Roy's - Kaanapali
My favorite restaurant in the world. The buterfish is pphenomenal.
Great food and wine
It ain't cheap, but you probably already know that.
The good: Lovely golf course view, great fresh fish, very decent service, typical Roy's food presentation which is just lovely at all his locations we have been to.
Not as good: weak mai tais, a little feeling of being processed, for whatever reason they made us wait 15 minutes when the house was virtually empty.
We wouldn't come to West Maui and not eat there at least once. As it goes around here, money well spent.
We had not eaten at Roys on Maui in close to 25 years.....it brought back many dining memories. My wife yearned for the butterfish & I thoroughly enjoyed the seafood medley.
All in all it was a wonerful evening.
JR & Judy Wright
Great lunch. Good prices.
Food was great. Cathy our wait person was excellent.
Beat veggie omelette I have ever had.
Food made us happy
Roy's never disappoints. Fantastic food & the staff is very attentive. Another lovely Anniversary spent with them. Thank you Roy's💜
The team at Roy’s really does a great job of making you feel welcome and valued. The food was outstanding and they have a lively bar scene with relaxing views of the golf course. Laidback aloha spirit lets you enjoy the food, beverages and company. Best loco moco on Maui.
Returned to Roy’s Kaanapali after a couple years. Had dinner at the Bar. Beer was very cold. We had two servers, each had their own attentiveness to our meal and drink needs. But the food was typical Roy’s freshness, unique presentation and delicious.
Great food, good service and zero atmosphere.
Excellent food and ambiance! Service was impeccable!
We are vegetarian and love the lunch menu and the services. But we are disappointed with vegetarian dinner menu. It will great if it has more choices for vegetarian. The dinner service was good and efficient.
The desert was good. It is a little noisy but durable.
Our family dinner of our last evening in maui for thanksgiving
The service was amazing, especially during the Thanksgiving holiday!
We went for our anniversary and they didn’t even acknowledge it....I had to remind them. Our server barely spoke to us. Food was blah. Very disappointing. We ate here 10 years and 6 years ago and had a wonderful experience, but this time was a bust!
Food was very poor . Save yourself the investment and stop at McDonalds . Ahi appetizer was good but that’s where the meal should have ended . Entrees were c+ at best . Place was filled with loud kids . We have our own kids and are use to noise but this place sounded like the inside of a bowling alley . On a good note our waitress was sweet
Trust me. I’m not a food snob but drive past this place
Went here for our anniversary., Reputation was good so we tried it. Was quite expensive but
the food was excellent and we were not disappointed. Waiter could have been better but the
helpers were attentive with water and clearing. Worth giving it a try
Food was good. Awkward seating for two...in the middle of the room...dessert was a choc cake...it came with a strawberry sauce...that is not mentioned when ordering...I don’t like strawberry’s!...had to avoid the sauce....
Great food but old world feel - a little stuffy.
Excellent as ever. Mahi Mahi, short rib, dragon sushi, potato leek soup were all fresh and flavorful. The chocolate soufflé is just delicious. Service is so competent. A great meal and experience.
Server forgot our appetizer. He Didn’t seem to care when I mentioned it. The drink he was pushing didn’t work for us and also he didn’t seem to care.
Food was amazing. Excellent service. We had to come here twice during our trip! The soufflé and the upside-down cake are both not to be missed! Great spot for a romantic dinner.
Had a problem with an undercooked filet, but the issue was completely dealt with, server Brandon was excellent, and the manager came to our table to be sure we were satisfied. The filet was comped, thank- you, and I hugged the manager when we left. Not a bad ‘Roy’s’ experience, but a mistake looked after with class. Have been a Roy’s customer for years, and will certainly be in the future.
Food was hot and potion is adequate.
Ahi was top notch, the main course and desert were less than mediocre. The restaurant and its arrangements/seating were worn at the edges and while the wait staff were nice, they were harried and their apparently restaurant-provided shirts and ties were worn out. The overall affect was unpleasant and after visiting several excellent restaurants on Maui, left Roy’s really disappointed.
It was a very nice restaurant with a friendly staff. I had the tenderlion beef which tasted delicious.
Good place to go for a nice seafood dinner. Service is great and the seafood options are abundant.
We had been to Roy's when it was in Kahana years ago and loved it. This visit, the menu and service seemed more formulaic and less a special experience. Food was still very good, but the wine list didn't seem to match the Seafood/Asian menu. Chardonnay has never been the best pairing for Asian-inspired dishes, yet it was recommended by our waiter, and the list had a full page of Chardonnay wine. Pricey place for a so-so experience.
Thanks to Susie and the team for a delightful experience celebrating my wife’s birthday. Truly memorable.
We were seated in the middle of a very high traffic area. Food value was fair based on quality and price. Was expecting more for a nice dinner out evening.
Fantastic food and service as usual. Great dining for a special night out.
Amazing cocktails, food, and service. I cannot recommend the “Dim Sun Canoe for Two” enough!
The food was outstanding! Our waiter acted like he did not want to be there. He was not personable or, even friendly. He didn't say much and acted like he was in a hurry to go home. He did not ask us if we wanted dessert or coffee.
Apparently this is the place to go if you lost your teeth and tastebuds. Go here if you like microwave dinners and spend all your cash on some fishy fish and a sloppy nuked “souflee”. I won’t be sending anyone I like to eat here.
Wonderful! Best seared Ahi appetizer and delicious pineapple upside-down cake! The Butterfish was a bit fishy and the sauce was very, very, sugary sweet. That’s why it’s not an excellent rating. It was probably a one-off.
We had a great time! Excellent service with well timed visits without being overbearing. A very nice Sylvaner from the unique section of the wine list. Appetizers were very good. Very fresh fish (of course). One in our party had the prime rib and it was fantastic. The chocolate molten lava souffle had at least 5 pounds of chocolate in every bite. A most excellent evening.
Outstanding service. Attentive to our needs and kept the wine glass full. Food was great as usual. Found a couple items I would get again! However since I frequent the place, ready for a menu change up. Ambiance is good. But noise level, just ok. Get too many patrons hard to hear your own party talk. Always recommend this place!
Get the Mai Tai cocktail!
