Roy's Beach House at Turtle Bay
The concept and design for the new 140-seat open –air restaurant are a reflection of Roy’s love for white sandy beaches and the ocean. Roy has fond memories of potluck gatherings on the beach with a variety of his family’s favorite dishes- a memory he hopes to create for you at the Beach House.
So please come and indulge in one of our spectacular hand crafted cocktails or choose from a selection of ice cold local beers while you discover the fresh ingredients and outstanding seafood, expertly prepared by our local chefs that have made Roy’s famous.
Waitress spilled a drink on us and we got no compensation whatsoever :(
The staff @ Roy’s located at Turtle Bay have been well trained. If you’re looking for an very quick and expensive meal experience then this is your restaurant. From the moment we were seated the meal was rushed with all the staff pushing us to quickly order without much reflection. I was quite surprised to be asked about my dessert order moments after the main course had been presented. I had no real issues with the food.. the meals were tasty and visually pleasing. I was just not expecting a “ turn and burn” meal with a bottle of wine on the North Shore of Hawaii.
It was our anniversary and the first table, a large 4 top, they sat us at was next to server stand and chairs were way to low for table. We moved to a two top and waitress, Victoria, took a long time to greet us, promising to come back for drink order. That was her communication pattern promising next course was coming in two minutes which morphed to ten. Victoria did not ask if we were enjoying our meal or we would have told her the potatoes served were cold. Busboy was attentive - we had water if no food or drink.
Overall we enjoyed are time there. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the server.
Wonderful ambience, great service from Averie and very delicious food served perfectly.
Fantastic food! We loved the simultaneously upscale yet laidback ambiance of Roy’s. The service was spot on and the staff very knowledgeable about the menu items and preparation techniques. The cocktails were outstanding! Our dining experience from Pupu to desert was exceptional. Roy’s is truly worth the money if you want a dynamite experience with outrageously great food.
Fantastic place! Loved the ambiance and the food! The wait staff was so friendly!
We are at Roy’s twice in our recent vacation. It is a magical setting, great food, and attentive staff. The butterfish and macadamia encrusted MahiMahi are exquisite.
Loved the atmosphere here, casual and beachy! As always Roy's menu is executed perfectly. The sashimi was excellent as were the oysters. Servers were on point with menu preparation and how presented. We had a good pace to our meal as well.
First time visit to Royʻs Beach House but we got what we expect from a Royʻs name. The restaurant is right on the beach - tho that evening the winds were howling. Other than that it was still a very memorable evening with wonderful service and food. I had the Prix Fixe Braised Short Ribs dish and my wife ordered the Misoyaki Butterfish. Both dishes were very good although my wife says she prefers the same dish at Royʻs Ko Olina. I love the Hot Chocolate soufflé dessert! Weʻll go back again in the future.
Exactly the beachfront lunch with a view that I was seeking.
Lovely spot at Turtle Bay. But our whole experience was strange. Our neighbors were sharing appetizers, which I wished we had done. Instead, we ordered cocktails and an entree each. We had barely sipped our cocktails when our plates arrived with a "careful, the plate is hot". But the food wasn't. There was no way our meals could have been anything but microwaved in that amount of time (is it prepared in a commissary?) Sadly, I ate the room temperature rice and suffered for it later. If you go, go for lunch or appetizers. Roy's, of course, has become a big corporation since we first experienced one 20 some years ago. I knew that but I expected far better food quality for the price (or any price).
Ocean and beach view close by. Good tasting unusual food
We went there for an anniversary dinner, and we're treated extremely well! The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We were provided special seating, and a complimentary dessert. Even for the price, I would highly recommend Roy's!
Normally I love anything Roy’s, but not this time. The husbands scallops were dry and my lamb chops were over cooked. Aside from that, I will return. Sometimes even the best restaurants have bad days.
Everything about Roy's Beach House was amazing. Our server was very informative and friendly (to be honest I forgot his name.) I ordered the Teri salmon and my partner ordered the seabass. The food was delicious! I normally even order one dish for my kids to share but they even loved it so much I had to order a second one. They print and change their menus daily so that means I would have to come back and try more of their food =).
The food was spectacular. Service was great! Will be back and highly recommend!
The service was good. Our waiter was very friendly. The food on the other hand was OK. The menu had changed so much my wife’s dish (Jidori Chicken) wasn’t even remotely what we’d had the last time we went there. I had the beef short rib and honestly would rather have the kale back and my mashed potatoes were just ehh. They should have informed us of a menu change or put it in the descriptions in the menu they have.
Coming from a resort town ( Jack$on Hole, WY) I am used to high prices. But at least the food is prepared well. First, service was excellent. But the meal...yikes. And the wine list...ugh. If you are staying at the resort, consider going off campus to one of the food trucks nearby...
Went to Roys twice for dinner and once for lunch while at Turtle Bay. Loved it
We have eaten at a few of the Roy’s in Hawaii and this one has the loveliest setting of all. The food was excellent and the service was attentive.
We went there four times during our stay at the resort! One of our ‘must go’ places during our visits to Hawaii!
My wife and I came to Oahu for the first time and went to Roy’s for a wonderful dinner. The food was fantastic and the service was second to none. I would highly recommend this restaurant if your looking for a nice night out.
On another note the actor from Hawaii 5-0 who plays flippa (Shawn Mokuahi Garnett) was playing guitar and even took pictures with us. Made the night that much more special.
Fantastic food! The server was a bit rude to my Dad but he’s very picky about his food and loved it, so he let the rudeness go.
Always celebrate our anniversaries here. The food and service are excellent.
Although the food was delicious, our experience at Roy’s Beach House was disappointing. From the moment we sat at our table, we felt like we were victims of sales pitch after sales pitch as well as being rushed through our meal, which ruined our evening! My message to Roy’s....your food sells itself! Allow your guests to enjoy a nice, relaxing meal without constant interruptions (unneeded constant water glass filling; pushing desserts before dinner has arrived, etc). If we decide to eat at Roy’s again, we’ll dine in the bar where we can dine at our own pace and less likely be subject to a pretentious dining experience.
Loved the beachfront location!
We had a great night at Roy’s, everything was great. The only miss was the panna cotta dessert two people ordered it and unfortunately didn’t enjoy at all.
Service was great and we would definitely return.
It was overall lovely and delightful
Great seating, great food and great service! Try the pineapple upside down cake and the butterfish. Amazing!
as with all Roy's a real gem. great service and fantastic food. went to the first roy's in Hawaii kai in 1986 and this keeps the Asian fusion movement in good hands!
Excellent food with attractive presentation.Well informed experienced and congenial waiter. The menu and meal prices more suited to discerning adult customers rather than families with younger children.
First off- please don’t serve a cocktail (even if it is a Mai Tai) in a water glass with a straw . We’re at Roy’s for heavens sake!
Second - When we ordered our chopped salad , our server asked what we wanted for dinner. We told her we’d wait to order but she insisted she would course our dinner . Salad was served to us within minutes. We hadn’t even finished our drink. Who wants to drink a Mai Tai with salad!? Oh well, ok. Then we no sooner finished our salad and dinner was served!!! We quickly ordered a glass of wine which didn’t come to us until our dinner was almost completely eaten. We felt way too rushed!!!
Oh and the dinner was just luke warm. This Roys was a disappointment . I’ve been to several Roys Restaurants over the years and always had excellent experiences. 😏
We had such a wonderful time our waiter even made it more special.
Everything was a so delicious. Seafood dishes were incredibly fresh. The spare ribs were perfectly seasoned. We got so full on appetizers we skipped a big entree. I highly recommend Roy’s. Also the outdoor seating made the restaurant a casual environment. Be prepared, however it is pricey.
Wonderful food and ambience. This Roy’s is open air and right on the beach. They have definitely taken dining on the north shore up a few notches!
Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the view of the ocean; The fish was wonderful and service excellent as well. We had a great night at this restaurant.
This place is amazing! Not only is the setting tropical upscale beach style but the food was really really good. The service was outstanding and we had a really special dinner at Roy’s. We highly recommend!!
Waitstaff was awesome
Great views, great drinks, great food!
