Roy’s is simply the best. We introduced our kids to Roy’s in Kaanapali and all agreed it is the best meal we have ever had. We had Ahi, Butterfish, Shrimp Pasta and Fried Chicken all topped off with the irresistible chocolate soufflé. Wow! And the service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. If you have the chance to dine at Roy’s, don’t miss out!!
The Frying Dragon Roll was so delicious and the Macadamia Nut encrusted Au was amazing!
The food was outstanding and so was the service! We would certainly go back!
we enjoyed our 10th anniversary dinner at Roy's. We had the BLT salad, enough to share, she had the butterfish and I had the ribeye. Both were very good. We had all three desserts!..pinapple ups side down cake, very good, the famous chocolate souffe and the pan terra ( I think).....the first two are really good,
Service by Johnny was great, very attentive and pleasesant
Wonderful anniversary!! Everyone and everything was perfect!
Amazing food! The food speaks for itself. The service was also spectacular!!!! Please go! It’s amazing and worth it!
Usually we love Roys. We made a reservation weeks in advance at 8:00 and was not told they close at 8:00. I felt like we were rushed and pushed to the side. Service was fair and the food was ok. For the price it was not worth it.
Nice lunch with family on vacation!! The service is great
Amazing! We loved all the food and our waiter Junior was so kind
Our server was fantastic, I think his name was Mark. The food was delicious.
Overall everything was very good and the happy hour is definitely worth it!
Food was excellent! Service was excellent! The host was a tad rude when we asked to sit at another table because they had us originally sitting in a corner with our backs to the entire restaurant. I mean who wants to sit looking at a wall? So we were then seated at a wonderful table with a nice view.
Other than that, the experience was wonderful! Food was amazing!
I have been going to Roy’s since the original location. The food quality has always been delicious, as well as the service. A delicious, delightful experience.
This is not a good place to eat if you have food allergies. My wife and I went here and she has dairy, gluten, and egg allergies. Not many options for her on the menu. Very disappointing given today’s environment and the price of the food.
Great service and excellent food. Would definitely return next time in Maui.
Love it. Great food.
We love Roy’s and always go if there is one close to our hotel. Enjoyed our dinner there. Good food and service as always.
The service was outstanding as was the butterfish, filet and choc soufflé. We were disappointed with the salmon (overcooked).
The food was good but the decor of the restaurant really needs improvement. It’s very dated and for the price of the food, they really need to improve the ambiance. The blinds were broken so they couldn’t open it up to let the guests enjoy the views. It wasn’t very busy which in interesting because all the other restaurants were packed with an hour wait. They could use some more signage to let people know they are there.
Wasn’t terribly busy around the time we went (but probably because of COVID restrictions still in effect). Wasn’t at all noisy, great service, and fantastic food!
I dined alone for lunch. I was greeted promptly and it took a little bit to place my order. There was hardly anyone in The restaurant. My food came and was good. My server checked back once. I ran out of wine and water and waited approx 20 minutes before anyone came back so I could ask for more. Another server cashed me out and didn’t even look me in the eye, he was looking at his other table perhaps? The servers were overly professional for a golf club restaurant..There is no “ohana” here. Food was fine, service was impersonal.
Ambience lacking; interior felt tired, old, out of date. Food quality not up to Roy’s typical high standard. Brussels sprouts tasted old, no spark. Egg roll sauce dull. Shrimp pasta over cooked, macadamia crusted fish good. Cook times slow. Tables sat unbused.
Overall experience below expectation.
Roy’s never disappoints and is always delicious! Excellent cocktails too.
It was overall good, but the foods were a bit too salty.
Roy's was the very first indoor restaurant we've eaten at since the start of the pandemic. The tables were spread apart very well, seems to be farther than 6' and we felt very comfortable and safe. All staff was wearing their masks. We ordered the Seared Ahi appetizer, Cesar salad, BLT salad, Whole Fried Snapper, the Seafood Risotto and of course the Chocolate Souffle. Everything was delicious and very on point. The fried snapper looked huge but if you're planning on sharing it, I would make sure to order another entree to share.
Due to the pandemic and spacing of tables, you need to make reservations well ahead like most restaurants in Maui (4 weeks) but if you're lucky enough to get reservations keep them and enjoy. We were also happy to be able to order food to go during our vacation to enjoy at our resort. Roy's is always our go to restaurant and we are never disappointed.
We appreciate how welcoming they are to kids too and love that they immediately bring out veggies & dip then quesadilla for our daughter, sometimes even before we order her meal.
Great service, great food, but they did not honor gift cards from Roy’s on the mainland.
We were very disappointed with our experience. The restaurant looks run down and outdated. I’ve been to Roy’s in the Dallas area and it was a new building with beautiful ambiance and decor. In Hawaii they still have limited seating and menus. Our choices were very minimal. The food was ok, not fantastic, which is what we were expecting. The service was extremely slow even at 50% occupancy. If I had known about the limited menu, I would have not made reservations there.
Misoyaki was rrally good
Always fantastic. We were seated immediately. Super accommodating hostess, we had one extra person, she adjusted our reservation and made it work. Greatly appreciated.
Their calamari and ahi appetizers were delicious. We had rib eye, short ribs, and the ckn - everyone enjoyed their meals. Ended the dinner with their pineapple upside down cake. Yum.
After a long day on the beach, it was the perfect setting.
It just so happened we were at Roy's for National Mai Tai day. Very strong and delicious. The food was outstanding, 10/10 would recommend. Wait staff were awesome
Great food and service. One of our favorite restaurants in Maui.
My husband and I ate dinner here during the 2nd to last week of June. There wasn't enough servers for the amount of people that were in the restaurant. So unfortunately the service wasn't great BUT its understandable. The food quality in our opinion has gone down.
Didn’t have some of the staples we’ve gotten in the past due to current market prices. Overall a good meal, but didn’t leave us going wow like it did in prior visits.
We had excellent service. We sat at a table in the corner window with a spectacular view of the sunset and then resort view lights. The calamari app was tender and delicious. We all loved our mixed seafood meals (pasta, risotto, Steamed Mahi udon) The pineapple upside down cake was fantastic- make sure you order ahead of time. They even did something nice for our anniversary! Roy’s is always consistently wonderful!
First the good- food is well prepared, views of golf course are beautiful and service was great. You can’t have a bad meal at Roy’s.
Room for improvement- Roy’s decor hasn’t changed in quite a few years and is looking a bit tired. Time for a remodel for sure! Second- the prices have skyrocketed. Paying $63 for mahi-mahi is crazy. It seems Roy’s is trying to make up for Pandemic losses with these prices.
Overall, great evening, but hoping for better ambience and value next time we visit.
Always an amazing dinner
