   It was great to see an institution like Royal Restaurant partnering with a local performing arts organization. I will definitely spend my money there and refer my friends. The food was fantastic, the portions were generous and the staff were so friendly and enthusiastic about telling us the history of the restaurant.

   We had a great time. The restaurant was doing a promotion by giving a portion of proceeds to the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra. We'll be back. I was looking as plates as the servers carried the and there are a lot of great looking options.

   This Neighborhood Gem exceeded our expectations! We had the SPANAKOPITA DIP (which was the most delicious ever!) as well as the WARM CAST IRON CORNBREAD, which also was very good. Both of us had the GRILLED SALMON which was perfectly grilled, and came with orzo spanakorizo (made with feta, shallots, lemon, spinach, and garlic-dill butter). Delicious! The service was very welcoming and friendly. While this is a casual, neighborhood place, the food would have shined on King Street! Half price for good bottles of wine was also a plus! Although this was our first visit, it definitely won't be our last.

   We had a very nice brunch. The servers were very nice and the food was great. We look forward to coming back and trying Royal for dinner.

   Friendly and attentive server; comfortable booth table by the window; delicious and well-prepared food. Worst thing was that they got my order wrong, so by the time my meal was remade and arrived, everyone else at the table was nearly finished. It was nice that the manager came to the table and apologized, but there was no way to remedy the problem. I’ll try the restaurant again, though.

    We had an amazing brunch there today. We went to celebrate our daughter’s 18th birthday and I put that remark on my reservation. When we arrived for our reservation we were sat immediately by a window booth and they put a hand drawn happy birthday sign on the table for my daughter. It was so sweet. The service was excellent, she brought us plates and a knife to cut and share a small birthday cake that we brought with us. Food was AWESOME. The breakfast potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned and the biscuits and gravy are TO DIE FOR. It’s like the cheddar bay biscuits with spicy gravy on top…best thing I’ve ate in a long time. Great place, will definitely be going back again!
