and my five year old granddaughter were freezing. Hayward made a shawl out of napkins for my granddaughter and brought a hot glass of water for my Mom to warm herself. We didn't ask for those things; he just did it to be sure we were comfortable. He went through the menu with us, made excellent suggestions, and had a command of all the ingredients. I even tried to mention something I'd had at RPM a year ago and he instantly knew what it was and explained it was seasonal and not available right now. And when it was time to go, he walked us to the door and held it so that my Mom could be wheeled out. My entire birthday experience at RPM was truly fabulous and a large part of that wonderful evening was because of the excellent food, the ambiance, and the laudable service from Hayward -- he is proof that being a waiter can be elevated to an ART Form. Thank you, Hayward and RPM Italian. Thank You!!!!!
This place is the best coming with your best on and enjoy some great food!!!
Always have a great meal here. Pasta is homemade and DELICIOUS. Service is always outstanding as well. My only "thing" is that you have to speak with a raised voice to have conversations during dinner. Lunch is good for business lunches.
RPM restaurant is an extraordinary place. The food is pretty good and its waitresses are professional. The restaurant’s team cares each detail of the service. Ours dinner’s experience was wonderful.
Great special dining experience. Our server, Najee, was wonderful. Professional, knowledgable and patient. We wanted a slow paced dining experience and he never rushed us. He took great care in explaining the menu, specials and answering our questions on the menu, cocktails and wines. The homemade pasta was wonderful and the veal chop was among the best i've ever had. His dessert recommendation was on point -- delicious. He also took great care to accommodate my husbands food allergy to nuts. From start to finish, it was fine dining at its best.
The last two times I’ve gotten the gelato it’s been extremely melted and extremely small.
I took my team here for business and we had a wonderful meal. Marco was fantastic and his recommendations were on point. They had a great wine list, though my group opted for the hand crafted cocktails, which were a delight all around. Everyone wiped their plates clean even though we had appetizers and left room for dessert. The atmosphere was perfect for us.
My wife and I LOVE RPM!! We have been to the RPM in Chicago twice and just went for the first time to the one in DC and it did not disappoint. Nothing but AMAZING!
While RPM has always been a top experience for us, tonight set a precedence for all future visits. Our server, Najee, made the evening, our first wedding anniversary, a night we won’t forget. From helping us make decisions on our courses to ensuring our wine selections were properly paired with our courses, we could not have asked for a better guide. Najee is knowledgeable but is also willing to listen to and understand personal preferences. After learning about our passion for restaurants he secured an opportunity for us to have a tour, led by management of the kitchen. This was followed by us selecting a dessert to celebrate over and Najee providing us 2 additional desserts that we had been contemplating, on the house. Additionally, knowing my affinity for wine pairings, Najee gave me a sample of a dessert wine to ensure I had a pairing for that course as well. We would go back, without question, though we knew that from previous experiences at RPM. The difference now - it is unlikely that we will return without ensuring Najee is there to be part of the experience for us! Thanks again for making our anniversary an evening we will never forget!
Outstanding service. The staff is obviously highly trained.
If you go, request a booth along the wall because sitting in the middle of the restaurant you are back to back with another table. This took away from my experience because my head practically touched the person at the table behind me and I could hear all their conversation.
Our server Marco was excellent. Whole experience was great. Spent two hours there . Food came out not too fast and we weren’t waiting for it. Whole evening had a nice flow. Food was very good
Great ambiance, delicious food, and a very personable, talented, and knowledgeable staff. It was our first visit, but it won’t be our last!
Great food! Great service!
