Excellent restaurant, waiter was the best, friendly and chatty. Food was amazing, the brussel sprouts were delicious, as was the French onion soup dumplings. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Waiter was nice but in another world. Ordered apps and a soft drink. Next thing we know he is bringing our entrees and when we asked about the apps he said whoops and he could get it now or give it afterwards. We said to cancel them. Never brought the soft drink. Took 3 requests to finally get it. Got our check and we're walking out when he asked my friend if she had wanted a refill on her drink. ??? Sat on the porch because it was hot inside. Their air conditioning does not work well. There were only about 4 tables when we were there so no excuse for the bad service.
We have been to this restaurant a few times but wasn't quite as happy with it this time. I ordered the curry veggies over rice and added the grilled shrimp for $8 extra. They only gave me 2 shrimp for $8!! And they weren't even jumbo in size. We had to ask for bread for the table and that took awhile to come out. We observed a couple walk up and ask for a table for 2. They were turned away because they didn't have a reservation yet there were a lot of empty tables. And for the entire time we were there we saw many open tables inside and out. Seems like poor service turning people away when you can clearly we,come them to your establishment.
First time here and we were very impressed. The food was great especially the halibut. Tables on the porch are nice for people watching but indoor ambiance was nice also. Will definitely be back!
We decided to try this restaurant because of a Groupon deal and because they are temporarily working on a BYOB basis.
The food and service were both excellent. We had dinner on a Friday night and sat on their outdoor porch seating (additional outdoor patio seating is also available). We started dinner with the Fromage & Charcuterie platter, followed by a Pasta dish of artichokes & chicken and a side of Brussel Sprouts and finished with two desserts Lemon Bars and Tres Leches Cake. Everything was very good, but the brussel sprouts were amazing, a little sweet and a little spicy. Our server Julianna was great, she was attentive and personable.
Another Great New Hope restaurant to choose from.
Menu is very original and the combinations of ingredients in each dish are exceptional. Portions were also good and allowed us enough to take home and enjoy again. Service was great, like being tended to and guided through the menu by a friend. We're adding Royal T's to our list of regulars.
Love, love, love the seafood risotto entree! The fries in the curry dipping sauce were delicious too. The lobster corn dog appetizer was good but very small for the price. It was a beautiful night for dining outside so we had a table on the front porch. Service is good but they still don't have their bar up and running due to some complications. BYO it is!
Was disappointed. First of all, it was a very limited menu on a Tuesday. First disappointment.
The short rib routine appetizer just didn't do it for me. My wife liked her onion soup dumplings. I found them too heavy.
My wife enjoyed her seafood risotto. I ordered the hangar steak, which was not on the menu. Small steak with lots of fries.
They were out of the blueberry cheesecake, one of only two options offered.
Overall, just okay. I think there are better option in town. For their prices, some bread and including a vegetable would be nice.
We tried this restaurant because we got a great Groupon deal. The food was great as was the service. We had the seafood risotto and the Thai curry veggies with shrimp. Seafood was fresh and the portions were nice. This restaurant does have a bar but apparently is having liquor license issues now so for the time being it's BYO only. It was nice that they did leave us a voice mail message to let us know that and that there would be no corking fee. The only feedback we have is that it would be nice if they gave you bread for the table. We would recommend it and will likely be back.
Nice neighborhood restaurant. Industrial chic furnishings in historic building. Every dish we've ordered has been good, especially short rib poutine. On our most recent visit, I ordered the mushroom carbonara. It was a very good pasta dish, but not carbonara. There was no egg, cream or pancetta in evidence. Rather, it was in a nicely flavored olive oil based sauce.
Unfortunately, I was not pleased with this restaurant. I had asked the waitress if the pancakes would be enough for my kids to split. She said yes you get 2 or 3. When the pancakes arrived, there was 1. I ordered a $21 burger which I asked to be cooked medium. It arrived burnt. I didn't even finish it. The waitress was nowhere to be found. I had asked for a beverage and had to find the hostess after being unable to locate the waitress. The live music was nice. But the food was not tasty at all and was rather expensive. If I'm going to pay $85 for brunch, I would like to enjoy my meal. The restaurant is very cute but I would not go back.
Nicely done Saturday brunch spot. Mansion is a terrific addition to New Hope dining.
Meal started off by hostess letting us know that the bar was closed due to a dispute over the license with the property owner, but there is a wine store a couple of blocks down and they won't charge us for uncorking. How nice of them. When we got back they were moving us from the table we were seated to a smaller one. We requested to stay at the table we had which they accommodated. The server came over and explained that she had messed up a couple of bottles that day already and asked if I minded uncorking the bottle. We did. After 3 tries she finally brought a bucket that had ice in it. The tuna appetizer was the high point, it was good and presented well. Meal came, a burger and a steak. The steak was cold and was sent back. It was returned to the table by Joe who we later found out was the owner. He then started shouting that he had just temped it in the kitchen and it was right so it should be eaten. We were stunned. Couldn't believe that he was yelling at us for daring to say the steak was cold. Pointing out that it may have been cooked to medium but it was brought to the table cold, so cold that the butter dollop had yet to melt. He then left the table. The server came over to apologize for the error. When we asked what "error" she stated the food being prepared wrong. I have never left a negative review before having worked in restaurants and knowing how difficult it can be. But they were not busy and this was ridiculous. The table next to us was equally stunned. I doubt that they will be in business long
Everything was great except for the over cooked poached eggs!
Came for Sunday brunch. Bananas Foster French Toast is amazing. Service was impeccable and entertainment was great.
This was my first time here since the renovation and I wasn't exactly impressed. We sat outside for brunch and that was great! The menu looked pretty good and had a variety of options. However, once the food came, we were a little bit disappointed. I had the avocado toast, which was really more like avocado eggs benedict because it consisted of plain, unseasoned avocado atop two halves of an English muffin with overcooked poached eggs on top of each half. It was even served with hollandaise sauce. I think this could be a fun addition to the benedict section of the menu, but in my opinion, avocado toast should be served as a thick piece of toast with avocado that has been seasoned well with spices and salt and should probably include a lemon wedge to squeeze on. The poached eggs should also have a runny yolk, and mine were cooked almost completely through. My mom got the tuna tartare and really enjoyed it, so that was a plus. Overall, I know they haven't been open for very long and it's a really convenient location (they also have free parking in the back), so I will definitely be going back to try it again.
French Onion Dumplings & Spring Salad w/ Chicken was delicious!
Food was great and Julianna was very pleasant
We had been to the bar before but not the restaurant. The menu was varied but somewhat plain. My friend and I both had the lamb chops and both came out overcooked and not the way we ordered them, but the company was good, and the server was nice so it was a pleasant night in new hope anyhow!
Had reservations for 9:30 pm, showed up at 9:15 to an empty restaurant and a couple staff sweeping up the dining room. They had no idea we were coming! The kid runs into the kitchen, and comes out with some bs excuse on how one of the refrigerators broke and they had to close early. Seriously? So, they would not honor our reservation. As we walked away, I pulled up their OT listing, and still they were showing 9:30 & 9:45 time slots available. Unreal! If you're going to close early, it's simple...block all of your late slots. Left click on the slot you want to block, and click block slot. It's very simple. Then, nobody can make a reservation for that time. At least they slid my reservation over so I could leave a review.
Had a solid experience but expected a bit better. Just like other reviewers have reported, they were out of several menu items already on a late Sunday afternoon. Took a very long time (~30 min) to get appetizer/salad, both of which were good. My wife had pasta dish that was very good (carbonara but not too heavily creamed). My meal however must have been ready 15 minutes before hers. It tasted fine but was tepid at best. Came in a cast iron skillet which wasn't even warm. So a mixed bag.
Excellent meal for all of the 4 in our party.
Food was nicely prepared. Attentive service. Can get loud due to conversations from other table plus the musician playing in the background. Overall, good place for brunch
I have mixed feelings on this place. It has such great potential and the food was actually decent BUT the service was awful. The server took forever to get us our drinks (bottled beer) and we were literally one of 3 tables there. She also had to "check" if they were out of certain items -- pretty much every beer I asked for. I would be hesitant to try this place again just due to how annoyingly poor the service was despite the pretty good food. It's a shame because it's such a good location and pretty atmosphere. We are new hope residents and the area offers many other better options in my opinion.
Excellent meal and great atmosphere. Must try the French Onion Dumplings!
Tables are spaced nicely. Bar is great and drinks were very good.
We had been meaning to try Royal T's at the Mansion for several months since they opened. A pre-theater dinner seemed like the perfect time, and we are so happy we did! We were promptly greeted by our server when seated and enjoyed her overview of the cocktail specialties and menu. The selection is well balanced and not overdone with too many options. Each of the five of us tried something different and all were very pleased. Additional staff approached us throughout to ensure all was well...and it definitely was! Even the owner stopped by, introduced himself and welcomed us to Royal T's, which is a great find in New Hope which is lacking for finer dining experiances with a full bar. We will be returning often!
AC wasn't working and patio seating not available on Easter Sunday 85 degrees
Lots of great choices of appetizers and cocktails. Service was excellent. It was very loud, difficult to have a conversation and the room wasn't full. I called ahead to ask about parking and the hostess didn't know that there was an inexpensive public lot about 2 blocks away. We'd definitely go again.
The only issue that I would have is the because of the high ceiling in the main dining room it's very loud. Hard to hear conversations at your own table. Other than that great food, great service.
They have a very limited menu. They were out of most of the entree selections. Did not offer any alternatives. Restaurant was empty. Very pricy. Drinks were ok not great.
No ambiance. Very stark and cold. We left and went to a competitor. We will not go back.
The volume in the dining room was deafening. We could barely hear the server explain the items on the menu (we're 40 years old). Most of what we wanted on the menu was sold out. Service was sporadic. The food we did order was lackluster at best. The fillet, which was supposed to have been encrusted, instead has a coating more akin to a paste. Didn't stay for dessert.
I think we made the mistake of mentioning we had a Groupon before we ordered. Two other guests sitting at other tables near us ordered the Halibut and it looked delicious and both were health portions, leading me to order the same. For appetizers, we ordered the Crispy Calamari. We received the Crispy Calamari first and noticed the portion was a bit on the lite side. Simultaneously, the table next to us ordered the same appetizer and when theirs arrived the portion was almost twice as much. OK, no big deal… When my Halibut arrived, it was half the portion as the other two tables sitting next to us and well over cooked, a $38 plate, really…???
So, my advice when visiting this place with a Groupon is, don’t mention it to your server until you ask for your bill..!! Secondly, we had an 8pm reservation and we were told they were out of almost half of what was listed on the menu! Service was a bit on the slow side and the dining room was extremely noisy. There was an elderly couple that said they were waiting an hour and a half for their food and they finally got so frustrated they walked out! With this said, for a place that wants to pride itself as an upscale venue that serves mediocre food, for Manhattan prices, this was a onetime visit for me and my partner and I would not recommend this place to friends!
This is my third meal at Royal T's and they have yet to disappoint. Their dishes are refreshing and unique and their cocktails are spectacular. We have been to brunch twice and dinner once and every meal has been fantastic with wonderful service. The restaurant is not packed but I think that most people have their favorite haunts and are afraid to try someplace new. This place is becoming a new favorite for sure.
Great! Food was awesome, great atmosphere, close to everything!!
A friend and I tried this new restaurant during restaurant week. Neither of us wanted the choices on the restaurant week menu, so we choose from the regular menu. I had the French Onion Soup Dumplings and the Steak Frites. I liked the dumplings, a very interesting concept, and they were yummy yet very heavy and filling for an appetizer. Unfortunately I can not say that I enjoyed the steak - it was a large slab of meat, under cooked (asked for medium, got rare) and grizzly. Also, in my opinion, for the price (~$26) it should have been Steak something-else and served with mashed potato and veggies. The fries were fine, nothing special. What I did like was the drink. The specialty drink menu has many good choices. My friend said her meal was very good (asparagus and lamb). BUT, they charged more for the meal than was listed on the menu. Apparently the price was updated, but not on all of the menus. So overall, I was disappointed and felt like I paid too much.
The waitress was excellent. She was friendly, knowledgeable and just the right amount of attentive. So, points for that!
We did small plates, the Octopus was excellent as was the duck breast, the Tuna Tartar was over dressed with the Wasbi mixture. First time I have been there seems to be a restaurant in search of itself, service was good.
Ambiance is beautiful and food was impeccable. We actually went back again the next day and had another great meal and a terrific time!
We love the redesign on the Manson. The interior and decor is very urban and they incorporated these details nicely with the Victorian architecture of the building. I give it an A++ for atmosphere. The bar is very intimate with bold color schemes and graphics. The Bartender was very personable and the drinks were spot on. Overall we were please with our experience. My only negative is the value for the dinner options. The food was good, especially the small plates. However the full dinner menu was over priced for the amount and quality of food offered.
