You’ll find an elegant dining experience with a relaxed and refined atmosphere at the Prince of Wales Hotel with the Royal Stewart Dining Room, Windsor Lounge and Afternoon Tea.

Take part in a time honored Waterton tradition with Afternoon Tea at the Prince of Wales Hotel. Inspired by British tradition, Afternoon Tea features a selection of teas from Jolene's Tea House (Banff, Alberta) and a variety of delectable sandwich squares and pastries. 24 hours are required for any dietary restrictions.

Tea is served in the Royal Stewart Dining Room, which overlooks Waterton Lake for some of the most spectacular views around. Join us for this unique experience daily from 11 AM to 3:30 PM during the summer operating season.

Looking for Dinner, join us in the Royal Stewart Dining Room between 5 PM - 9:00 PM and watch the sunset while you dine on locally inspired dishes.

The Windsor Lounge is open seating with first come, first served.

    The Royal Stewart Dining Room is a lighthouse of understated brilliance.  The professional staff provides exceptional service, and the menu embodies eclectically tasty suggestions for the discriminating palate.  The Pork Duo meal, as was the Tuscon Tomato Soup, was absolutely brilliant.  The cheesecake dessert melted in our shared mouths.  A restaurant that deserves a visit from James Beard.

    The Afternoon Tea experience was very special. The view from our table by the window was beautiful and our server was as attentive as she could be with the tables she was managing. The number of courses was good, and we had enough to eat, despite the portions being quite small. The server made our tea experience very special, for my husband's birthday. We'd love to come back to the stately Prince of Wales Hotel.

    We had a lovely high tea experience at the Prince of Wales, Royal Stewart Dining Room. A spectacular view with an assortment of teas and desserts and sandwiches served by a knowledgeable and fun and efficient group of servers. They looked lovely in their tartans. Thank you.

    Service and food was top notch. Loved the mushroom risotto: farro dish and hubby more than enjoyed his Alberta beef

    Disappointed…$158 incl tax, parking fee of $10.50, and a reluctant 10% tip. My daughter was so excited to go for afternoon tea at the Prince of Whales in Waterton. We drove 5 hrs for this experience. The price was very high at $64.00 each. For that price, I had high expectations because I am very careful with my money. The ambiance was fantastic. We were seated and waited quite awhile for someone to come and serve us. There was a menu of items served in the table. I saw that there were two fillings in the sandwich options that I hoped to exchange for 2 more of the others on the tray. When one server, not sure of her name, came to offer us cold water, I asked her about making a slight and easy change, she politely said she would check with the kitchen. Our server, Savanna, came to the table and said, Are you the ones wanting to make changes? I said yes and she informed us that the kitchen was not willing to make the changes. The servers go through a story line about the tea as well as what the items were and how they suggest you choose the order in which you eat the items. When she brought the food tier, she seemed uninterested in what is supposed to be said about the “tea time” experience and had some attitude. Perhaps we were too much trouble for asking for changes? It took quite a long time to have anyone come back and ask us if we wanted more hot water and tea. You have the opportunity to try all 8 varieties. We asked another server named Maya and she was fantastic and friendly. The first plate we received had 2 kinds of scones with a delicious jam. After adding the jam to our plate to put on the scone, it did make a bit of a mess to our plate. These plates should be replaced with clean ones for the next food options from the tea tier. The food was alright but potions small. I understand that afternoon tea is pricey. If they charge the fancy price, the service, experience as well as the option to make easy changes should be accommodated.

    Is a great place to take pictures but would stop there. We came in at 12 and were 1 of 4 other tables but waited almost 20 mins to give our drink order. Then the food took another 45 mins to arrive for some finger sandwiches. The bill for two people to eat and have a bottle of prosecco came to over $200 with a tip. Plus if you’re staying longer than 30 mins you have to pay for parking, an extra $10. Overpriced and not worth it in my opinion.

    Good food let down by somewhat tricky seating & service! Our initial table was near the door which made it loud & distracting. Add to that a not so polite server (the original one was nicer) during our meal but magically Michael pitched in immediately and changed that totally with his helpfulness & smile. Ask for him when you are there. Their French Toast is heavenly and the best I’ve ever had. The Omelette was good too. Overall, barring the wonky seating & the isolated, not so polite interaction, I’d absolutely go back for another meal esp. the French Toast.
