Royal Khyber is a Fine Indian Cuisine Restaurant, located in South Coast Plaza Village (across from Nordstrom).
Terrific food. Updated menu offers the standards (chicken tikka masala etc.) as new more sophisticated choices. Ali who oversees everything advises on ordering and makes sure you have a great meal.
The chef made delicious dishes for my family’s gluten free, dairy free diet.
It was a wonderful dinner.
This has become our favorite restaurant! The food and service is unbeatable! The owner works there at all times and really cares about your dining experience. Probably the best in OC!
Have eaten several times at Royal Khyber. Service is always very good. Food always consistently good.
Service and ambience was excellent. Mango martinis were too good, should have stopped with just one. Garlic nan was excellent . Tandoori chicken was slightly dry to my taste, but I was alone on that opinion.
Good value for the money. We will be back.
Again, excellent service, thanks again
Service was incredible!! They were not only able to accommodate special dietary needs with one of our party members, but went above and beyond to make sure she could partake in every course of the meal. The food recommended to us was excellent and we are looking forward to returning as soon as possible.
This is my favorite Indian restaurant, hands down. Excellent service, food and ambiance!
Royal Khyber's new Saturday Street Foods Brunch is a great deal. Multiple choices on the brunch line, plus you get a serving of an entree, with rice and pickle, and naan. Service, as always, was impeccable and friendly.
The service was slow and very busy. It took 15 minutes for someone to get to us and provide menus and water service. The food is good but small portions with non-vegetarian entrees.
Disappointed with this visit. Granted they were busy on a Saturday night, but service was inattentive and food was very slow to come out. When we did get the food it was not up to usual RK standards. The sheehk kebabs were hard and dry when normally they are moist and tender, the salmon Malabar was bland, as was the lamb biryani. Overall felt that the food was less authentic and more Americanized than normal - maybe because we had white American friends with us they catered to their tastes - (they loved their food)! Will put it down to one bad experience, not necessarily representative of the restaurant.
Great service and ambiance
We have been coming here for 15 years but first time for a buffet lunch. For the produce we paid, variety of food we got was simply amazing. Every single item was deliciously prepared. One thing I like about this place is that they know how to cook great North Indian food!
Highly recommended for the lunch buffet! Nice seating environment, good noise level easy enough to chat and talk. Great selection of dishes over buffet style lunch.
As it has always been, a wonderful culinary evening.
Great brunch buffet with tasty food. For the price of the food, I was expecting a little more. Further, the website menu offered different suggestions with more Indian breakfast items than what was served. The food was more traditional lunch buffet items. I would recommend that the restaurant update their website with this information.
I love this place so much. From the moment you walk in you feel so welcomed by the staff. Even if you have to wait for a table they are so accomodating and sweet. Also if you do have to wait it is extremely worth the wait. Delcious Indian food that warms your soul. SO SO good would reccomend to anyone looking for an amazing night out and a fantastic indian experience.
We had great service and wonderful flavors in our dinner. Tandoori cooked meats, chicken, lamb, salmon, and shrimp was great to share. Staff was atentative to our needs. We will come back again.
I have been a huge fan since they were over off Jamboree over 25 years. The food and the warm, friendly make it a favorite place to go!!
The food is always good and consistent. Waiters are attentive but not intrusive. Always a great experience!
If you've not had Indian food that loudly rang your bell, you need to visit Royal Khyber to experience the real deal. Excuisitely prepared, perfectly enhanced with appropriate and authentic spices, this will likely make you understand just how exotic and delicious the Indian cuisine should be. We've enjoyed their excellence over thirty years, and in 3 locations, and never been disappointed with any of the dishes we've ordered. Staff is always attentive, informative and gracious, and we'll be back for more great dining. You need to add this to your "must-visit" list, trust me. Thank you Royal Khyber!
My wife and I have eaten at this restaurant on several occasions and have found it to be the best Indian food place around. I would recommend this restaurant to those who really like good quality Indian food. The kofka vegetable balls are outstanding as well as the lamb shank.
Royal Khyber continues to please us every time I go to dinner there.
I have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years. It is far and away the best Indian cuisine in Southern California. The restaurant atmosphere is very cozy and comfortable and the staff is always very cordial and attentive to all of its customers.
If you want the best of curry and spice and "everything nice", then I recommend anyone to treat themselves to a visit to Royal Khyber.
Nice low light place. Great food and ambiance
This is a great place to a lunch, dinner and especially Sunday brunch. The food is fantastic and the service is marvelous.
Enjoyed Royal Khyber a lot. We started with eggplant fritters (actually fried thin slices). Had spinach with paneer, lamb curry and basil coconut chicken. All were tasty. Good service as well
Our favorite spot in OC for delicious Indian food with great food and service that is second to none. Love this place and people who work there. Very festive time of year with all the pretty decorations. Great job RK.
My family and I came here for Sunday Brunch. The food was amazing but the customer service is exceptional.
Wonderful food and service as always. Royal Khyber never disappoints.
Such good food. Always. I took a group of mostly 80+ year olds who had little knowledge of Indian food. I did the ordering, having been to RK many times. My friends all raved. Great dinner and evening.
We had a very positive experience at Royal Khyber and would recommend the restaurant for high quality indian cuisine. Sunil, our waiter was exceptional and made the experience really worthwhile as we were celebrating my mom's good health and life of 85 years. The menu was extensive and some items were creative. We were worried as we had driven up from San Diego for this restaurant as San Diego is pits for quality Indian restaurants.
The service is impeccable. Food is amazing and the drink choices are great.
Always outstanding food and service! Large buffet selection of delicious offerings.
Excellent tasting, the lunch entrée is a little small.
We love Royal Khyber but they have changed the Goan Prawn and need to change it back to the original way. The new way is not anywhere near as good.
My only issue with the Saturday lunch was that all in my party had leftovers of their main course and they don’t permit you to bring that home. While I see some patrons could possibly abuse this courtesy I hope most wouldn’t. It was just difficult for me to think of all that food being just thrown away especially in present times. I will probably just not order the main course as the appetizers were delicious and plentiful.
Chicken Madras made to perfection. This is the only Indian restaurant I've been to where the chef truly knows how to cook this delicacy. On top of that Ali made this a fun night as he always does. Thank you RK.
I love this restaurant. I have followed them for over thirty years. The quality is never compromised. I always feel welcome and comfortable there.
Great service and great food.
As always we had a fantastic time. Ali was as wonderful as always and our 4 new guests raves about everything.
Go and have a fantastic night out - you won’t regret it.
