Roy's - Kaanapali
Our party ordered both meat and fish entrees and all were exceptional. The service was excellent, and not just our server but the busboy as well.
We have been coming to several different locations for 25 years. The food was great, but with an $80 steak, my husband didn't have what he wanted to. 3 years ago on the Big Island was the last time we had dinner at Roy's.
Greeted warmly and service throughout the meal extremely attentive.
Birthday celebration. Our waiter Dennis was very attentive. Service and food were great
The Brussel sprout cauliflower was amazing. We shared the canoe boat appetizer among four and was a good sampling but would like more of the Hawaiian rib butter fish highly recommended.
Best anniversary dinner we have had. The staff was wonderful and even signed a card for us and made a special dessert. The food was great as well as the service. We will definitely be returning
The wait staff and food were excellent, as always. Views are challenging before sunset, as they have to pull the blinds so you aren't blinded. It gets warm near the windows, but once the sun goes behind the hotels, it's nice. Hopefully, at some point in the future, they can get a better location.
The baseball cap "after golf crowd" screaming at the televisions at the bar, just a few feet away, is what I would expect from a burger hut. Not a restaurant like Roy's. That needs to be addressed.
Whenever we travel, and there is a Roy's, we go. Love the food.
Food was delicious. Very fresh fish cooked perfectly.
Fabulous service & ambiance. The only blemish was in the over-cooking of the Monchong butterfish. That falls on the kitchen & not the dining room staff who should be commended for a job well done
A request from the bar was made for “Koloa Spice Rum,” which was not available. Interesting since it is made locally while the available Rum “Capt Morgan’s) is imported from 3000 miles away.
Roy’a Is one of the best restaurants in both the islands and the mainland.
The quality of the food, service and ambiance is always terrific.
Awesome dinner! Staff were very attentive and willing to make suggestions about what to order- all excellent
Arriving on island after a long travel day, I reserved Roy’s as a good standby that usually provided a good quality meal. It was also very convenient to our accommodations. Well, if I were to review Roy’s in one sentence, I’d have to say good drinks with okay service and average food with everything drowned in sauces and terribly overpriced. We had potstickers, a sushi roll and I asked for the “blackened” ahi not blackened, just seared rare with soy and wasabi on the side. The roll was okay, the potstickers smothered in some kind of sauce and the ahi was lovely BUT again smothered in mystery sauce. And multiple times we got the hard sell on the molten chocolate desert. Compared to the Roy’s in Las Vegas and So Cal, this one is just not what we expected. C’est la vie
Our waitress, Jenna, was outstanding. She had the answers to all our questions concerning the food & particular wine for that food group. Most of all, she was very pleasant to be around. She was this way with the large group next to us too. Remarkable person for a moderate to high end restaurant.
Disappointing. Server took more than 15 minutes to greet us and take our drink order after we were seated. Seemed put out when I didn’t order an alcoholic drink. White fish was over cooked, salad was drowning in dressing, soup was served lukewarm. Server did not check back on us after our food was served. Have been several times to this Roy’s; will likely not come back.
Amazing food!! Have to get the canoe appetizer! Very close to the kaanapali hotels and we even were able to walk over to Whaler’s Village after dinner to explore.
Waitress and waiter was great! My family had a great experience. It was our anniversary and we received a card and a desserts that was unexpected.
Susan and Ken
The food was delicious the only problem was that the service was a little slow but the waiter gave really good suggestions.
Breakfast is excellent. Great view. Potion size is large. Would be nice to have larger coffee mugs
The food was delicious and our server was so helpful! My wife and I were on our honeymoon and they gave us an appetizer on them. It was a great atmosphere and a really great meal!
Had a wonderful dining experience for our 39th wedding anniversary.. Calvin C. Was amazing! Went over and above to make our evening at Roy’s extra special... a complimentary pupu, a beautiful Anniversary dessert and very knowledgeable about all of the menu items. Our meal was excellent, service fantastic... a Five Star dining experience!
Food is flavorful and rich. A culinary experience I highly recommend
Mahi mahi was dry
Felt parmesan crusted white fish was pretty mediocre and could have been purchased anywhere else for 1/2 the price... caesar salad was good and filling luckily.... as fish was bland...
All in all dinner was ok but not worth the price
Excellent ambiance, great view. Service was impeccable. Food was delicious. Table seating was extremely comfortable. The appetizers were the perfect size to share. Portions were large and could feed two people. Soup of the day, cream of asparagus was delicious.
Better than the norm in Maui.
The seafood combo dinner was mediocre. The lobster was very salty, the fish was over cooked, and the lobster risotto was oily and soupy. Disappointing
I felt staff were somehow looking down Asian customers
Roy's has always served consistently good food. Tonight's dinner was no exception. Our server, Jenna, was delightful and made our experience very pleasurable.
Food & service was excellent.
Our waiter Daniel was very pleasant & personable, can’t wait to come visit again
Butterfish was incredible!
Roy’s was awesome as it is every time we visit one!
Awesome service food was amazing
Great food, kids menu was especially great for our kids, and good value. Service was excellent.
Dinner tonight was amazing. The service, atmosphere and service where out of this world. It was me seriously the best last night in Maui.
Right location, right kind of food, friendly service, what more could you want?
Best meal in Maui and great service
Everything was great except the food. Short ribs were tasteless. Fish was very fishy tasting, for lack of a better word.
Don’t ever stop the miso butter fish. Love to see a small filet and scallops combo.
We love Roy’s. It is consistently amazing so whenever we are in Hawaii we go. The pineapple martini was the perfect island drink and we ordered 4 dishes from the pupu side of the menu and it was the perfect amount of food for two people to share. Thanks Roy!!
