Had a great birthday dinner and very friendly staff
We were able to be seated by the water. Great table location. My only criticism is the music was quite loud. It was distractingly loud because our table was near the musician. Would be better if they kept the music level a bit lower... or moved the musician to a spot where it didn’t blast you. people go to this restaurant to enjoy the ambiance, and converse with one another- which was challenging. Otherwise great experience!!
I made a reservation about 2 months in advance for a party of 8 for a birthday dinner for for my husband. We had a toddler with us so we ate early (5:30 pm). The restaurant was fairly empty yet they brought us to a table directly in Front of the kitchen. We asked to be moved and were then sat at two couch tables that were separate and told that was all they had. We moved the tables as close together as we could but we were now broken up into two groups. The food was good - not great. The macadamia nut crusted fish my two sons had was over done, my filet minion was good but I expected much better for the price tag. My husband enjoyed his sushi platter and the others liked their fish. The management/hostess kept walking around the restaurant with iPads checking on our status, basically checking to see how quickly folks would be done. We were dressed nicely because it was dinner time and special occasion - but it was pretty much anything goes shorts, flip flops etc. I get that it is Hawaii but if you are charging high prices for dinner maybe there should be some sort of dress requirements. All in all a high cost disappointing experience.
Great Pre Fix menu. Misoyaki Butterfish and Short Ribs are favorites and the Chocolate soufflé never disappoints!
Our server was really nice and friendly. The other staff was good as well.
Great for casual meal. Very romantic and beautiful views!
Love this restaurant. Open to the beach and the Hawaiian air on all sides. Also the food and service are outstanding.
We loved everything about our experience at the Beach House. The view is beyond compare, the staff is friendly without being overly solicitous, food and beverages spectacular. Service was excellent and the servers paid particular attention to allergies and pointed out several options to make the dining experience wonderful. One of us had the pris fix menu and the value was outstanding. One of us ordered a la cart and it was excellent. One member of our party is a fine dining chef and he was extremely complimentary about every aspect of the meal including the cocktails and wine pairings. The cherry on our sundae was the live music that was played at a level to add to the atmosphere but not disrupt conversation. It was a really special evening!
Great meal, great service, great view.
Expensive Cabernet served very warm. In excess of 80 degrees
It is terrible for a Roy’s restaurant to serve wine at such an unacceptable temperature It made the dining experience overall disappointing. Even the ice bath we requested was not much help
Our favorite place to have dinner! You cannot beat the views from this restaurant. The live music is a plus and the volume is pleasant which won't drown out a conversation. Have not had an item from the menu that we have never enjoyed. The restaurant tries to include locally produced ingredients on the menu. A must try is the pineapple martini!
Love the service and the professionalism. Great food and always a good time as we feel like family when there.
Good to visit for guests of Turtlebay resort ^^
Great food and Great service! Overall a great place for any occasion. Definitely going back
The location is phenomenal! The beauty is enhanced by excellent food and service. Never disappoints.
Bad lighting was the kicker for us- felt like spotlights on our head
Furniture super comfy, food good, service good
They need some cool hanging light fixtures on dimmers
It felt like a cafeteria
We loved the setting, staff and chocolate soufflé. My mahi came with an unusual warm salad underneath... not great and others said veggies were undercooked. But... 3 days before when we were checking it out for special guests we had a sangria that seemed devoid of the right juices and waitress balked,, then a very flat coke and to our surprise our $22 turkey club came sans bacon, we were told we should have read the fine print, have to order it extra. We felt she should have asked, as clubs always come with bacon. They made us wrong three times, maybe I forgot to order the bubbles in the coke? We Love Roy’s, but then I saw the manager walk by us, and go over to the only other diners and ask how their dinner was. We laughed.
Overall my feeling is that though the food is decent, it is overpriced and there is not great service. I just wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend it to others and feel no draw to go back.
The Brussels sprouts starter is really good for vegetarians and meat eaters! Best thing we tasted on the menu for sure.
Service was generally OK overall but this place sort of stood out as not being the most friendly atmosphere especially when everywhere we have been in Hawaii to date has been so welcoming and friendly.
It was the first night of our honeymoon and there seemed to be many free tables but we were put at a table where we both just facing a wood column; we asked nicely if we could be moved but were told it wouldn’t be possible. This would have been fine but for there were many of the same open tables during the duration of our evening there.
I had left half of my starter (It was decent, I just didn’t want to fill up on that alone) and asked to get it packed up; the waiter didn’t bring it back and when I asked he just suggested I hadn’t asked for it to be packed (even though I 100% did) so I just left it at that. But even just a quick apology would have been nice, rather than insinuating it was my fault.
Hope this is helpful to those looking for places to eat in the area!
Amazing food and service
Good creative food in a beautiful outdoor beach setting.
Food was very good but fairly limited menu selections. Excellent service. Decent wine list for Hawaii. Lovely ambiance.
It was my husband and I’s one year anniversary and the first time on the island, so we didn’t know what to expect as far as where we would celebrate our anniversary. Roy’s was such a great place to celebrate! The service we received was AMAZING! Carlie was very knowledgeable about menu questions and even noticed that we were guests the previous day for lunch! The food was just as amazing as the service! Definitely, will be back to Roy’s...probably today for lunch! LOL!
Mahi mahi over cooked, terrible
Best filet ever! We really enjoyed our dinner! We will definitely visit again.
This is my second time at Roy’s. It was as fantastic as the first. Definitely lives up to its reputation. Service was great and the food was perfect. Save room for the chocolate desert.
Perfect, all was very good
Pricey, but we were on vacation and celebrating so we sent twice--once for dinner and then back for lunch.
Waiter coming so many times and we are still eating but try to get dishes cant take a time enjoy meal. So disappointed
Awesome service and food. Courtney our waitress was superb and Joel the busboy was attentive. We stayed at the resort and ended up eating here three times in a row.
Highly attentive waiter!!
The beauty of Roy’s Beach House is its ambiance and service. The Aloha Spirit is alive and well here. Whoever waits on you knows every dish as if they had actually made them. The attention given by the bussers as well as the waiters is awesome. The quality of their Ahi is possibly the best on a Oahu. What more can you want.
Wonderfully accommodating and beautiful atmosphere on the beach. Favorite restaurant at Turtle Bay
We love the relaxed atmosphere, the feeling of being on an island, and food and service reflects the goodness of the restaurant!
Roy’s is incredible in many ways‼️The atmosphere, food, and most importantly the People!
Everyone shows the Aloha Spirit ‼️ The short ribs are over the top‼️
The parking arrangements have changed recently and the parking area close to the restaurant is now "public parking" space. Today all spaces including all 'Blue Badge' and 'electric charging" close to the restaurant were occupied. Also several illegally parked vehicles obstructed access.
Until this change the parking - blue badge or otherwise - was never a problem.
This change makes Roy's a less attractive proposition specifically at lunchtime when there are many public beachgoers.
Allocated parking for restaurant users would be a solution.
Roy’s was the perfect location, right on the beach. The ambiance was amazing and perfect spot for a romantic date. The food was wonderful!
This is a semi outdoor venue with live music in the evening. Drinks are fabulous and the wait staff was attentive. Food was very good. Attire is relaxed--shorts, skirts, flipflops. You cannot see the sunset from this venue. Highly recommended. Get reservations.
Went there for our anniversary and my wife’s food was unsatisfactory. She ordered a salad and ribs. The croutons in the salad were so stale they were like chewing gum and the ribs were so tough she couldn’t cut them with a steak knife. My beet salad was good but my poke was unseasoned. Disappointed as we have been to other Roy’s and had excellent food
Best food, service, atmosphere EVER! Highly recommend!
