Roy's - Kaanapali
Awesome service food was amazing
Dinner tonight was amazing. The service, atmosphere and service where out of this world. It was me seriously the best last night in Maui.
Right location, right kind of food, friendly service, what more could you want?
Best meal in Maui and great service
Everything was great except the food. Short ribs were tasteless. Fish was very fishy tasting, for lack of a better word.
Don’t ever stop the miso butter fish. Love to see a small filet and scallops combo.
We love Roy’s. It is consistently amazing so whenever we are in Hawaii we go. The pineapple martini was the perfect island drink and we ordered 4 dishes from the pupu side of the menu and it was the perfect amount of food for two people to share. Thanks Roy!!
I’ve dine here several times but this time I’ve noticed all prices went up. Too expensive for the size of servings. I’m disappointed
This was such a good spot! Our server made everything sound delicious and it actually was. I’m definitely coming back next time I’m in Maui for the butterfish! YUM.
Nice atmosphere, enjoyed appetizers and drinks, plenty of food for two, but a little pricey.
Wonderful evening celebrating 2 special occasions. All food was excellent, service impeccable, and desert topped all.
Roy’s has a major “gift card problem” that is placing return customers in a very bad situation. All the Roy’s restaurants that are in Hawaii are now a separate business from those on the mainland - yet it is the Mainland Roy’s business that maintain a mailing list and mail out Roy’s discount coupons. The gift cards sold at a Roy’s on the mainland and the discount coupons mailed by Roy’s business back on the mainland are NOT VALID in Roy’s in Hawaii - even though the cards and coupons don’t tell you this. We mostly dine at Roy’s when we are in Hawaii - yet receive coupons supposedly good at any and all Roy’s location. This places the customer in a predicament when dining at a Roy’s in Hawaii. Booooo on you Roy’s! Get your business straightened out! Food, ambiance & service where still very good.
Great service but food is just ok. No wow factor.
Food is overpriced. Was expecting to have mind blown. Disappointing.
We had a wonderful family meal. Service was superb and food was delicious!
Our waiter was very good but the service from the bar was very slow. Took is a very long time to get drinks once they were ordered. The restraunt was not that busy at 6pm. We would of had more cocktails but as it was we were finished with our meal about the time we got our second one. Each time it took about 20 minutes or more to get our drinks!
Everything was awesome. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Wonderful experience.
Overall it was a good restaurant close to the Marriott Maui Ocean Club. I expected to be a bit more wowed by the food for the price but would try it again.
Great dinner with great seafood and steak. Also the deserts are a 10!
Great food and service. A must have dinner place when in Maui!
We loved the butterfish and the seared ahi! Orion was fabulous!
The service was amazing and was the food. Everything we ate was delicious. The molten lava cakes are a special favorite of almost everyone in our family. We look forward to eating here every year we are on the island.
Our annual anniversary dinner. Great place to celebrate and enjoy great food. Service has always been great too. A must place for the best misoyaki butterfish!
We go to Roy's at least once when visiting Maui. Service is always great. Food we ordered is normally great although this time Short Rib was bit on the dried side. Other than that, we enjoyed out meal very much.
Great food and service. Appreciated the attention to detail with our gluten free meal as well.
First, let me say that the food here is excellent. Expensive, but most of the fine dining options on the island are. When we arrived at the restaurant and gave the young hostess our name and reservation time, she replied that there were 2 groups ahead of us. I thought that was an unusual reply; instead of the usual thank you for reserving with us, we’ll seat you as soon as possible. The 2 groups ahead of us were seated quickly which made us happy as we we very hungry given the time change after flying in from Connecticut earlier that day. A few minutes later another group arrived and after waiting for about a minute, they were promptly seated. I was not happy, but given how quickly the other 3 groups were seated, I figured our wait would not be much longer. After a few more minutes passed, I asked the hostess how long our wait would be. She said she had no idea. Then, when I inquired about the group that was seated before us, she refused to answer my questions regarding their reservation status. Hungry, I pointed to one of the open tables and asked to be seated there. Instead, we were seated a a less desirable table for some unknown reason. The assistant manager came over to the table and apologized for us being seated late. I told her it was not the length of the wait, but how it occurred that bothered us. She said she would inquire. 5 minutes later, she came back to the table, said she reviewed the surveillance tapes and called me a liar. I was very upset and told her that I didn’t lie and that she should take a second look. At the end of our meal, she came over to apologize for upsetting me and offered to comp our entire meal. Well, she wound up totally botching the apology and in the process called me a liar for the second time. We refused her comp offer and paid our check with a good tip as the waiter did a fine job. Extremely poor customer service from start to finish. I will go back to Roy’s, but never to this particular location.
Good food, but way overpriced. Honestly the food was worth about half of what we paid.
Loved the mixture of flavors of our fish, the meatloaf and, dare I admit, the molten lava chocolate cake. Tremendous service. Great view onto the golf course at Kaanapali.
Everything about the dinner was fabulous. The food, the service, the view, the quality, all of it. It’s expensive, but worth every penny. Highly recommend.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had.
This place is a classic for fresh seafood, when in Maui this is a must.
This has been our favorite restaurant on Maui since we discovered it on our honeymoon 20 years ago. Our recent visit was to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Roy’s continues to provide a beautiful ambiance with phenomenal service. The food is both creative and delicious. They also provided us with a sweet anniversary card and beautiful anniversary decor on the dessert
Everything was top notch
Our waitress gave us excellent advice and the was to die for!
Our first visit. The service was honest, offer good recommendation in entree, service was excellent! Salad, crab cake, short ribs, fish, lava cake and pineapple upside down cake were all well made. the lychee Sangria was very delicious on the sweet side.
Food was spectacular. Super fresh fish expertly prepared. A bit on the pricey side. Service was slow when the restaurant was full. Not perfect, but will definitely return.
Excellent cuisine coupled with exceptional presentation.
And the service was as Greta’s the food.
Our breakfast was delicious, especially the French toast made with Hawaiian sweet bread! Also, the waitstaff was very welcoming and friendly!
Overlooked steak twice - location has moved to a run down old golf course restaurant. No view. Food was average at best; way overpriced, there are a 100 better options on Maui other than this.
Our favorite restaurant ever and it didn’t disappoint! Great service, great food!
Seated on time water delivered to the table upon seating very good food and service
